Hi Ben, really enjoyed this video, beautiful day there!! So interesting about your family historical roots! Sam Houston’s statue is amazing so tall and so clean wonder how they keep it clean! Loved the cabins and houses there on the property!! It was like stepping back in time going through the homes and cabin!!! Thank you Ben this was awesome!! 😊👍🏼
Beautiful old cemetery ! The birds were really singing on this pretty day. Beautiful old town. Thank you Bennet, for the walk-about around Huntsville.❣️
Thanks Ben I really liked seeing Huntsville, boy that statue was something ,how do they keep it so clean .You show us what you like doing .See you next week .👋🤗☘️💚
Also wanted to add another comment: the cemetery of the unknown deceased was so special, impressive & very touching. I noticed that the cardinals were singing there..a very special song they sing for the departed loved ones (legends say). 💓🙏🎶💓🙏
Really enjoyed this trip today, Ben. People don’t realize what amazing history is in their own state! I never knew or heard of a prison museum! The art work is amazing! Then you went to a cemetery, I love wandering through and reading old grave stones! Great viedo!👍
I was at Sam Houston State University from 1975 to 1979. There was a girl that was in some of my classes that had lived in Cut and Shoot. She ended up winning the Miss America contest in 1983. Also, Huntsville was the inspiration of the movie "Dazed and Confused" by Richard Linklater who went to Huntsville High School and Sam Houston State. The sequel "Everybody Wants Some" was also about college life at Sam Houston.......
Ben, thank you so much for the walk around Huntsville. I’ve so been wanting to come there for years and see the history of Sam Houston. I am related to him. My mother was a Houston before she married my father and my grandfather her dad , he was his great uncle, I now live in California Originally born in Florida. My mother lives in Carthage Illinois , she’s still alive and she’s 86 years old . At one time my mother‘s family lived in Texas. My mom‘s sister was born there my aunt Rose she was 10 years older than my mom. They only live there a few years and I don’t know which town they lived in My mom has told me that I can’t remember the name of it right now . My grandfather died in 1959 and he was born in 1889, which made him 60 years old when he died . I was six months old when he died, so I never knew him. I am now 65 years old . Someday I will make it to Texas and see all of that, but it means so much to me that you went there today. I’ve been watching your family for six years starting with Lester and the sanctuary. I just love all of your family.❤
I really enjoy your videos whether you are working or cooking or showing us places you like. You are so calming and soothing and no nonsense in this hectic world we live in and I very much appreciate it. Thank you ❤

You explain everything so well, & your videos are very calming to me...as are the ones your parents make & the ones PawPaw makes. Please keep making many more awesome videos!!👏🥰👏 I'm your grandparents age, & have health issues, so I really enjoy everything you share!

Thanks for the trip, Ben! The statue of Sam Houston is beautiful. Somewhere back in my family, he is related. Here in Kentucky, we say house-ton. Guess he decided to change the pronouncation. Thanks for a great history lesson!

Well done, but after telling where the statue is, nothing about where all the other places are, geographically speaking. And, the prison that you showed up close is called the Walls unit.
