Set up a fake prank where you have your friend sneak a tag into your pocket while another friend records him doing it, shoplift and when the machine goes off you act scared and surprised while the security confronts you and then your friends come over and admit that they snuck a security tag into your pocket.
They have cameras that "loss prevention " monitors all day, and they will chase you if they see something in your hand going missing all of the sudden or you take items to a bathroom for example. if loss prevention didn't follow you and the alarm goes off, they're going to think it was just the cashier missing one of these tags

The best part of these videos isnt even the pranks, its how much they laugh with each other.
I did this with a friend in high school in our library. The librarian hated us so we pulled like 100 tags out of the books and started dropping them in peoples backpacks. The alarm went off so many times and she spent an entire hour searching people's bags. After awhile she just started letting people pass through because she thought the security system was acting up.
