I hope everybody will have a safe and enjoyable Christmas. See you all again next year and thanks for your support throughout the last 6 months! Marty.
Just a thought but since you are making your own decals/printed parts, how about printing the donors names either as one side of a decal set or as a 3d name plate as a thanks to the donor? You could ask your commentators what they think before going ahead if you like the idea . Have a laughter filled holiday.
I am 59 and still have this very same matchbox since I was a child . it is the prize piece of my collection . It has always been my favorite. You did a great job bringing that one back.
Marty you make my day. I love watching your program I like the way you throw in some comedy with the restoration of cars of my childhood. I had a friend whos dad was in the military and he sent him new cars every week or so. He had about 300 cars, trucks, tractors, heavy equipment, and other matchbox"s. We would build hole city's We spent weeks and weeks building them. Thank You for bringing back the memorys of 50+ years ago.
Your method for separating the two pieces was genius. I'm the type of person that would have torn it up trying to pry it apart. It never would have crossed my mind to attempt your technique.
Marty, being an Ohio native myself, just wanted to thank you for the enjoyment ,watching your vids. Love them. Please keep up the toothbrush humor. I'm sure that your wife's is a lovely woman. However, somehow, it never fails to bring a chuckle. Seriously, your vids are top shelf. Thanks.
What a lovely old bus. I grew up in Coventry where Daimler were based, and these buses would frequently be seen being tested whilst still minus their bodywork, the drivers wrapped head to toe in thick clothing to protect them from the cold.
I’m from the USA and have watched all your videos. They are really great. If I wasn’t so busy I could see me getting into restoring old matchbox cars looks like so much fun. I restored an old metal kitchen stool/bench for my wife for Christmas this year and it really hooked me. Thanks for the great content!
As we say here in the USA, Merry Christmas. Thanks for the videos. I get to relive my childhood through your Matchbox rebuilds. Sure wish I had them today. I must of had a hundred of those. Until my father stepped on one and pitch it in the trash.
Thanks so much for fixing up this bus. I hope you enjoyed working on it as much as we enjoyed watching the video! Sorry it got destroyed in the end. Shame. We will send you another if we find one.
Thanks for watching Kevin and Kasey! - I am so pleased that you got to see the finished model before it was run over Ha! Ha! - Have a great Christmas! xx
Great job. I watched this with a visitor who had actually seen the real version of this bus. Oh and I like your reading material; 'Horse born with human face'.
Marty, I love at the very end, after a smooth "TV style" rebuild (with no problems whatsoever) you show all the screw ups, frustration, and cursing of reality.
I've watched a half dozen of your videos since yesterday, I enjoy the way you present your work and I want to rebuild and restore a few old toy cars myself.
i got this bus as a present in the early 60ies...far far away. and using psp...you are my hero. greetings from austria, there where are no kangoroos....
your instant success comes from showing all stages, ive left in comments to all the others that we dont get bored watching these stages, they is a couple that dont show the actual painting, crazy watching the airbrush transform the model is the highlight of the video
You sir are a true craftsmen I have learned so much from your videos it's helped me to get through some of my most worst days ever I suffer from severe mental health issue and I thank you for keeping my mind busy and helping back into model making and restoring mini item thanks big hello from the uk
restoring things is always great fun!! I restored my first antique violin today mostly exterior wear and tear and I'm pretty pleased with the result the paint job had gone dark and misty but after a thorough polish, it now shows the almost crystalline woodgrain again sparkling in the light when you move it also re-glued all the parts that were loose like f.i. the neck, now for a cello!!
Hi! Yankee here, I find a nicely chilled Elysian Space Dust or a UFO White to be a darn near perfect accompaniment to watching the various ways Marty maims himself for our entertainment. I'm only sorry I've gone through the lot of these videos.
Love the videos Marty. I don't know how you keep so calm with the fiddly bits piecing together the separate components! Then I see the bloopers at the end and realise you're not superhuman after all! 🤣🤣🤣
Marty’s Matchbox Makeovers...Very impressed Marty! You had nearly 2600 views in the 1st hour of posting this video! Fantastic response to your entertaining restoration videos. Congratulations on your beautiful craftsmanship.
My first Matchbox Car was a garbage truck. My grandmother (she was from the Seneca tribe, and was 98 at the time... she lived to be 114) She tried to give me this toy garbage truck... my brother and myself both, she would try to give us matchbox cars, and we were always taught to be polite, and not take advantage of our grand mother, so we politely declined the gift.... so in order to convince us to take the toys, she took a penny, and stuck it into the back of the garbage truck, and then showed me how when the box of the truck was lifted, it would push the penny out with the compactor. Well, I was a five year old, and starting my Jewish learning, so a penny in the Matchbox toy... that changes EVERYTHING! To this day, I have fond memories of that Matchbox garbage truck... and that little compactor that would push things out when it was lifted, and my hope is to some day see you do a restoration of one. I haven't seen one of them since I was a small child though. I want to thank you for your channel, however... as a model railroader, I have used a number of your tips and tricks, and I look forward to each and every one of your episodes.
Hi Marty. Your videos are great and have inspired me to give it a go. Just a tip on this MB 74 bus model which makes things easier is that if you put a small screwdriver through the rear lower deck window and push up against the upper deck body, the rivet comes apart with a little force, but also in most cases allows the model to be press refitted later without glue. This is much easier than drilling a hole and refilling it.
I so enjoy watching you take a wreck and make it whole again, the attention to detail and patience is just outstanding. Thanks for taking us along the way with you.
I'll start my first real restoration project, because until then I only did repainting. Now I found a Dumper truck series 48, and there are missing wheels, and the windshield was painted with silver paint, in addition, the bucket is well kneaded! It will be a long work!
A clear example of Lesney's excellent manufacturing work. And what an excellent restoration job. I have a query, is it a Daimler Fleetline CRG6LX 1967?
Born in 1963 I lived on Radford Road Coventry between 1967 and 1971. I would regularly see these buses, minus their bodies, being test driven along Radford Road, their drivers wrapped up like the Michelin Man to stay warm....happy days.
Great build! Yes, JB Weld is amazing stuff. I patched a Honda Shadow master cylinder with it and it held like a champ for years. And yes, at least in the US, we call those "cotter pins". That was a bit of brilliance to figure out that was the right shape off-the-shelf part for the job. :-) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, Marty!
Unreal if you don’t watch the video you wouldn’t believe it was the same bus, from scrap with missing and broken parts to a Just from the factory look..amazing work and a merry Christmas to you and your family. I can’t wait for the new year.
Hello Mr. Martin, I watched the latest new episodes what you added on UA-cam are mega great today, too, and answering your question I like very much, I would like to wish you healthy merry Christmas and a happy new year that you do not run out of this passion for renovation :) I greet

Same to you, and thank you for your creative work and ideas.

Happy Holidays Marty!!! Thanks for all the fun, I'll wait for your vids and hope you keep installing LEDs on every restored Matchbox 😊🤗👏👏
You just got yourself a new sub mate!
Merry Christmas Marty!

Marvelous. This is now my favorite UA-cam channel.

Nice match on the paint, Marty. One of your best rest o's.
What a lovely old bus. I grew up in Coventry where Daimler were based, and these buses would frequently be seen being tested whilst still minus their bodywork, the drivers wrapped head to toe in thick clothing to protect them from the cold.
Again well done for this particular matchbox transportation.
Martha nice job once again. I didn't know anything about this decal paper
Well done! Nice work repairing those broken parts.
As we say here in the USA, Merry Christmas. Thanks for the videos. I get to relive my childhood through your Matchbox rebuilds. Sure wish I had them today. I must of had a hundred of those. Until my father stepped on one and pitch it in the trash.
Glad to see your wife arrive home safely right at then end of your video.
I am aircraft technician, using cotter pins all day! Never thought to use them as window support. Great idea
Thanks so much for fixing up this bus. I hope you enjoyed working on it as much as we enjoyed watching the video! Sorry it got destroyed in the end. Shame. We will send you another if we find one.

Thank you, as always, for not making the transfers look too easy. Best wishes.
Love the wife toothbrush reference and usage of the Inquirer newspaper. Love your funny jokes and the cameo references.
Great job. I watched this with a visitor who had actually seen the real version of this bus. Oh and I like your reading material; 'Horse born with human face'.
My grandparents have vintage Matchbox toys and I'll be glad to see you restore them!
Marty, I love at the very end, after a smooth "TV style" rebuild (with no problems whatsoever) you show all the screw ups, frustration, and cursing of reality.
your the coolest restoration guy i have ever watched
Another great Resto! I look forward to your videos...outtakes and bloopers are hands down the best!
The trick you used to separate the two pieces of the bus is brilliant. I dont think i would have ever thought of that. Another great video.
I've watched a half dozen of your videos since yesterday, I enjoy the way you present your work and I want to rebuild and restore a few old toy cars myself.

You need to be given a "MBX Restorer Award" ! I don't know from WHO, but it wouldn't matter. That bus is mighty phine.
I really enjoy watching your Restoration’s
One of the few channels worthy of watching with a 25 yr old whisky!!!!.. Well done 10/10!
Haha I was drinking a whisky as well, i just silently nod to every thing he says like I'm actually there
I'd be happy watching paint dry with a 25-year-old whisky!
I'd wacht just about anything with a 25 year old whisky!! (^^,)

Brilliant job, Marty. Makes me think of "On The Buses".
A great video for the new year would be a montage of all models restored in 2018.
Great job. Always learn something worthy of my time.
