I got to meet Congressman Raskin Saturday night in D.C. (we were at the same show). The man was smart, funny, and engaging - just an absolute pleasure to talk to.

They should already have compared those records and know what was recovered with what remains missing, if any -- and if any are still missing, they should be searching every inch of every property "45" has any ownership interest in.

As a former military classified material custodian, there must be a record of where classified documents went. There will be a record of what docuements were removed from the holding facility and by whom. Therefore they can track them to at least to the person who removed them. If that person gave them to Trump and never returned them, that person should be held accountable. Trump would then be held accountable for theft and either destruction of those documents or selling them to other nations.

This occurs in countries that are overtaken by coups and in banana republics, when the former president is tried for actions committed during his (or her) term as president. I agree with that, but a FORMER president is just a citizen and any criminal activity occurring while a citizen should be accountable.

It's hard to imagine that there is not a record of all classified documents that went to the Whitehouse. There should also be a record of all documents properly returned. Comparing those two would give us a list of what is missing. That is the list I'd like to see.
Why would those documents be in the White House in the first place
Those documents have tight chain of custody. They know exactly who signed them out before they were stolen. Expect resignations and arrests.
When the documents were originally prepared ... via computer ... there is a computer record somewhere. They should already have compared those records and know what was recovered with what remains missing, if any -- and if any are still missing, they should be searching every inch of every property "45" has any ownership interest in.

The attempts to recover documents started even before Bidens inauguration, almost immediately upon Trumps departure. They most assuredly.know which documents he has. However they likely don't know which documents he made copies of

A former president should only have rights if they still honor and respect the dignity of their former position which trump clearly did not. As a former military classified material custodian, there must be a record of where classified documents went. There will be a record of what docuements were removed from the holding facility and by whom. Therefore they can track them to at least to the person who removed them. If that person gave them to Trump and never returned them, that person should be held accountable. Trump would then be held accountable for theft and either destruction of those documents or selling them to other nations.
