YT promotes a low-effort react video 'partner' creator who has literally doxed people who pointed out how crap her content was. Is it any surprise they follow the money?
Just retrieved my old unit from the kitchen drawer. Not used it for a while, and you're right the motor had stuck. A few sharp taps seemed to work, and I am up and running.
I tried to mix 1:10 or whatever they suggest for using hand soap in these and they always clogged up in the aerator foam generator thingy because the mixed soap always seemed to eventually form thicker regions. I switched to the foaming soap which is more expensive and you use more of it (because you don't dilute it) and I haven't had another dispenser clog on me. Unclogging them sort of seemed to work for short periods, but once you mess with those foam generator 'pills' they never quite work right again.
Those little motor pump units seem to be a good choice for an autonomous DIY plant watering device. Cheap enough to have one plus a humidity sensor per flowerpot and one arduino to control a bunch of them. Not terribly much water to pump over the course of a day.
Contact cleaner also works a treat on smaller motors, especially the geared micro-motors popular with hobbyists. Whilst these smaller motors are almost "throw-away", they can be kept running for years with a spot of regular care and maintenance.
UA-cam was probably like: "oh no we must take care of the little kids on this platform who already have a beard that they dont harm themselves. The parents dont need to set up protections because we will handle this" and with other channels/videos that are way worse and way more dangerous: "should we investigate? How about no! Lets take down random videos and channels that dont seriously break the law because why not"

two Michael Jackson references the glove and blowing bubbles. ☺ Interesting that it just took a kick off the PSU to turn the motor over. interesting internals 2x👍
I've had a couple of solar pond pumps come into the repair cafe recently. The motors seem to seize up during winter storage, pulsing 9-12V DC in usually gets them going. Once freed up, the solar cell is sufficient to run them again.
One of those "Repairable by smacking it"-items. Guess a slight loss of contact on the motor brushes caused it to just be dead and not move. Extracting it probably fixed it.
The motor getting stuck reminds me of when I was a computer technician in the late '80s. some hard drive motors would get stuck and to get them going again you had to spin the end of the spindle on the bottom of the drive that touched the grounding strap. You could then copy the data off onto another drive.
Neat the spring in the hose. Only really seen that in Automotive. Also with the motor getting stuck, similar to automotive when your starter is sitting or just got put into a dead spot.
So you get a ban for a short where you carefully singe your own beard.... And channels showing you how to connect an extension cord to your CAR BATTERY to "jump-start" it with mains voltage can just keep posting ?????
I have one of these soap machines with a 7-segment display and 8 levels of foam output. I got it last December and it is still running on the initial charge six months later despite being used 5-10 times a day. It also has a capacitive sensor to warn when the liquid is almost empty. It is one of the nicer inexpensive products from China, Inc.
We had a jammed motor on a litho press once.... our friend who was going to help us with the motor if it needed actual repair discovered it did not turn freely at first, but freed up as he worked on it. It gave no further problems.
Welcome back. You were missed, sort of. If you'd hollered "Aloha Snackbar" as you ignited yourself, you would have not got the strike. All the best from Namibia.
Glad to see you back. I was wondering if the lack of videos recently was due to you checking if a capacitor was discharged with your fingers one time too many. 😝
Is it really beneficial to have decoupling capacitors for something powered by a battery? MLC capacitors always seem to be failures waiting to happen, so it feels like avoiding them wherever possible might extend product life.
Decoupling capacitors are needed to avoid the processor glitching due to tiny voltage transients caused by switched loads. The low value MLCCs are less troublesome than the higher value ones.
Batteries can have a high internal resistance or oxidized contacts, leading to voltage drops in everything that consumes power in pulses like digital electronics.
Motor seizing risks overheating, which would be really worrying with a lithium-ion cell. I have a standing fan I'm going to toss because it still works, but the friction has gotten the motor spicy to touch on any setting. Maybe I'll oil it and try to run it a litttle longer...
Similar vernacular is used in the railway too, at times. Same first word, second swapped-out for _„Mallard“_ in the example I'm thinking of... 😉 (Specifically: What was being uttered by the fitters when they saw just what _Mallards_ 126mph record breaking run had done to her valve gear and various other bits of the steam equipment. New boilers, please! 🚂🇬🇧💨🛠)
Motor "fix" reminds me of tapping on a car's starter motor with a hammer, or hitting the outside of a car's fuel tank to get the fuel pump motor to move just a little bit. Glad you're back!
I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I've fixed an electronic thing by opening it up and cluelessly looking at the components for a minute. And geeze, back in the '60s there was an American barber who made it to national TV a time or two because he cut hair using fire instead of scissors. Get with the times, YT!
There are still videos of that technique on here....but let's attack a short where no harm was done (except for a bit of bear beard.) YT is out of control.
I tried the battery powered foam soap dispensers for a while but ended up just going back to the hand pump since they were finicky and over time lost power.

Considering some of the toxic bullshit they allow on this platform it makes me so angry that you got a strike for that.
YT promotes a low-effort react video 'partner' creator who has literally doxed people who pointed out how crap her content was. Is it any surprise they follow the money?
Welcome back Clive - missed you :)
Welcome back Clive!
Just retrieved my old unit from the kitchen drawer. Not used it for a while, and you're right the motor had stuck. A few sharp taps seemed to work, and I am up and running.
Why did you have a youtube ban?
I'm not sure.
The flaming beard of UA-cam death video. Now we know why there are so few flaming beards on UA-cam. Welcome back Clive.
There are only a few beards in UA-cam. Why? Nearly all have been burnt off of course.
Thanks!
Thanks. Much appreciated.
Good to see you again!
Those little motor pump units seem to be a good choice for an autonomous DIY plant watering device. Cheap enough to have one plus a humidity sensor per flowerpot and one arduino to control a bunch of them. Not terribly much water to pump over the course of a day.
The 'bump to get it working again' also works for lethargic co-workers... or over-volt them!🤣
Why do you think cattle prods were invented?😁
M7F just seems to be the good old M7 in the SMAF package (flat leads sticking out rather than J-lead). Also much thinner.
UA-cam has the sense of humour of a turnip.
C'mon. I know turnips who are *hilarious*.
Plus a rutabega who can do magic tricks. 😁
Hey! Don't insult Turnips! 😇
That is a moot point.
WHERE IS THE BURNING BEARD VIDEO?
I missed it and want to see it!
It's on my channel on Odysee.
Welcome back
Contact cleaner also works a treat on smaller motors, especially the geared micro-motors popular with hobbyists. Whilst these smaller motors are almost "throw-away", they can be kept running for years with a spot of regular care and maintenance.
Those B***s! 😥 But welcome back Clive 🤟
so happy to see you back! 💚
"strike from UA-cam for a harmless 18 second short where I singed the end of my beard with a lighter"
absolute jokes
UA-cam was probably like: "oh no we must take care of the little kids on this platform who already have a beard that they dont harm themselves. The parents dont need to set up protections because we will handle this" and with other channels/videos that are way worse and way more dangerous: "should we investigate? How about no! Lets take down random videos and channels that dont seriously break the law because why not"
@@309electronics5The corporate world has no sense of humour. In fact it's surgically removed during orientation after being promoted to middle management.
I have seen ones that trigger on any hot item near by. If this one pulses the diode to verify a hand is breaking the beam...then it is refined indeed.
A ban???? 🤔
Might it be the repeated reference to the kink palculator?
Problems on YT's server? A faulty stench coil perhaps? Dirt on the lens?
Glad to see you back Clive! It has been too long!
I guess we won’t be getting Clive’s new video on Tide Pods now ☹️
Sorry. I ate them all.
Glad you're back BC
two Michael Jackson references the glove and blowing bubbles. ☺
Interesting that it just took a kick off the PSU to turn the motor over. interesting internals 2x👍
Wasn't Bubbles the name of MJ's chimp?😉
I've had a couple of solar pond pumps come into the repair cafe recently. The motors seem to seize up during winter storage, pulsing 9-12V DC in usually gets them going. Once freed up, the solar cell is sufficient to run them again.
One of those "Repairable by smacking it"-items.
Guess a slight loss of contact on the motor brushes caused it to just be dead and not move. Extracting it probably fixed it.
lol how do you get banned? That’s crazy
Might relate to the recent poll. Pretty sad to hear that Clive might be given a hard time over what is effectively nothing.
Because toobs is a steaming pile of Cleveland.
For burning a part of his own bear or something like that.
@@martinrocket1436 thanks yeah I caught up now . Appreciate it
The motor getting stuck reminds me of when I was a computer technician in the late '80s. some hard drive motors would get stuck and to get them going again you had to spin the end of the spindle on the bottom of the drive that touched the grounding strap. You could then copy the data off onto another drive.
Oh, what sad times are these when a man can't light his own beard on fire! There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred...
Now I know what to do when one of my foam dispensers fail: Contribute them to science! 😅
Or such a parody would offend a Middle Eastern terrorist group that would complain and have it taken down as severe abuse.
Glad to see you back. I was wondering if the lack of videos recently was due to you checking if a capacitor was discharged with your fingers one time too many. 😝
I for one am looking forwards to the far-future bigclive video:
"Disassembling faulty google employee"
It would be fun to design the best formula for homemade shmoo liquid. Dish soap, water and a bit of glycerine perhaps? Any ideas?
I use shampoo and water or dish washing liquid and water.
Hey pal what was the ban for? Being too good
I don't know why the video got a strike.
All computer algorithms I think. Love your content. Always have. Sub since you were on 30k! Much love
I'll probably get a ban for saying the Scroogle algorithm "sucks dead mice through a garden hose"... 😎
Somebody complained. You know, there's always a nosy neighbor, cop, mod, etc., out there that trots out the old "it's for their own good"
@@sometimesleela5947 there always a "Daπned, Dirty, Karen" 😎
Is it really beneficial to have decoupling capacitors for something powered by a battery? MLC capacitors always seem to be failures waiting to happen, so it feels like avoiding them wherever possible might extend product life.
Decoupling capacitors are needed to avoid the processor glitching due to tiny voltage transients caused by switched loads. The low value MLCCs are less troublesome than the higher value ones.
Batteries can have a high internal resistance or oxidized contacts, leading to voltage drops in everything that consumes power in pulses like digital electronics.
The glove is given Michael Jackson vibes. Shamone!
That and blowing bubbles.
@@dcallan812if he does that on UA-cam, he’ll get a lifetime ban 😮😂
Motor seizing risks overheating, which would be really worrying with a lithium-ion cell. I have a standing fan I'm going to toss because it still works, but the friction has gotten the motor spicy to touch on any setting. Maybe I'll oil it and try to run it a litttle longer...
While in the Navy, we referred to those types of failures, or at least the 'fix', as FM. F'ing Magic. 😅
Similar vernacular is used in the railway too, at times. Same first word, second swapped-out for _„Mallard“_ in the example I'm thinking of... 😉
(Specifically: What was being uttered by the fitters when they saw just what _Mallards_ 126mph record breaking run had done to her valve gear and various other bits of the steam equipment. New boilers, please! 🚂🇬🇧💨🛠)
PFM in telecom-speak (P for Pure)
@@holysirsalad PFM was reserved as a response to our maintenance control chiefs when they asked what we did to fix it. "PFM Chief!" and walk out. 😁
There are still videos of that technique on here....but let's attack a short where no harm was done (except for a bit of bear beard.) YT is out of control.
there are barbers using fire on videos on YT RIGHT NOW AS WE SPEAK..
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. ????????
I saw the video in question and then it was removed... I thought at the time is was going to get you in trouble for it... oh well, Glad you're back!
Censors: "Who radicalized you?"
Vigilantes: *"You did."*
Hope your hand gets better soon virtual internet friend. Thank you for all your fabulous uploads 🥰🤗
There's a buffer of videos, but it has now healed.
Michael Jackson tribute video 😂 in more ways than one 👀
I tried the battery powered foam soap dispensers for a while but ended up just going back to the hand pump since they were finicky and over time lost power.
Good to get it working again - just in time for the next pandemic 😂 (bird flu?)
Is that due just before the General Election meaning they have to cancel and lock everyone down again? 🤔😉
I saw.. (I assume true) on YT that Japan has a flesh eating virus... 🤬
With the current economic crisis, even birds are finding flying an extravagance now. I'm going to suggest Bird *Walk* ... 😷🐓😋
My comment has vanished...
