Mayo and Galway suffered negatively in the new format, also as league champions were punished by lack of recovery time, no team should be asked to line out on the following week
A few tweaks - - Put a Provincial Final in each AIC Tier 1 group - After 3 games per team in both tiers, 4 group winners and 7 other 'best record' teams in a combined 16-team table advance to the 'KO 11'. - Middle 6 to Prelim QFs; top 5 get byes (not necessarily including all group winners) and bottom 5 eliminated.
Very good summary on the options for the championship going forward. It has and is impossible to please everyone as to what format to finalise, but overall I have been happy with the format standards since 2001 when Galway won the All-Ireland after being beaten by Roscommon in Connacht, Back Door as it was called.then. The super 8 format would be my choice
All I’d say is provincials should have no link to the all Ireland, they should be as significant as the league/fa cup. If you are good enough to stay in div 1/2 or get promoted from div 3 then you are good enough for the all Ireland, you shouldn’t be able to rely on the luck of the draw like Sligo did. Seedlings only based on league position will give the league more meaning and make it more entertaining, no more holding back. Ulster fans may disagree and i respect however if winning the ulster championship is about an easier ride in the later stages instead of being the best team in ulster (which that value can still be retained) then what’s the point anyway? I believe the other three will be more competitive with top teams playing second string teams (Leinster football outside of Dublin games is rather entertaining even though neither team has the quality to win the competition)
Have separate provincial championships then maybe the 4 provincial champions can play for a new trophy call it the all ireland provincial champions trophy or something.
Before listening: I'd say no. This year was a bit odd because of connacht. Rossies Galway and mayo all on one side. Should be fine next year. Looking forward to your response to see if you agree/ change my mind After: yeah pretty much agree with all your points
This is so stupid the changing of format bring it back to the old format super 8s In September that’s the way it should be this years one and last years was RUBBISH!

For starters get rid of that stupid mark ball, and no penalties from quarter finals on
Simple answer is either
scrap the league and continue the championship as normal
Continue the league but scrap the backdoor for the championship
