I was content buying my knight skin originally for the price. And yeah these skins are a massive step up between unique animations and effects. But I definitely don't recommend people go beyond the 50% off 10 pull. Or at most the first 30 pity. After that you get duplicates and it feels real bad.

Luckily they make so many of these skins not coordinate in a 100% aesthetic way. It takes the decision making out of it. 90% of even the "cool" skins like ridiculous. Especially when we know they are mostly just asset libraries tweaked, and they have teams of designers trend casting bullshit years ahead of the curve. I have a friend who got the bike before the skin set. But ya the way the odds are weighted the skin set and bike are all but guaranteed to be the last 2 items it feels.
What you should've done to save a little more money as you got your fragments from duplicates, convert the fragments for 10 ingots and use those 10 ingots on the first 10 pulls of your last round of 30 pulls. Then penny the pulls so you spent on 20, rather than on the full 30. But w/e now you got RNG lootbox currency to use for the next money grab. Only problem with that is if you even use those fragments to buy something from the next lootcrates, you know now that if you buy something early you're just going to end up with more fragments back if the dup pops.
That sucks. There's no worse feeling than being in that spot where you went into the gacha loot box system, deep enough to feel bad about the money. Then not getting what you want.
I got fairly lucky I think I spent about $160 before I got everything, I was super stoked. and I'm happy to put my money into something with passionate devs behind it. Considering this game was free from the start and how much time I've put in and the friends I've met I find it worth every penny so far.

Functionally I would have loved a car skin. The bike in PvP is not a good idea. I exclusively use the bike now though... so that the flames will hide the pain of the cost.

The skins are actually really cool with unique animations, effects etc unlike most games with similar systems. They kinda went all out. But I really do wish it was just a straight purchase. I did one half price pull for 10 and got the green cradle, two custom crates, the pyro weapon paint and the pyro ornament. Overall I don’t think I can complain as I had almost no duplicates and just used spare crystogin. Damn, second video I’ve seen of people pulling where the Pyro glide is the very last thing given after an insane $250-300 spend. Without secondary markets to sell this later, it’s hard to justify.
Nice, congrats! I personally think anyone who wants to spend and support, the 50% off first 10x pull is reasonable. You get 10 random skins and you help the devs out. Beyond that though. There's lots of issues and improvements they can make that have been discussed throughout the comments.

It's not great, but its also not the worst out there. If they added a way to slowly get the currency in game for f2p and reduced the pity a bit it could be solid middle ground of making money while also keeping players happy. It just really sucks after the half way point. every pull is duplicates and just feels like literally burning money.
I've watched at least 5 videos of people pulling for the bike. And it is not luck, it is money spent. Every video I have seen, after $130 do you have any chance of getting the Pyro Glide. No one has gotten it before that point, So far.
I had two friends, who's voices were cameo'd in this video. We were all pulling the boxes at the same time. I spent $350, one of them spent around $250 and the last got real lucky and spent $150. And he had enough left over to get the patio set housing cosmetics. So it is possible to get lucky, but remember the bike and gear skins are I believe a 0.4% chance. So it's much more likely that you will spend the average cost because you'll have to hit the 30 pull pity to get those.
Sadly when I was recording I didn't know that. I put it down in a highly lit room in the video and was like, ah... thats dumb its just a little crystal thing. Not till I read another commenters post about it did I learn that it can project galaxies onto walls if its in a dark room. It's surprisingly cool with like 3+ projection options.
I cried in Canadian with you watching this. I spent $73 to buy the glass skins for my base & I don't regret it, but holy Christ still on the Cross, do I ever wish our currency didn't suck! I was on a day 1 server so we've already transitioned to a new one. I love grinding and the reset while moving to a Hard mode server has felt great. I get to make a whole new base design. All of the mystical crates are back giving more blueprint fragments to upgrade to higher star ratings. And hard mode has spiced it up with better loot (tier 3 areas drop gold mods now) as well as challenging void/balance enemies, like the mystic crate crab dudes. Who shoot triple homing bolts and chase you down. All of the starcrom is earnable again too so having the journey and season goals back gave us things to do again.

So we don't own the game, Can't buy the thing we want in the game, but can buy the same thing you already paid for if you spend enough. This just solidified I will not spend a red cent on this game. When Fallout 1st seems affordable by comparison.
The timing was so perfect too because I had almost considered getting this bundle. The second I found out it was a try for it bullshit like the wish machine but with real world dollars I knew to avoid any desire to do so. I possess no more than a passing interest in this game now and hope the few things they did well that streamline these types of games gets adopted into other similar titles. This game stole fallout 76 code and is buggy af and because it isn't bethesda noone is complaining. Its like how helldivers refuses to balance the game, but keeps releasing battlepasses that offer weapons with the same stats as the starting weapons. If you can't become overpowerd through natural progression make the game 100% random which with some of the damage numbers and cheap attacks they use instead of actual boss mechanics feels like the experience already. Enemies should never be spongey. And when the character gets better they should always die faster unless they are bigger or more armored and even still overpowered should mean it. Idk. I just hate how MMO ruins RPG. They take away the freedom of an rpg and require identical progression with random rewards.
I'm still having fun, and I'll keep playing until that changes. I'm not sure about how your gameplay has gone but every upgrade I get I notice the difference in kill speeds on things like LEA. Mods are most of the damage increases then i think set bonuses are a close second. I do wish I could try all of the guns and gear first though so I knew which to buy outright with starchrom though

I've heard they have a system that is supposed to merge servers each phase to keep populations up. But somehow the functionality broke near launch and they disabled it for the rest of the first season. If that comes back, it would definitely fix a lot of things. I was on a PvP server that stayed mostly populated, and made new friends that are bloodthirsty enough that we hit ever cargo scramble every day for nonstop PvP fun. I feel my happiness with the game is because of it.

I'm okay with them having both pay direct and gacha like this. But I would like the gacha to have either a cheaper price, or have the currency earnable even if at a slow rate in the game. It sucks to not be able to get this stuff for f2p players.

yeah they really need to label it a bit better. I was so mad. I edited out like 8 minutes of us flipping out about it because it seemed like using the shards on the axe would make it out of the pool. But it just refunded the shards when the axe showed up in the pulls. I had to reread the fine text and everything multiple times to realize how it works and most people aren't as forgiving as me. I could see a lot of folks getting upset about it. I don't think the devs intentionally tried to mislead in the way it did for me. We made an assumption and got burned for it.

Sadly its the evolution that gaming took. Microtransactions, loot boxes, battle passes, etc. I'm not happy about it but it works as a business model. There's more games now that do these things than not, as it's become the standard. I don't think we can change the entire population of gamers and publishers agendas at this point so I try to be optimistic to keep my hobby fun. If almost every game does it, I at least have to find the ones that I enjoy with devs that communicate and care. Not all game studios can survive from a full paid game experience anymore like Baldurs Gate 3 or Elden Ring. The ones that try and fail, you don't hear about them as they just close shop and fade away. Personally, I'd love to go back to buying an NES cartridge. Putting it in my console and it being a complete game. Devs back then didn't get the option for patches, so they made either better games, or buggy messes.
I'm actually excited for the resets. But I'm a little bit insane and love grinding and trying out new things. The gambling here is optional and cosmetic so it's not the worst (they gotta make money somehow I guess), but I do think they need to add a non paid way to get the currency. That way no matter the financial status, a player can at least have the ability to get some of these.

I have 9.7 million dollars in from inheritence in savings and I will not even put a single dollar on a gatcha based game . When I want cosmetics I prefer to choose what I want to buy not gamble on what I want to buy . That is the worse system ever to be put into a game for cosmetics . I would also prefer to just buy the skins that I want direct. In this case I only would have bought the armor skin and the axe, as those are things I use/like the most. But I also do like all of them. These loot box systems were created many years ago and prey on a lot of things like gambling dopamine etc and the reason they still exist is that as a business practice, it works. Yes I don't like it. Yes I'm part of the problem by spending on it. But I also had a lot of fun in that session, got a video to entertain and showcase the system for others. If you like the game and want to support it's devs, at least they do have some skins that are straight up purchase in the shop. So the duplicates turn into those lightforge relics (shards/tokens). It's random what you pull and some give 1, 3, 10 etc. Based on how it was going for me though, your more likely to actually get the set from the guarantee system before you'd get the 300 tokens. Based on in game information the tokens are kept and in theory, will be usable on the next set of cosmetics that come out. For reference, I ended with 265 after all of that.
If you got both weapon skins in the first 10, that's super lucky! And ya, if it wasn't cosmetic people would riot. I don't mind supporting them since this is my hobby and I'm almost at 500 hours played. But I definitely would prefer to buy the skins direct and skip the torture of my bad luck.

I got the Axe, ak skin, LMG skin, Full Armor set skin, emote, bunny and hat attachments and metal create. My question as im a bit confused. If I buy another 10 am I right in saying iv a 50% chance at the bike? as I got all the others with my first pull?
Nah, as you'll see in the video, every 30 is a "pity"/guarantee at one of the 5 special skins. If you managed to pull the axe, ak, armor set. you should see check marks on those 3 of 5 and if it was the first 10x pull it should show 10/30 for your next guarantee. So you'd have to pull 20 more, and you'd have a 50/50 at the constellation light, or the bike skin.

Like games often pay this much for skins that aren't with unique animations, effects etc. But pulling only duplicates for shards after the half way mark starts to feel really bad. They need to either have more cosmetics in the pool so your always getting new stuff each pull or reduce the total pity in my opinion.

Did the one-pull discount reset daily or the same as 10 pulls which is a one time deal? since usually in some games (mostly mobile games) the 10 pulls are discounted once while the one pull is a daily discount. Has anyone tried it or got any info?
After acquiring the skins you go into your build menu. Then there's a tab called "Prints" you find the desired one, select it and then put it overtop whichever boxes you want. Works the same with the wallpapers and stuff like that.
Spending money on cosmetics in a video game is entirely a personal choice. I can't in good conscious tell anyone if it's worth it or not for you. I personally have 670 hours played as of this message. I wanted to support the game I'm enjoying and I happened to love the aesthetic of these skins. So for me, I don't regret it. But I also still think it's overly expensive. $350 would have got me a lot of games on a Steam sale.

But then when I see something I want in my hobbies, I just buy it. Usually go through multiple stages of denial after because it was a bad idea. It's greedy and a few other words for sure. But not a scam, scam would indicate that they promised one thing and gave something else. Nexon with maple story where they put in loot boxes and then later sneakily removed the chance at getting the primary thing the loot boxes were for is an example of an actual scam. Apparently they got investigated, fined a seemingly large amount of money but it was only like 2-3% of the profits from the scam.... Here though, I just didn't read/understand correctly. It was all provided up front and they delivered as they promised. No scam, just consumer un-friendly & expensive monetization.

From what I’ve seen, you basically have to spend the full $300 something to get the motorcycle because the game makes you have to buy everything else.
I have a friend that got lucky and got it all in $150. But on average most people do seem to be around that $300 or so yeah.

Loot boxes are really killing this game for me.
I like a lot about the game, and they've already added a lot of new things. I'm optimistic for it's future. I can definitely understand the loot boxes being controversial though. I'd prefer to just buy the skins directly.

Yeah, this was the last time I spent money on loot boxes in this game, lol. Got the bike and skin after 1.5k. Really liked the aesthetics of those two items but never doing this shit again.
Hopefully they make it a bit better from all of our feedback. There's definitely ways to make it more player friendly while still making them money.
Got the axe after $70 but all the same crap in the rest. My rolls basically look the same as yours.
Just gotta make a full melee build to enjoy it with. Mine cracks skulls for 60k crits and now I look good doin it :P

I did one half price pull for 10 and got the green cradle, two custom crates, the pyro weapon paint and the pyro ornament. Overall I don’t think I can complain as I had almost no duplicates and just used spare crystogin. Damn, second video I’ve seen of people pulling where the Pyro glide is the very last thing given after an insane $250-300 spend. Without secondary markets to sell this later, it’s hard to justify.
Nice, congrats! I personally think anyone who wants to spend and support, the 50% off first 10x pull is reasonable. You get 10 random skins and you help the devs out. Beyond that though. There's lots of issues and improvements they can make that have been discussed throughout the comments.

thse devs wannabe nexon. 350 for a skin is crazy. they wil make more money than a tripple A game. i did a few and never got a ingot. just skummy over expensive stunt.
It's not great, but its also not the worst out there. If they added a way to slowly get the currency in game for f2p and reduced the pity a bit it could be solid middle ground of making money while also keeping players happy. It just really sucks after the half way point. every pull is duplicates and just feels like literally burning money.
I've watched at least 5 videos of people pulling for the bike. And it is not luck, it is money spent. Every video I have seen, after $130 do you have any chance of getting the Pyro Glide. No one has gotten it before that point, So far.
I had two friends, who's voices were cameo'd in this video. We were all pulling the boxes at the same time. I spent $350, one of them spent around $250 and the last got real lucky and spent $150. And he had enough left over to get the patio set housing cosmetics. So it is possible to get lucky, but remember the bike and gear skins are I believe a 0.4% chance. So it's much more likely that you will spend the average cost because you'll have to hit the 30 pull pity to get those.

Sadly when I was recording I didn't know that. I put it down in a highly lit room in the video and was like, ah... thats dumb its just a little crystal thing. Not till I read another commenters post about it did I learn that it can project galaxies onto walls if its in a dark room. It's surprisingly cool with like 3+ projection options.
the bike skin is kind of lame, they need to make the trail longer and bigger and maybe put a skull on your head as a helmet (ghost rider reference)

Are you looking forward to the server reset? For me it will be the first game I've experienced it in & I'm nervous lmao. I need to find a more populated server, though, 'cause the one I'm in feels dead!
I was on a day 1 server so we've already transitioned to a new one. I love grinding and the reset while moving to a Hard mode server has felt great. I get to make a whole new base design. All of the mystical crates are back giving more blueprint fragments to upgrade to higher star ratings. And hard mode has spiced it up with better loot (tier 3 areas drop gold mods now) as well as challenging void/balance enemies, like the mystic crate crab dudes. Who shoot triple homing bolts and chase you down. All of the starcrom is earnable again too so having the journey and season goals back gave us things to do again.

So we don't own the game, Can't buy the thing we want in the game, but can buy the same thing you already paid for if you spend enough. This just solidified I will not spend a red cent on this game. When Fallout 1st seems affordable by comparison.
The timing was so perfect too because I had almost considered getting this bundle. The second I found out it was a try for it bullshit like the wish machine but with real world dollars I knew to avoid any desire to do so. I possess no more than a passing interest in this game now and hope the few things they did well that streamline these types of games gets adopted into other similar titles. This game stole fallout 76 code and is buggy af and because it isn't bethesda noone is complaining. Its like how helldivers refuses to balance the game, but keeps releasing battlepasses that offer weapons with the same stats as the starting weapons. If you can't become overpowerd through natural progression make the game 100% random which with some of the damage numbers and cheap attacks they use instead of actual boss mechanics feels like the experience already. Enemies should never be spongey. And when the character gets better they should always die faster unless they are bigger or more armored and even still overpowered should mean it. Idk. I just hate how MMO ruins RPG. They take away the freedom of an rpg and require identical progression with random rewards.
I'm still having fun, and I'll keep playing until that changes. I'm not sure about how your gameplay has gone but every upgrade I get I notice the difference in kill speeds on things like LEA. Mods are most of the damage increases then i think set bonuses are a close second. I do wish I could try all of the guns and gear first though so I knew which to buy outright with starchrom though

BUT the servers dying fast and there they don't do nothing ... i mean they need to merge the servers.. also in China i think this skins you buy with starchrom from wish machine... is sus
I've heard they have a system that is supposed to merge servers each phase to keep populations up. But somehow the functionality broke near launch and they disabled it for the rest of the first season. If that comes back, it would definitely fix a lot of things. I was on a PvP server that stayed mostly populated, and made new friends that are bloodthirsty enough that we hit ever cargo scramble every day for nonstop PvP fun. I feel my happiness with the game is because of it.

I'm okay with them having both pay direct and gacha like this. But I would like the gacha to have either a cheaper price, or have the currency earnable even if at a slow rate in the game. It sucks to not be able to get this stuff for f2p players.

yeah they really need to label it a bit better. I was so mad. I edited out like 8 minutes of us flipping out about it because it seemed like using the shards on the axe would make it out of the pool. But it just refunded the shards when the axe showed up in the pulls. I had to reread the fine text and everything multiple times to realize how it works and most people aren't as forgiving as me. I could see a lot of folks getting upset about it. I don't think the devs intentionally tried to mislead in the way it did for me. We made an assumption and got burned for it.

Sadly its the evolution that gaming took. Microtransactions, loot boxes, battle passes, etc. I'm not happy about it but it works as a business model. There's more games now that do these things than not, as it's become the standard. I don't think we can change the entire population of gamers and publishers agendas at this point so I try to be optimistic to keep my hobby fun. If almost every game does it, I at least have to find the ones that I enjoy with devs that communicate and care. Not all game studios can survive from a full paid game experience anymore like Baldurs Gate 3 or Elden Ring. The ones that try and fail, you don't hear about them as they just close shop and fade away. Personally, I'd love to go back to buying an NES cartridge. Putting it in my console and it being a complete game. Devs back then didn't get the option for patches, so they made either better games, or buggy messes.

I'm actually excited for the resets. But I'm a little bit insane and love grinding and trying out new things. The gambling here is optional and cosmetic so it's not the worst (they gotta make money somehow I guess), but I do think they need to add a non paid way to get the currency. That way no matter the financial status, a player can at least have the ability to get some of these.

I have 9.7 million dollars in from inheritence in savings and I will not even put a single dollar on a gatcha based game . When I want cosmetics I prefer to choose what I want to buy not gamble on what I want to buy . That is the worse system ever to be put into a game for cosmetics . Gathca games = casino slot machines from your very home and all it cost is a card instead of a coin . I know when a game is rigged and that is rigged . 100% chance to get it if you roll 30 times ? That does not scream its rigged than yeah .......
I would also prefer to just buy the skins that I want direct. In this case I only would have bought the armor skin and the axe, as those are things I use/like the most. But I also do like all of them. These loot box systems were created many years ago and prey on a lot of things like gambling dopamine etc and the reason they still exist is that as a business practice, it works. Yes I don't like it. Yes I'm part of the problem by spending on it. But I also had a lot of fun in that session, got a video to entertain and showcase the system for others. If you like the game and want to support it's devs, at least they do have some skins that are straight up purchase in the shop. Most gacha style games only have the gacha, so... it's slightly better here. Slightly.

So the duplicates turn into those lightforge relics (shards/tokens). It's random what you pull and some give 1, 3, 10 etc. Based on how it was going for me though, your more likely to actually get the set from the guarantee system before you'd get the 300 tokens. Based on in game information the tokens are kept and in theory, will be usable on the next set of cosmetics that come out. For reference, I ended with 265 after all of that.

I got one 10x and I was annoyed at how it worked for the cost. after watching this I feel Crazy lucky but still feel its more of a scam. I got the Axe, ak skin, LMG skin, Full Armor set skin, emote, bunny and hat attachments and metal create. My question as im a bit confused. If I buy another 10 am I right in saying iv a 50% chance at the bike? as I got all the others with my first pull?
Nah, as you'll see in the video, every 30 is a "pity"/guarantee at one of the 5 special skins. If you managed to pull the axe, ak, armor set. you should see check marks on those 3 of 5 and if it was the first 10x pull it should show 10/30 for your next guarantee. So you'd have to pull 20 more, and you'd have a 50/50 at the constellation light, or the bike skin.

I've seen worse, value wise. Like games often pay this much for skins that aren't with unique animations, effects etc. But pulling only duplicates for shards after the half way mark starts to feel really bad. They need to either have more cosmetics in the pool so your always getting new stuff each pull or reduce the total pity in my opinion.

since usually in some games (mostly mobile games) the 10 pulls are discounted once while the one pull is a daily discount.

After acquiring the skins you go into your build menu. Then there's a tab called "Prints" you find the desired one, select it and then put it overtop whichever boxes you want. Works the same with the wallpapers and stuff like that.

Spending money on cosmetics in a video game is entirely a personal choice. I can't in good conscious tell anyone if it's worth it or not for you. I personally have 670 hours played as of this message. I wanted to support the game I'm enjoying and I happened to love the aesthetic of these skins. So for me, I don't regret it. But I also still think it's overly expensive. $350 would have got me a lot of games on a Steam sale.
@DovazX i havent even played over 50hrs yet i am pretty new in the game but i am slowly seeing how the developers are passionate abt their game especially when i put the piano furniture getting to see that it was ineractable and i played with it. But then when I see something I want in my hobbies, I just buy it. Usually go through multiple stages of denial after because it was a bad idea. But I only do it usually once or twice a year with either a games cosmetics or like, a collectors edition of a game.

I don't think people are crying about the cost because of being broke. I'd expect it's more the value proposition. You can get multiple games, a month of groceries, or even upgrade your computer parts for the average price of the skins.

It's greedy and a few other words for sure. But not a scam, scam would indicate that they promised one thing and gave something else. Nexon with maple story where they put in loot boxes and then later sneakily removed the chance at getting the primary thing the loot boxes were for is an example of an actual scam. Apparently they got investigated, fined a seemingly large amount of money but it was only like 2-3% of the profits from the scam.... Here though, I just didn't read/understand correctly. It was all provided up front and they delivered as they promised. No scam, just consumer un-friendly & expensive monetization.

It's "buy 5 x 30 tickets". You might get the other stuff, but chances (0.4%) are low that you get the cycle skin before the 5th guaranteed (150 tickets a 160 currency) roll. Scam.
