- Here is my Waze app experiment to see if I can spot the cops. The Waze app features police alerts to spot nearby cop/police cars but how accurate is it? Do you know how to use the Waze map to spot the police or is the app a bust? Share your experience below!

Today I filmed my first Waze experiment! This is my first time using the app so I wanted to get on the road and see how accurate it is in finding nearby police. What has been your experience with Waze? What are some secrets to using the app properly and to unlock its full potential? Let's get a open discussion below to share your thoughts. 😎
I’ve used it for years and it definitely works. Haven’t been pulled over in years. Just today I was on the freeway and saw the little police icon pop up so I knew to slow down, and what do you know, he was right there trying to make his quota for the month (he actually said that) I just said, you’re welcome....
Lots of cops have the app to see when they get tagged running a trap at a location and will then move on for a while but often stay in the general area. When the location doesn’t show on the app anymore they sometimes move back.
They also use it when they aren’t on duty.
@@chrisb9960 That's crazy bro! I would have never thought cops are legit using Waze
@@TheGrimRunner Yea, they don’t want people rolling up on them. Plus if one of their buddies writes 50 tickets in a month and another writes 15 it looks like either someone is being too hard on the citizens or the other is being lazy.
@@chrisb9960 That's crazy man smh
The app doesn't (detect) cops. It totally depends on crowd sources. Users must tag the cop location's. It's as accurate as its users.
Thanks for the info bro! As i started to use the app more I finally figured out that's how it works. Thanks again 😎

Hey man. I trust you have a good since of humor?
In the UA-cam surch bar, put in Black Waze.
100% true. You have to report if you see something.
Radar AND Waze is my combo. NO guarantees but in my 3k mile trek to LV I tested it extensively and had very good results. You must stay alert.
Nice. Thanks for the information. I'll be looking into a radar soon 😎
same here uniden R7
I live in Vegas . Every time I go to phx I use Waze .. it’s honestly saved my ass 6 times .. I know that long boring stretch you speak of - 😉
people who are in waze help each other out that’s how u avoid a ticket enjoy speeding 👍🏻
Right! I learned as I started using more and it's definitely helpful.
Deffinately true, as every waze user becomes part of our waze family. :)
Yes waze app is a best weapon against cops and speed traps I get pulled over by California Highway Patrol 3 months ago my Speeding ticket is already Dismissed but since of that I learned a lesson I installed waze app and I always turn it on every time I'm doing a Road trip so they can't catch me again and I still Speeding up.
It’s helped me out a bit I have a 700 hp n/a camned 6th gen Camaro I have fun as always and waze helps a ton I’ve averaged 80 mph on highway even 85 mph in faster traffic/better weather and saved me within 1/2 to 3/4 mile from a cop as I once hit 110-120 not even trying as I was slowing down from a 70-170 pull
Been using this app for the longest. I use it every-time I drive. Saves me a lot of time and money.
That's what's up fam. I'm starting to like the app more and more. It's definitely a solid choice and every helpful
It helps me with speed cameras.
I use it all the time and it works, more people need to get up with it,I usually put a cop on hot areas even if there's not one so no one else gets trapped..Hemi-Rican Channel coming soon Chrysler 300s Hemi 5.7🙌
Thanks for the feedback bro. I'm definitely going to keep using the app and learning all the ins and outs. Let me know when you start your channel so I can check you out 💯🙏🏾
WAZE is a community-driven app that relies heavily on the users to alert each other as they drive. Given that it is community-driven, the police can also monitor if their location has been posted.
It is very accurate. Every speed checkpoint that Waze detected had a cop at that exact location though there were a decent amount of cars reporting it
Nice! After using it I agree it definitely can be accurate
Never fear Alvin is here usually i get alerts for police when i have a route im using not just driving with app on
I normally don't choose no if I pass by a tagged location and they aren't there, due to just what you said about it can be tricky. Cops can leave for a minute, and then come back to the spot, or move a block up.
That's exactly what I had to find out bro. I actually love the app now that I figured out it's user based and we ourselves can leave alerts. It's solid for sure
It actually does work! I didn't even realize it, until I was right on top of the a cop car!
Yeah I got it figured out now lol. It’s a cool app for sure
The app doesn’t report moving cops but only when they’re stationary. Great vid
Damn you are everywhere 😂
@@Dizastaaaa 😂🤷🏾♂️got to get my name out
Definitely gonna try this app tomorrow
😎💯
The way it works is people point out where the cops are at. So if you see a cop on the road you place a marker and pretty much tag them where you saw them.
Thanks for the info fam. I figured that’s how it worked after using it a few times lol
That orange at the bottom right u will notate them when u see them other users confirm or deny , they remove if denied , so u will only see them if they are added by users
Thanks for the information!
Waze is the truth💯
I definitely like part of it bro. I think I need to get a better understanding of how the cop feature works but the layout is dope!
@@TheGrimRunner Tbh, I've never utilized the app on my U connect (strictly thru the phone so far) n it doesn't give u a precise pin point location of where a cop is hiding, but close enough...also I can tell u this, if there's debris or potholes in ur path ahead, it'll forewarn u to be on the lookout for em... unlike Google maps, it can source alternative routes thru traffic stoppages n monitor ur vehicle speed in real time.
@@gurrillakidd78 That's sick af bro. I'm definitely going to be testing the app out more to get better understanding of how it works. The design is A1. Thanks for shooting that info as well!
@@TheGrimRunner no prob bro💯
Haven’t used this yet but if friends can see each other’s location this could be good for group motorcycle rides.
Definitely!
Waze doesn’t tell you when or where a cop is ….. it’s user base cloud support it and if they see something they report it. Most times if a traffic cops been spotted they’ll move unless it’s a main road or interstate or what ever you guys call it over there. And users need to stop their car for a safety feature to report it sometimes people won’t stop and do it when the cop leaves there view meaning it will be off a little bit
Yessir. I figured out how it worked using it awhile. Thank you!
I just be using cruise control in hot places
Definitely finna get it especially over here in Florida
Yeah it’s Mando bro. Definitely a BIG help lol
Waze app saved me by many many many tickets....not even kidding
I definitely believe you. It’s a great tool when utilized correctly!
Brown Jose Thomas Richard Garcia Thomas
I've used Waze for long 1200 mile trips and I'm pretty sure you have to pin the police location yourself. There's a lot of people who use it so it's *typically* accurate but you may also be the first to see a cop in a new location.
Oh and the police pins will stay there until its told that the cop is no longer there.
@@MollyTorment Thank you for the informative information! I think I finally started to get a realization it may work that way once I played with the app a little more and say you could send alerts yourself. I'm loving it so far
@@TheGrimRunner yeah it's saved me for when I had a good stretch in my Cadillac ats 2.0t awd but there was a cop sitting on the highway
@@MollyTorment Nice. Thank you again for filling me in. I appreciate it
It 100% relies on users to say where they are it doesn’t pick them up as u drive past
You're absolutely right. That is something I have learned as I started using the app more
Is the speed on that app accurate? I have bigger rims so my speedo slightly off by 4 mph. Please anyone let me know thanks
At the minimum they have to keep switching spots
The cops watch waze for speeding fools
Williams Deborah Lopez Larry Hernandez Joseph
It’s only as accurate as the information that other “wazer” put in and verify.
waze and uniden R7
This dude has no idea how it works.

Good looking bro 🙏🏾💯
nice ride
Thanks fam!
Mines work perfectly
Mine does as well. I was just learning the app in this video but I got it figured out 😎
@@TheGrimRunner I’ve been using it for about 3-years
@@robertowens2133 Nice 🙏🏾
This app is stupid. Does NOT let you report where a cop is at!!! So who is putting in the locations where the police are at if we the customers can't report where the cops are at??!!! So stupid! Why can't I share a location of the cops that is not showing on the app???
When I first started using Waze I used to report every cop that I saw in traffic but the problem with that was the cop being on the move and the next user probably not seeing them in the same place I reported. It still helps to let you know a cop is in the area but someone new to the app might think it was a false mark/location. On the highways they tend to sit in one spot for a while so those locations are usually a little more accurate. Like A.M. said in their comment I just take the warning as the area being hot and adjust my speed and listen to my detector.
Thanks for the information fam! Now that I have started using the app more I’ve figured out that’s how it works lol. It’s definitely a great tool and has saved me from tickets already
Exaclty same here. I still report every single cop even if I pass them as they’re driving. As long as it is a cop whose jurisdiction it is that I see them in I still report it & just put “hidden”. I have another app that allows me to report police too & on that one it gives the option of “viable or hidden” but then it will as where the cop is & there’s an option for “in the area” so that helps to tell the driver that the cop may not be in ONE spot but he’s likely SOMEWHERE in the general vicinity so to be careful along that stretch in general.
@@kay-collins o thats a good idea.
I once had my license revoked from too many speeding tickets ...
Ever since I started using Waze, I haven’t had one ticket.
We got each others backs.
Nice! Definitely do not need any more speeding tickets. Insurance rates start going through the roof. Waze is a life saver
Yep, please report if you see a cop. We are all helping each other out. 👍
Damn you're fine
@@boomerang6130 yup
DAMN get off the road menace 😭
I used it all way from arkansas to South Carolina and Virginia. Helped me out...Man I rode dirty all the way there!!! #DestroyerGrayChallenger
Lol. That's what's up bro! 😂 I'm trying to get used to app but I'll start using it soon
Definitely use Waze on the Interstate. That and a radar detector will save you money. I always use both together.
Thanks a lot bro. I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm starting to get a better hang as to how this app works. I've been using it all day lol
which radar app??
I use the Waze app with the Escort Max 360c radar detector. Do your research at Vortexradar.com. It has saved me from a lot of tickets using both a radar detector and Waze app.😎
So true, I am using both. Remember, waze is only as good as the users who are doing the reporting. I am new to waze. I actually prefer it to google maps but I love google maps also. Remember, you have to report if you see something. This helps the whole community out. Sometimes, the police was there but now has gone. Be sure to also report this (if the cop is no longer there) to clear the location. 👍
@@pbrdoug4962 Yep, you need both for max. protection. 😁
Can’t wait! I’ve used the app and I’m curious to see your experience
Thanks bro! This was my first time ever using Waze. I was a bit confused but it was an interesting expriment for sure!
Looks legit but what happens the one time when you loosen up and the app doesnt detect the cop 🤣
Right bro! Lol. That's why I had to get out and do a test run. It's a super dope app but it doesn't seem 100% accurate because anyone can leave a location showing where the cops are
The app doesn't (detect) cops. It depends on crowded information.
@@TheGrimRunner when you leave a pin of a cop or another road issue on the map, other Waze users who pass by the same place are asked to either say thanks or not there! So it will disappear if the cops are not there!
@@brooklynbrand6982 Thanks for info fam! I’m now getting a full grasp on how this app works. It’s pretty dope
When the app shows you cops, normally it means that it is a hot area. You just need to apply the speed limit and it does not matter if you dont see them bcoz they are always there. The app does not lie.👌
Thanks for the heads up fam. I've started to realize how it works as I used it more. Dope app for sure 💪🏾
Its a way for us to communicate with each other.
If nobody pins the cops then it won’t work.
Thanks fam. I started to find out that's how it works as I used the app more and really dove into the interface. I love it so far. It's definitely a good help

I drive a crown Victoria police interceptor and this app oh my god. When I first got this app I was scared because everyone marked me as the police 😭 and I was freaking out wondering where the police is if it was behind me or not

You’re doing great because when u mark the cops u have the option to hit “hidden” or In view It shows stopped cars , missing signs Pot holes everything man sorry for multiple comments
You're totally fine bro! I actually appreciate the feedback. Thank you
Why are you reviewing something you don't understand. This App does not track cops, it only points out where someone reported seeing a cop previously. Cops are usually moving and could be anywhere by the time you see it on your screen, maybe he's behind you watching you drive with a selfie stick, duh..... I think you just like to show your mug and listen to yourself talk with no knowledge whatsoever.
God bless you miserable fella 🙏🏾
i wanna make a map app like waze but for car enthusiast so it has speed zones to see how fast you can go and it sets up that speed for anyone in that area to try and beat it
That would be sick bro! Great idea 😎
Not gonna happen bro, some features are prohibited from Google and apple store .
Waze only shows officers if another user reports seeing them . It doesn’t just pick up on their cars . That’s why sometimes it will say they are there but they aren’t they were most likely just there not too long ago and some reported it but they left .
Yup you’re right fam. I started to learn that As I used the app more 💪🏾
Holy shit ppl .. READ !!! Everybody is saying the same damn thing 😖😖😖
Lol 😂
I've used it for at least a year. Works great on the highway. Let's u know about cops and vehicles on the side everytime.
Good looking out bro. I'm going to do a few more tests with the app by itself 😎💯
And if you see 2 or 3 in the same spot you definitely have to slow your role. I only use it on the highway.
It’s all user driven. Other drivers set the pings. The police could move by the time you’re in that zone.
You’re right. After using the app more I figured out that’s how it works 💪🏾
It's driver that was on that street before you that mark the cop object on the road car on side of road it's drivers helping driver just hit the orange icon
Yessir. You're right bro. As I played with the app more I got a better understanding of how it works
Hey your in Las Vegas. Be careful metro is brutal.
Yessir! Thanks for the heads up
Cops do check waze and when they see someone tagged their location they move to another area to catch people off guard. Its why I'm glad thaf google maps and apple maps have this feature now it makes it harder for cops to check where they got tagged.
only as accurate as the person that enters the information. Maybe your friends in their cars should follow the law instead of 'having fun' in their cars on our roadways ........take your fun time to a track and have all the fun you want.
Waze is my favorite app use it everyday 😂😂😂
I'm already knowing bro. Lol 😂

Google maps has cops on the map
It’s a 50/50 but it’s better then none at all.. I been using this for a while it’ll tell me a cop around and it would be a normal ass Toyota side by side to me. But it still gives a heads up
Lol that’s funny bro 😂 So far I like the app though. You’re right, it’s definitely better than nothing
Its user generated bobby.. it needs to have people see it and report it before you so you can see it

It's a great app trust me. After using it awhile and starting to learn the ropes it definitely is a great tool to have
I use it when I travel and it has never let me down not once in ten years.
My friend the app is so someone to pin the cop on the app it’s not going to tell you were the cops are
I used WAZE for the first time this week.. From Sanibel Island to Port Richey Florida I pulled on to interstate 75, for the first 25 miles or so WAZE alerted me (verbally) 4 times that there was a report of police ahead. And 4 times there was a state trooper. It also alerted me of vehicles on the side of the road and minor construction. The GPS worked fine until I hit major road changes and construction on I275 in St Pete. It messed me up even though I knew where I was going I still was confused and wound up on the bridge. Anyway people actually report the police & autos. You can hit a button and select if the police are still there. So that's how the app knows. I used this once so I really don't know what I'm doing with it yet. There's a lot more stuff this app does. I kinda think that people on the interstate are more likely to report than people just driving around town on short trips.
FYI, this app does not mean it stalks cops. It is just meant for you, other drivers and I to let you know or alert you of something a long the road/route weather be a speed trap, constuctions, accidents, vehicles stopped or your girlfriend stalking you. If the driver before you did not put the alert, then it won't show you anything......but all other techs that you are on now knows how many you choked a chicken....oulalalalal
The police have no way of interfering with your waze app. The waze app doesn't mark police spots at all! The user marks the spot where the police are. Your trying to judge the apps accuracy and do not understand the users place the cops location. As soon as you touch the screen to mark the location that is where the police officer will appear, even if you drive further away and complete your mark on on the map it will always show up where you originally started your mark! Yes your doing something wrong hehe
Best app it save me a lot money 💰
Yes indeed 💪🏾💯
