@@-EchoesIntoEternity- Agreed. He's too comfortable over in Britain.
😂😂😂 This is a BRILLIANT idea 😂
I tried it as a drinking game.
Bad idea.
And every time you say it you have to put a buck or a five in a jar!!! Lmbo help pay for all the food you want to eat when your here.
Not sure if you know but in the US lemonade is not carbonated like Sprite. Its juice made with lemon juice, sugar and other fruits to make different flavors.
Many fast food places in the southern US serve lemonade, along with tea and fountain drinks. I think Chick fil As lemonade is the best.
Yeah, I was gonna say that I doubt he's ever even had real lemonade or knows the difference. It's so weird that the UK and many other places think that Sprite is lemonade. Nope people, Sprite is lemon/lime flavored carbonated soda and lemonade is lemonade 😂
So does Penn station @@joykind4258
@ joykind4258 lmao it’s not just the southern US that serves lemonade at fast food places.
You need to get some recipes and get to cooking
She is criss crossing the country, from coast to coast.
It is a HUGE country.
When you come ,unless you have a few months to travel around, you should pick a region and explore that .
Then another one another time.
Most of us Americans have only tried a few of these places because of how far away they are from where we live.
Quite true.
I think she's going in alphabetic order from state 5o state. Yes, the US is a huge place with just about any kind of food you can dream of.
Just came here to say this exact thing, lol. I've lived in the US my whole life and never even heard of most of these.
Native Oklahoman here. The reason Braum's is known for ice cream and burgers, is because the restaurant chain is owned by a cattle farm. They also have grocery sections to sell fresh produce that's also grown on the Braum's farms. Almost everything they sell comes from something they've grown.
That's a winner, chicken dinner right there!
Best fast food breakfast burritos
They have the BEST burgers, shakes and fries, and their spicy chicken sandwiches are to die for! We go there every time we visit our daughter! They don't have the cheapest ice cream, but it definitely is competitive with Blue Bell, and they haven't had the food poisoning issue Blue Bell had a couple years ago. They knew about it and didn't recall their ice cream. It would've killed my uncle if he ate any of it! I'm sticking to Braum's all the way.
If I recall correctly, they only have restaurants that distance so their truck drivers can make stops and still be home that night
@@sheilaflory2541 Ohh, that makes sense! I know they have Braum's in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, but the Arkansas one is really close to the OK border.
Pup cups are common at some fast food places, and I swear my daughter’s dog can recognize their signs on the highway. He starts whining when she turns in the drive. He gets lots of pets and a yummy treat, so you know he’s trained for life to want to stop in when he sees their stores. Excellent marketing ploy!
Pup cups are popular and a lot of fast food restaurants give dog biscuits to your furbuddy.
Lol, my dog rolls down the window and places his order (plain burger, no condiments then wants 1/2 my fries).
My boss introduced me to “well done, extra crispy fries” so much better!
😂😂😂😂😂😂smart dog
Just like the children's eye catching food at eye level with the kids riding in the carts.
I had a dog when she was a young pup I would stop at McDonald's and get her a 4 pack chicken nuggets. Until her last day on earth she whined when we passed the golden arches. She would even take the bag herself from the drive through. And that was funny because she was a Rottweiler. After a while they all recognized her and would laugh when she got her weekly treat.
We don't just have state wide competition, food is very competitive here. Everyone, from professional chef to home cook is always looking to up their culinary game.
And yes, the American fast food chains you have in the UK can't even compete with our mediocre diners.
Yeah, small family owned places are very common even in rural areas.
Completely agree!!! Heck the one for Kansas sucks! Freddys??? Please there is soooo many better places. I mean it is okay but nothing great. Plus it probably doesnt help i am not a fan of the concrete either.
@@xenialafleurplus the diners and such are soooo much better.
@@CasperGhost72 I agree I'm in missouri and our Freddie's is basically slightly classier steak and shake
Britain is not noted for its food.
Fun fact, when the original KFC guy sold out due to being unable to run the business anymore came back to have some of said chicken, he said the chain management had ruined it, and proceeded to go on a tear over it, the chicken was tough, the batter was burnt, and so much more, and all those changes were made for the sake of "Speed" that RUINED his original recipe. Not to mention we're apparently still with a recipe/set up that reduces the quality of the food from KFC's original form.
Facts.
KFC used to be good, now here in the states they are the worst option. I don’t know what they did to the original recipe but any time I’ve tried it, it coats my mouth with a weird paste like substance that tastes horrible. I don’t patronize KFC anymore, it is definitely not an option for someone visiting the US! Maybe it’s better in Europe…but here…just no.
@@itsmepd1 another thing about it in Europe and JP and the like, they have stricter food restrictions on what you can use what you can sell, ECT.
In the 80s KFC was actually good
@@itsmepd1 after colonel sanders death the chicken got even worse as while the batter for the chicken was still mass produced with the recipe spread across a number of locations equal to the original number of special herbs and spices

"Grandma, what you ordering?!?!"

The reason we have a lot of sub shops in the us isn’t because of hot weather. Rather, in the 1800s and 1900s a lot of people from Europe immigrated to the us to start a new life. A lot of immigrants brought their culture to the us with them especially food. As such Italian immigrants who settled in and around the New York area as well as the Midwest began opening local delis where people could eat authentic Italian food including subs and pizza
Actually pizza isn't Italian, it was invented in the USA.
I stopped at a Mexican restaurant and asked for coffee once. She asked who drinks coffee after breakfast. My answer; AMERICANS!
👍🏾😂😂
And military and ex military people lol
Mexican here...we drink coffee all day. I wonder if they were being sarcastic. And btw...Mexico is America and so is every country from Canada to Argentina

Can confirm Cookout is the appropriate regional choice. Open 24 hours and the shakes are the best out there. And for the rare blasphemous times you choose not to get a shake with your meal, you get an ice-cold Cheerwine drink :)
I used to travel to North Carolina on business all the time. I always made a point to stop at cookout and have a burger and a shake.
Never heard of it!
Man I’m from Charlotte, NC and
Moved to Oregon in 2012. I miss cookout and cheerwine soooo much.
You have to remember, the U.S. is a big country and many of these local favorites are not available to everyone, unless you want to travel long distances. Granted, some of these businesses have spread to many states and throughout regions, but mostly the options within your region are what you are most likely to frequent.
I've never heard of most of these places and I've lived in the US my whole life.
I have lived in or visited all but 6 states and there were several on this list I didn't know. I live in Alabama and have never driven past a Milo's, looking forward to it now that I know we have them.
Most of these places are as far from me as the UK is from the US. Even so, there are a dozen fast food joints at many interstate off ramps nearby.
I’m Tennessee born and raised. I’m only about an hour from the Alabama border but I’ve never seen or been to a Milo’s. The sweet tea is sold in stores here and I love it.
@@jack-of-all-trades1234Same. In Florida for 52 years and I’ve heard of maybe 3 of these places 😂
I’m from the USA and yeah, alligator is a thing and it tastes exactly like chicken with a slight fishy flavor, and it’s really good fried. If you are ever in the south that’s definitely something you have to try.
Had Gator Bites when I was in FL. I wasn 't too sure about them but got up the nerve to try them. Wow! Now I wish I hadn't as I've wished many times since them I could have them again. But I'm in Nebraska and can't get them here. 😞
@@HuskerGram I’m Nebraska as well lol I haven’t had alligator in a while last time I’ve had was in Louisiana like 7 years ago

@@reeffreak911 I don't remember. But I had them near Universal Studios. Google it (Gator Bites Florida) and you'll find restaurants that have them. I'm sure you'll find one near where you live.
They didn’t mention Buc ee’s starting out in Texas. This is really a gas station with take out food. We had the 3 meat sandwich (brisket, pulled pork, sausage with a very nice BBQ sauce) and it was fantastic. Not sure it is officially considered fast food as there isn’t really an eating area.
We don't have them here!
I'ma be honest buc ee's is so over hyped it's crazy, it's just an oversized gas station
So glad bucees is branching out side of Texas. They are amazing
I was gonna say the same about Buc-ee's.
Whataburger isn't the same since they changed ownership. I rather have In N Out than Whataburger now. Honestly I think Chester's is the best (at least in the San Antonio area)
I love Freddie's chili fries. And In & Out is my go to every summer, when I'm in California.
Milo's sweet tea is huge here in Alabama. Gallon jugs of it are sold in every store around the state. It's the most popular sweet tea brand. Oh yeah and their food is great.
their sweet tea really is good. i'm from arizona, but walmart carries milo's sweet tea. i don't go often but when i do, especially in the summer i love to get a bottle of it.
@@PhxVanguard Oh I had no idea it was nationwide, or at least outside of Alabama. That's cool. On that note, we also have Arizona® tea here. But apparently it's not even from Arizona. 😐
@GenghisClaus correct 😂😂 "arizona" tea is a new york thing. But the green tea is delicious
Tennessee has Milo's tea too!!
SC has Milo's too
I truly can’t wait to see you eat real southern biscuits and gravy 😃
Heaven is: All Southern made Biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings and banana pudding.
As a Seattle local, I WANT SOUTHERN BREAKFAST SO BAD!

Young man. I’m very new to your channel and the few videos I’ve watched have made me literally laugh out loud!!! I’m a 58 year old woman who lives in Southeast Louisiana. Edit: Ok, my state was Dat Dog. Actually I’ve never heard of them but it does look delicious! Btw, alligator is actually pretty good eating!🐊 Im dying here listening to your reactions to some of the food!!! 😂
Oh my goodness... the way I just laughed at the reaction to that dried up waffle house ham. "That looks hideous" 😂😂
He’s not wrong.
Culver’s butter burger is really good
Dang right!
There root beer is so good.
Culver's burgers are ok, but Whataburger burgers taste much better to me. 5 Guys has the best tasting fries in humble opinion
@genew5758 If they are good as you say, I might have to try them sometime.
5 Guys French Fries don't disappoint.
Here in Kentucky, you can get better Chicken/sides at most gas stations than KFC.
Same here in NC...gas station chicken and tater wedges is pretty hard to beat!
Yeah but when I want KFC I want KFC
Sausage gravy. Brown ground sausage. Quarter onion dices throw in sausage when almost brown. Stick of butter. About 1cup flower. Mix until grease is absorbed. Add milk and water a little at a time until you like the creamy texture. Salt and pepper to taste. Put on biscuits bread or mashed potatoes. There you go.
If you accidentally add to much water or milk you just sprinkle in flour until you get desired thickness.
Mom taught me to cook. I can homemade most of the stuff in these videos. So could you.
We don't add as much flour, but yup, that's about the size of it! Made in a cast iron skillet just like Nana used to!
The North Carolina chain called “Cook Out” has franchises in Tennessee where I live. There is one twenty minutes from where I live. They do have awesome food. But, don’t feel bad brother, I haven’t had 99.9% of the food featured in this video. Like you, it makes my mouth water wanting to try it too!
An Eegee is not a smoothie, it's a frozen drink. Basically, it's Italian ice but they just never call it that.
Eegees are the best. My favorite flavor is watermelon and you can only get it in July.
@genew5758 I think it's watermelon pineapple right now (April). Watermelon is also my favorite. I wish they would keep it as a regular flavor.
@@armtdawg99 I can't wait til October, Scary Berry is my favorite!
I love that Indiana made you tap out. I've lived in Indiana my whole life and never had Schoop's. FYI, the closest one is just under 3 hours away from me. As you have said you don't wanna drive more than an hour. Look at the map, Indiana is that "little" state between Ohio and Illinois. BTW, Indiana is roughly the same size as Ireland.😂
There's a Schoop's around the corner from me but I've never been. It is now on my list and I'll be back to report. lol
Hello fellow Hoosier. Indianapolis here!
@@sector986 Waving! Hammond here, enjoying all the snow. :)
Schoops is delightful. I'd say the best one is in Portage.
Smash burgers are my favorite. The lacy edges and cheese are so awesome.
What the video didn't mention about Braum's is that every location also has a mini grocery mart attached to it! You can get a burger, a shake or ice cream, and even do some grocery shopping for your milk, eggs, butter, and other fresh ingredients all in the same place (and the food is very reasonably priced, too).
I LOVE maid rite sandwiches, I miss them a lot and they had a shop in St, Joseph, MO. when I was young. It was steamed hamburger meat chopped up and on a small bun. You can eat them plain and they were the best ever.
2:44 mango ice cream is incredible. Especially with Thai food
I am from Alabama and although I know all about Milo's tea, I had no idea it was a restaurant.
Well to be honest me either, their tea is very famous lol. Foosaklys should been on here from bama! They have the best chicken an cheap
@@putjesusfirst9217 I'm from Alabama, Birmingham to be exact, so I think it's concentrated more there and a few counties surrounding Jefferson...but I could be wrong. I've never heard of Foosaklys though LOL
Nobody goes to Milo's for the food
Live in TN and I drink Milo's tea but always knew it was a restaurant and have definitely had it on my todo list to visit.
@@jonboy87 I do 😆 the fries and chicken tenders are really good. Now you will have hypertension after eating there lol
Okie here and Braum's is actually amazing. I honestly eat burgers here more often than I get ice cream. They also have chicken strips that they serve with white gravy and its soooo good on both the chicken and fries. You can get shakes for drinks with no additional price on meal. And they have the best limeade I've ever had.
We usually got the shakes with all our meals, but if we needed a more liquid drink (because the shakes are so thick) we always go for the cherry limeade. They are made just like Sonic makes them - with sugar syrup, fresh squeezed limes, real cherries and soda. I've seen them use Sprite and I've seen them use carbonated water, like seltzer water. Either way, they are delicious!
Sonic has amazing drinks too, and you can add any flavors to any soda - real strawberries and vanilla in Dr Pepper or their strawberry lemonade with extra strawberries and lemon halves, put any slush flavors in a soda, etc. I used to work there and tried different combinations every day (our drinks were free). It sounds weird but tastes delicious!
I originally from Connecticut, Duchess is one of the only things about CT I miss. Big d burger, hotdogs with the works & their killer onion rings I still crave & miss them.
I'm in Illinois, Chicago area to be exact, and I've NEVER heard of the place they have listed for us! Hands down the best non-major chain fast food place here is Portillios. It's an institution here and the place where we ALWAYS take visitors. Hell, it's so popular that the Vienna Beef company dedicated an entire hot dog factory location to only making dogs for Portillios because they sold so many! Don't even get me started on the chocolate cake shakes!
Fellow Illinois dweller here I legit have never heard of “beef-a-roo” before
Same here, never heard of Virginia's one, and i was born and raised here. The 10 patty monster made my stomach and heart hurt just from the picture, lol.
I live in Rockford and beef a roo is fricking great. Portillos is great but I'll take beef a roo all day over it
I was like wtf is that 😂. Not white castle nor none of the hundreds of pizza places... But that place?? 😂 🤦🏿♂️
Yeah, I’m from Indiana & have traveled all over & have never heard of shtoopies or whatever it was called. 🤷♀️ I’d say as far as fast food, chick-fil-a, Panera or Wendy’s is most popular.. where I am in the state anyway.
Yes italian ice looks like mashed potatoes it actually shaved ice mixed with flavored syrups it is really good especially on a hot day
I don't know about shaved ice..it is m8xed with water at some point and that's what freezes. Shaved ice is a delicacy from Puerto rico that you can buy from a small wagon
That is another thing we are famous for….shaved ice with flavored syrup toppings with ice cream on the bottom. Most get the rainbow colored toppings…wink
Blake's Lotaburger is what I miss most about living in NM. A double Lota with green, cheese and bacon is life changing. Their breakfast burritos are crazy good too.
Rhode Island is absolutely true lol. That location they filmed is a 5 minute drive from my house, as is everything in Rhode Island LOL.
Rhode Island: America's Lichtenstein!
I live in CT, but my mom is from Providence, and we have family there, less-than an hour away.
Del’s is fabulous.
I always stop on my way to my auntie’s house.
People NOT FROM OHIO keep saying skyline chili is the most popular in Ohio, BUT I PROMISE they are not all over the state. ONLY Cincinatti.
I've lived in Ohio for 25 years and I've never seen a Skyline Chili nor has anyone raved about it.
what I’m saying! It’s some DOOKIE WATER! Could’ve picked city barbecue
No one outside of Cincy claims that chili. I’d eat chili from Wendy’s ( which originated in Ohio) before I’d eat that monstrosity from Skyline.
Born and raised in Ohio never had skyline. Always heard from others make sure your not too far from a restroom.

@33:40 - A "Smash-Burger" is a ball of meat placed on a griddle/grille to cook, but after placing will immediately have a flat object like a spatula placed on it, and weight is pressed down on the spatula to "smash" the ball into an ultra-flat, wide burger patty to develop a perfect outer "crust" in it's own oil, and cook through quickly, yet remain VERY juicy. Also, yes, (if they mention it) the fried cheese curds, DO squeak as you chew. Bone conduction from the teeth to the ears, I guess...
Detroiter here - When I started this video I thought to myself, "If our fast food isn't Coneys, I RIOT." Glad to see I wasn't disappointed!! They're every bit as delicious as they look.

Eegees in Arizona is SO good! It's a frozen delight! Their pina colada has real coconut in it, just like strawberry & the lemon flavored ones. They have a flavor of the month, like the peach featured here. In the summer heat, they are so refreshing!
A guy I used to date could easily eat that 10-patty burger. He used to go to Chipotle and order 4 or 5 burritos, depending on how hungry he was. Braum's is WONDERFUL!! I used to go eat at Braum's for lunch every day in high school. Back in the early 80's, you could get a hamburger, fries, and a Coke for $2.10! The store not only sells ice cream, but also groceries. I think Braum's milk tastes better than most of the big brands in the U.S.
Braum's is wonderful ❤️😊
That was my first favorite job as a teen! I ate ice cream daily and loved their burgers and chili! 🤤
Braums are awesome!!! Their milk is the best!
I got 2 Braums in my town and I’ve been going to there since 2010 and the ice cream is top tier
I’m actually eating a jalapeño burger as I watch this! 🤤
In elementary school, we went to the Braum’s Farm in Tuttle. All of their milk & ice cream comes from the cows they raise there. I think that’s so neat. I wish the video highlighted more of its originality.

Hawaii has some really "ono kaukau" (delicious food). Zippy's is like a diner or a coffee shop, where you can get "local" dishes. When you asked, "What is that?", it was "SPAM Musubi". It's a little like a sushi. There's rice on the bottom, a slice of fried SPAM on the top, with a strip of dried nori ( the same dried, black nori - seaweed - used for sushi). A wonderful little snack. The people of Hawaii like to say that SPAM is Hawaiian Steak! Hahaha!
Apparently a Zippy's recently opened up here in Vegas. I think i might try it this weekend
In a nice reversal, I'm in BC (Canada) and poke has really taken off in the past 5 years. There are three separate places I know of within a block of my office. What's really interesting about it, though, is I know of two places that make "poke nachos". Deep-fried wontons topped with marinated tuna, avocado, jalapeños, nori, and spicy mayo (one place does chipotle mayo, the other sriracha mayo).
I have had seaweed, once, never again. I have also had real sushi, (in Japan) eeeh, another nope. Its better in Japan than here.
@@garycamara9955Well Musubi is like a sushi, but it also is its own thing. You use leftover rice(NOT SUSHI RICE! The amount of tiktokers who used sushi rice made me lose braincells), pan fried spam, and nori
Or you can spice things up.
My favorite way is to fry spam in Teriyaki to make an ono Teriyaki spam. Then I add aloha shoyu(soy sauce) and furikake on my rice. Wrap em in nori and super tightly in ceramrap so it holds its shape.
I need to tell my son about the SPAM Musubi. He will probably make some!

I will say though, having lived both in Missouri and Florida, if you go to Missouri, you have to have SPRINGFIELD, MO STYLE CASHEW CHICKEN....I met the creator personally and it's such a hit, that you can ask for it in surrounding states wherever they serve Chinese food. Sauced Hogs, here in the Ocala area, has the best BBQ 😉
Arizona Resident Born and Raised. eegee's drinks are basically a slushy flavored ice and fruit juice, some time you get lucky and get actual fruit chunks in the drink. Also I use the term "drink" loosely, it's poured out from a machine and served with a spoon. Only very VERY rarely do they ever last long enough to melt back into a drink for me. Hope this helps you to understand a bit. Also their grinders are glorious! If you come to Arizona beware the god-awful average temperature of 100-110 in the summer but come to eegee's to beat the heat.
Agreed this summer is gonna be horrible, sometimes it gets even higher than that too
We eat subs all year long, we don't not eat ice cream in the winter and we don't not eat mashed potatoes in the summer. We eat good food all year! Sub sandwiches on 3 or 6 foot size for a super bowl party or birthday parties are not unheard of. Yes 6.feet one loaf of bread

McDonald's, Burger King, KFC,and Subway are all American based fast food chains. I know at least McDonald's, if not all of them, change their menus to appeal to the locals. In India, they took beef off their menu since cows are considered sacred there

There is a restaurant in Illinois (and I think it also has other places now) called Lambert's Cafe. When you sit down, even before you pick up a menu they bring a bowl of beans and a plate of fried potatoes to your table. And they have huge freshly made rolls which they will throw to you from across the room whenever you raise your hand. When you order the portions are huge. The burgers are as big as your plate and a salad is like in a huge bowl.
There are Lambert's restaurants in Missouri also, one in particular located in Sikeston, which the chain calls the restaurants " the home of the throwed rolls"
Still have it, also in Missouri..its known as "Home of the Throwed Roll" as they literally throw the dinner rolls across the room to any raised hand. They have the very best fried chicken.
There's a Lamberts in Illinois? I thought they were only in Missouri and at the beach in Gulf Shores Alabama
The website says there are only 3. Two in Missouri and one in Foley Alabama? Is there one in Illinois they haven't listed or are you mistaken?

Biscuits and sausage gravy is a standard weekend breakfast in our house - I make it about once a month.

You missed a local establishment in the California wine country…Mary’s Pizza Shack that started in Sonoma, CA, and has about a dozen locations. Great pizza and very family friendly (go to place for after kids sporting events).
About the only ones we have around here (Northern Minnesota) are Culver's and Taco Johns. Culvers has really good burgers (better by far than the other fast food chains) and they have real, and whole cut onion rings. Taco Johns - I swear my go-to for a quick lunch is their simple bean burrito. Taco Johns Mexican food is better than about any sit-down Mexican restaurant I've ever been in. The bean burrito - perfectly made, perfect amount of fresh onion in the refried beans, and a very good flour tortilla. They do amazing things with their Potato Ole's too, including a smothered version that will bust your diet, but soooo good. Their taco salad is awesome, and their house salad dressing is a wonder. Sort of a chipotle ranch thing - awesome.

Caught a lot of lobsters with a T-shirt wrapped around my hand. Lobsters are prickly for sure. If you poked a stick into a hole under the water, either an eel or a lobster comes out. If lobster, grab it with that T-shirt. If an eel, RUN. Yes, alligator tail on the grill with lemon and garlic butter. Mmmmmm.
We had a restaurant here in Portland, Oregon called Montage that served alligator jambalaya. Omg amazing.
A grilled cheese sandwich also is usually served with a pickle slice on top of it. It's basically a garnish just for looks but some people will eat it before or after eating the sandwich
COULD I eat that ten-storey burger from Elevation in one sitting? No. WOULD I try? EFF, YES!
Love your videos. I'm from the U.S. (and still here, lol) and I've never heard of most of these places but I'd love to do a road trip to visit them. Just chart a course to EAT, ha. I learn more about my own country from watching your reaction videos than from just living in my own corner of it. Well done, and keep up the good work! Especially the part where I watch and wind up hungry for food that is literally thousands of miles away from East Coast home 😢 😆
You weren't born in the U.S. and don't live here (yet) but I think you'd fit right in, in the best of ways. Also, I love your particular UK accent--you'd go far across the Pond just on "cool accent, cool person," but you also seem really talented at creating fun/educational content, personable and funny, and enthusiastic about new things. ESPECIALLY food, lol. You'd fit right in AND stand out!
I've lived in the Detroit area for a long time, and you're right that National Coney Island isn't fast food, but casual dining with table service. There are a few other Coney Island chains in the area, like Leo's and Mark's, and also many independent ones, all with similar menus. I spent some time living in New Jersey, and since their specialty is Philadelphia-style cheesesteak sandwiches, you can't call it a "sub", but absolutely must use the regionalism "hoagie". That chain has gone national. Culver's is an excellent chain that has spread beyond its Wisconsin roots. I didn't know that Taco John's was Wyoming-based. We had some in Minnesota. I've heard of Elevation Burger, but was surprised that Virginia's choice wasn't Five Guys.
I’m pretty sure “National Coney Island” is a play on “Nathan’s Coney Island” which was established by a Polish immigrant in Coney Island (Brooklyn, NY) in 1916. I’ve never heard of the Jamaican beef patties supposedly representing New York. I’m surprised they didn’t mention Nathans, *frankly.*
_”Frankly / Nathan’s” See what I did there?_ 😂
@@The_Crucible714 Yes, it's kind of weird that Greek immigrants in the Detroit area called their restaurants "Coney Island", but National=Nathan's is very far-fetched. As I already said, some competitor chains are called Leo's and Mark's, and also Uptown, while some independents are called Mike's and Alpha.
the Coney dog was not invented in Detroit. It was invented in Jackson Michigan!
I grew up in Toledo and Rudy's Hot Dog reigns supreme there. I lived in Cincinnati and tried all their different variations and hated them all. Detroit (Michigan) style coney sauce is the best.
Here in PA they put Texas style chili on hot dogs. It is awful.
33:57 No they described it earlier. It’s a ball of ground beef you smash with a flat thick iron. It makes the patties thin, with crispy edges and a perfect sear. Real popular right now. Griddle style cooking. Great video man! I enjoyed it
That's why my son doesn't like Steak and Shake. They make those flattened burgers and doesn't like them. They get really dry that way, and he's right about that.
Best burger i ever had was at a little place outside of Kansas City, cant remember its name but, it was an avacado, bacon burger with jalapeño ranch dressing. It was superb
You cracked me up about that lion burger roast beef sandwich 🤣
Hey! They did Beef A Roo from my home town! They started with themed fast food places. First with a 50's theme (sock hop, juke box, etc.) then went to fire Station, cabin, and I can't think of the others, but there's about 7 in town. It's one of few places that have ice cream options too. They don't hire a- holes. They take their business serious, and now they're expanding to a few more cities, including Wisconsin. Soon they'll be known nationally! 😃❤
I loved Beef A Roo in the '70s here in Southern Wisconsin!
Smash burgers are when they take the patty and using a hot flat griddle, use the spatula to smash the burger so that it cooks faster, as well as crisping up the edges.
I wish restaurants would follow that description. I keep finding that restaurants in PA call any burger a smashburger. I went to a new place the other day and the damn thing was an inch thick. I asked the bartender and they said its a "burger you want to smash"
@@seanhertzsch This not being American Pie, I don't think that is a good description for any burger.
Yes, Tudors Biscuit World in West Virginia is awesome. The gravy and biscuits there are closest to like momma made
As an Okie, we love Braum's!!, ppl come from out of state and the country to come to Braum's and as well as the plant/farm that everything comes from.
They didn't mention Braum's is part grocery store, ice cream shop and fast food as well! They have about 300+ flavors.
I live in Texas. Whataburger is always on the list, but i havent eaten there in years. Also, the chain was sold to a firm out of Chicago, so it may affect loyalty a bit.
Thanks to our neighboring Louisiana influence, Austin-born Schlotzkys should be on the list IMHO, or Tex-Mex favorite, Taco Cabana which even serves margaritas to go!
I love Schlotzky's. But there's only one left in Omahs and it's quite a ways from me. 😞
Ooooh. Schlotzky's! I forgot about Schlotzky's. I'm going right now.
I live in Missouri and the first time we bought Milos sweet tea, from a convenience store, we were hooked. Thakts all we buy now
If you are ever in the piedmont area of North Carolina, you have to try Biscuitville. That's personally my favorite fast food breakfast.
Well, now it's 1 a.m. and I'm starving. Thanks, dude. I'm saving this video for when we're traveling around the country. It's weird, we've had In n Out Burger in California and it was great; one opened here near Houston and just wasn't that great. Love your videos. I have lived in 4 other countries before my husband retired and we are very lucky to have so much choice, most Americans have no clue. Thanks.
I am from Tennessee, Pals is very local . Actually it was founded in the city very close to us. They are very fast even for most drive- thrus The menu is small but it is all very good. The best thing in my opinion for their breakfast is their cheddar rounds. The original 2 have walk in service but the rest is all drive thru.
I only get burgers and fries at Pal's. Better than McDs, hands down.
Tbh I never heard of Pals out of my 4 years living in TN. Now I really wanna try it 😅
Born and raised in Michigan. Our high school hangout was National Coney Island. Before the pandemic most of the locations were open 24 hours. I would always get a Hani & chill cheese fries.
Its fun to watch your excitement about our conntry. If you come over you really need to video your trip and share it with us. I have been watching your reactions for a little while and find you very entertaining and you shamed me into subscribing 😅 carry on, please 😊 hello from Oregon USA 🇺🇸
You seemed surprised by the 'smashed down' burger. These are called smash burgers and is a type of burger that has a thin patty that is smashed down on the grill, creating very thin lacey crispy edges. I usually get a double cause they are thin. If I remember correctly they started in the midwest and has gained popularity a lot more recently.
I can't help but giggle when you say "you lot." Gonna give you a tip about Florida (no pun intended), find a hole-in-the-wall, mom & pop Cuban restaurant. Get a fresh-made Cuban sandwich (pork, ham, mustard, Swiss cheese, pickles) smashed flat (heated). You won't be disappointed. That Waffle House Museum is walking distance from my house. Though the FIRST is a museum, there is an actual Waffle House just down the street (very handy if you have sewer issues in the middle of the night and need a bathroom, NOW). That was a slice of ham at 7:51. I tend to stick with their waffles, cheese scrambled eggs, and if I'm feeling frisky, a grilled cheese with bacon.
Same thing goes for hole in the wall or back of beyond chicken shacks in Georgia.
My all time favorite hole in the wall restaurant was in Huntington Park CA. A car crashed in the market on Rugby and Florence. The whole it made revealed a room that had a finally been walled off in a remodel. A man leased the space. He installed a Dutch door in the whole and opened a walk up Mexican restaurant. You Best Torres I ever had!
YESYESYES.
Easy way to make biscuits and gravy, get your biscuits from KFC, cook 1 pound of breakfast sausage add pepper, once it's cooked sprinkle 1/2 cup of flour to sausage cook til flour turns golden brown, slowly add milk until its thick( if it's to thick add more milk but you don't want it runny. Cover your biscuits with your gravy and enjoy.
I live in Louisiana, down in the South (just outside of Loreauville), and I have NEVER heard of Dat Dog, but now I definitely wanna try it
Man, watch “Beard Meats Food”. He’s a Brit and there are plenty of good looking places to eat in the UK!
Tudors is deff a favorite here, most of us are up super early for work and its nice to be able to get a hot meal before work at 5am. Biscuits and gravy are phenomenal, id also recommend a pepperoni roll if you ever stop by WV
Try a grilled burger, with cheese on it and before serving add some sweet slaw to the top. Carolina burger. (drain some of the juice from slaw prior to putting on burger)
I love pals , excellent food . Not a large menu but they are always fast and the tea is always on point . The patty melt is excellent when they have it out
When I moved to Ohio from the East Coast, I agreed with you about Skyline. GROSS! It took me 10 years to muster the courage to try the 3-Way (the spaghetti dish), but it's actually not bad. I don't go there often, but if you get a chance, try it. However, it's definitely not for everyone.
I’m very impressed you gave it a try.
Native Ohioan from Cincy area here.
Love our Cincy Chili , I’ve met very few people from other regions that have had the courage to try it. lol
I ate my first Whataburger in Amarillo Texas about a year ago and it was just a regular cheese burger --- and I thought wow I could have been eating these all this time and just didn't realize how good they were, every thing in them just is so fresh and tastes so homemade
Whataburger Jr with jalapeños was my fave 😊
They're really dense and heavy burgers its great lol
The breakfast burrito rocks too
I'm sorry to say this, I tried wataburger, and I have not been impressed. Md's is worse. Braum's has a better burger and it isn't anything to write home about.
Whataburger had been going downhill for a few years, it started before that Northern company bought them, but it's going down faster since then
I had a friend in the Uk try biscuits and sausage gravy, it is really easy to make. He loved it and so did his family but he said he could feel his arteries clogging with every bite lol. It is basically bread with bread sauce, and some spice and sausage.
Delaware should have been Capriottis, it’s a sandwich shop and they are famous for their Bobbie sandwich. It’s literally thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich. It has turkey, mayo, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. It’s amazing!
I've got a 4 Rivers right near me in Orlando. Yes, it is completely worth this reaction.
Never eaten at Milo's, but their sweet tea is awesome.
Their extra sweet in the purple bottle is my favorite
Smashed burger are pressed down, until thin, often done with a weight of some kind, or with a spatula, or sometimes both. The Colvers clip shows a weight with spatula they use.
I live in Wisconsin ye we have Culver’s. It’s called a smash burger because it’s really thin cooked crispy on the outside with the best flavor. They do put a flat heavy metal plate over it to brown fast and flip it over for fast good taste. So good!
All this amazing food is why we have weight issues. It's all just too tempting!
Spam musubi is surprisingly good. It's definitely something I wouldn't have tried if my friend hadn't introduced me to the wonders of Hawaiian cuisine.
As a Minnesotan, I have not heard of My Burger, so it's probably in the Twin Cities somewhere; I live in BFNW, so it's no surprise. The most popular fast food in my area, I think, would be Oof-da Tacos, which is only available from spring to autumn.
I'm Minnesotan too and also never heard of My Burger. It looked good tho.
I am from North Carolina and Cookout is really good. The burgers tastes just like they were grilled which is my favorite part. Been living in Florida the past 10 years and absolutely recommend 4 rivers smokehouse 100%. It’s about the best BBQ u can get here.
We have them in South Carolina too and they are good
They are good but best in the state? I only go when its super late or I'm super broke
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Cook Out, but Bojangle's is hands-down the best. Biscuits baked fresh every 20 minutes, awesome fried chicken, a good selection of sides, and all-day breakfast!
🙋🏻♀️From Tucson here!! You need definitely need to try eegee's! 🤤 also delicious with alcohol 😋and the ranch fries are amazing!
When you said the UK didn't have meat sandwiches with sliced meat, I had to look up Arby's locations. One used to be in London decades ago but was closed. Arby's slices their roast beef for the sandwiches.
Cincinnati chili is a unique flavor, but if you love it, YOU LOVE IT! There are over 300 Cincinnati chili restaurants in a metro area of about 2.5 million people, and they are all busy. The combination of spaghetti, Greek-originated chili, and cheese can be complimented with onions, beans, and Blue Ash Chili will let you add fried jalapenos for a 6-way. Yummy, yummy for those of us who love it. Nope, I'm not a native Cincinnatian, but I've been here for a long time. BTW, Cincinnati chili is available in nearby metro areas like Columbus, Dayton, and Lexington.
Cincinnati chili is disgusting, but the Bengals are cool
@@Augrills Stay ignorant
@@ant111_ ignorance would be if I never tried it. I have tried it and it’s disgusting lol
@@Augrills I love the Cincinnati area. I have lived all over the country and Covington KY was, hand's down my favorite place, especially due to its proximity to Cincinnati.
However, Cincinnati style chili is disgusting. I will take Michigan style coney sauce any day of the week.
It is better than PA style chili dogs (they use Texas chili with beans)
I live in Oregon and Burgerville was everywhere. The food was larger and tastier back in the 90's. Its still good and their shakes are delicious. I do love that they use locally sourced ingredients. My favorite isnt on the list. Its Carls jr. Also known as Hardees in some other states
My favorite thing at Burgerville is the Halibut fish & chips. But I have to save up for it. 😂
@@crystalwilcox77 not just for the fish either everything is expensive
Expensive yes, but good quality for drive-thru food. Any place that uses Tillamook cheese has my heart. Shakes are amazing too, and I always look forward to autumn when their sweet potato fries are in season.
If you can get Bisquick mix it has recipes for pancakes and waffles or biscuits on the box
The coney island dogs in Detroit are amazing. It seems simple but the special chili, mustard and crunchy onions are the best.
Milo's tea and lemonade are available at every Walmart nation wide
