    Gosh what a STUNNING tree! I wish I had room for such a specimen, even if I wouldn't live long enough to see it grow into such a specimen!

    Wonderful. Do hope there might be a little more of Cruden Farm later …as most will not achieve the years to see one flourish. 😁

    Interesting, I didn't know that hybrids between section Cerris and section Lobatae were possible, but apparently they are. Recent research has shown that the Turner's oak of UK commerce is an intersectional hybrid.
    Beautiful tree whatever it is. I wish we could get scions to the US!

    Why are the leaves not good for compost?

      The gardener thinks they take too long to rot down. I have to say that wouldn't stop me using them. Regards Stephen
