    In this video Professor Kennedy elaborates on the drugs that he is using in his lab and in his trials, including alpha-ketoglutarate and spermidine. He also gives his views on NAD boosters and rapamycin.
    Dr. Brain Kennedy is a Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry and Physiology at National University of Singapore and Director of the Centre for Healthy Ageing at the National University Health System. From 2010 to 2016, he was the President and CEO of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. He remains a Professor at the Institute. Dr. Kennedy is internationally recognised for his research into the biology of aging and for his work to translate research discoveries into new ways of delaying, detecting, and preventing human aging and its associated diseases. At National University of Singapore , Dr. Kennedy’s broader goals are to develop new interventions to target human aging and to validate their efficacy in humans. And ultimately, to create strategies to promote their widespread use.

    The deal with Ponce De Leon delivery of AKG is
    an extended release and
    has an enteric coating which
    keeps the AKG from being destroyed by stomach acid so it reaches the intestines and bloodstream = most bioavialable delivery

    According to CEO Tom Weldon, you need to take Rejuvant (CaAKG) in the morning on an empty stomach. What makes this horrible is that you can not take other supplements with it at the same time and worse yet Tom said you cant take other supplements until the evening !!!
    HELLO. This is VERY, VERY, BAD news for implementing CaAKG ! For me, it destroys my supplement schedule.

    I'm over 70. NMN and Tonkat Ali (men only) has been a panacea... I've been looking into AKG. Will look into Spermadine. I am reasonably fit, can work physically hard for hours, and couldn't before the two supplements above.
    Keep us posted on Rapamiacin.

    The commercially available spermidine supplements contain only 1 mg in one day's recommended dose. In a future video, could you address whether that amount is enough to have a significant effect?

      There is about 20mg of spermidine in 100g of wheatgerm. Why these supplements cost so much for so little is an absurd ripoff.

    Thanks. Would be interesting to do an analysis of various supplements (metformin, ResV, NR, AKG) and other interventions (e.g fasting, exercise) to see what degree of overlap there is and which one of these has the most beneficial downstream effects. For example, daily time restricted eating and exercise each increase NAD+/NADH ratio, so do we gain by taking NR or NMN? Seems we really need a lot more studies.

    • @ModernHealthspan
      @ModernHealthspan  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Peter, thanks for your comment. I agree it would be great to see this kind of data. I do think that this is part of Dr. Kennedy's idea to have multiple smaller trials to look at the various interventions.

      Yes - I think the consensus of scientists evaluating “the biology “
      is that “these things (NMN , Metformin , Resveratrol , Spermadine ) activate gene pathways “they all somewhat talk with each other and it may be synergistic “ (that’s Sinclair’s quote ) meanwhile AKG & leucine
      seem to “amplify the biology “ of NMN & Resveratrol but nobody knows if it’s clinically significant (yet)
      Sinclair on exercise says “you just want to get a little out of breath”
      which triggers a “depravation response “ on a cellular level
      Though 30 minutes a day being
      active , yoga resistance weights
      is in my opinion going to make the
      difference if you are “trial /old “
      at 80 and cannot open a jar by yourself or if you are vigorous and
      relatively pain free

    Anyone compare spermidin with fisetin? Stacking the 2? Some have said that pulsing these synolytics gains most of the benefits and saves lots of $$, one week per month etc? Or blast with synolytics one month a year... Studies, feed back?

    • @aliengod2039
      @aliengod2039 2 роки тому +3

      I take Fisetin at 20mg per kg weight. This means 10 pills a day for first 3 days of every month. 5 in the morning and 5 in the later part of the day. And then, take NR which helps me re-fuel NAD to non-senescent cells so energy is fully utilized. Fisetin combined with top quality NR such as Tru Niagen seems to make me feel excellent. I was not expecting few superior changes. I used to have a blocked nose, difficulty in focus, low energy, fatigue, etc. All got resolved by taking just these 2 supplements besides many others. Only NR + Fisetin have lifted my spirits. I take Super B-Complex, Astaxanthin, Omega 3, Vit. D3+K2, Zn+Cu. Will add AKG as well in the future.

      Hi Paris, thank you for your question. So far the scientific papers said up to 2.5g is well tolerated however there seems to be anecdotal individual cases where women may have side effects over 1g. It seems to be due to over methylation so it should clear up if you stop taking the supplements. Maybe you can lower your dosage or stop taking.

  • @ortcloud99

    Strange, he didnt mention AKG rewinding the methylation clock? and instead talks fraility. Very odd. The company claims it can reverse aging clock.

    Super interesting discussion! I’m wondering if all forms of AKG work the same way? I only have access to arginine AKG instead of the calcium AKG used in the clinical studies, I wonder if arginine AKG is as beneficial?

    • @jefflittle8913
      @jefflittle8913 2 роки тому +3

      I think this is simply an issue of "has been studied" vs "has not been studied". It is quite possible that the two forms have markedly different bioavailability. Certainly Ponce De Leon said that they chose the calcium version because it was studied better.

    this wasn't easy because both speakers practice minimal mouth movement (mmm) while speaking, prevents lip reading which is important on youtube, almost the proverbial mush-mouth, but I appreciate hearing confirmation about the acid stomach that can happen from aakg. I stopped taking it first thing.

    • @PFLEONARDI0906
      @PFLEONARDI0906 2 роки тому +1

      AKG needs a binding agent to be absorbed. So yes. There is also calcium as as a binder.

    • @DS-eu2ww
      @DS-eu2ww 2 роки тому +3

      Your question is confusing.
      Arginine AKG has AKG in it.
      There are two types of AKG available
      Arginine AKG and Calcium AKG. The calcium is a better deilvery system, and there is more AKG in the pills with Calcium.
      As far as CaAKG, its pretty useless for people that have supplement stacks, because you take CaAKG in the morning and you CAN NOT take any other supplements until the end of the day - evening. Tom Weldon the CEO stated this. Its unusable for me.

    • @aliengod2039
      @aliengod2039 2 роки тому

      @@DS-eu2ww I heard that it takes just 5 mins for CaAKG to be out of the system. So, many tried exercising right after CaAKG in the early morning and then after a gap of few hours, took NR, NMN, etc. All displayed good health improvements and hair color changes too! Many say they noticed changes in as little as 3 months. I am planning to introduce CaAKG into my daily intake as well. But, will ensure a big 4 to 6 hour gap to take other supplements. Wanna experiment for 3 to 6 months and see if I notice any changes. I have dozens of white hairs that emerged 2 years ago. Change in those would be a good indicator that CaAKG really works, like for many reviewers who claimed it worked very well for them.
