I'm so glad Terri's surgery went great! I still wish you a speedy recovery and I'll be thinking of you. Having that Machine is a huge help, I had a Hip Surgery last year in September so I remember the pain but I had a machine like that and it made recovery a whole lot better! I hope Austin is feeling better and the MRI goes good for him. Take care McNeel Fam! ❤

This your home vacation TIME for the next three to four weeks. Terri get out that HORN the BELL so you can Let your nurses know when you need something or Help. Carmen is quite the little nurse! What Teri needs right now is sleep, lots of sleep. I do hope the pain is not too severe. Good luck in recovery!
Loved Claire’s unique braids(.) she was styling when she got in the car after school. Wish she had modeled it so we could have gotten a better look. Carmen was a little doll in her braids, too! Hope Teri gets relief soon from the pain. Praying for a speedy recovery. Clay, you are an awesome husband and caregiver. Carmen is a great little helper!

Teri, I know how you feel about being nervous.I Myself with nervous about my first surgery which was for a broken ankle with a torn ligament and thank goodness my mom was with me. I was in the hospital for a week and then Therapy of the nursing home and then Outpatient Therapy and then I’m finally home. I’m glad you’re OK.

I’ve had three meniscus tear surgeries-two on my right knee and one on my left. I feel your pain. My surgeon told me I should never kneel again because when you are on your knees you tend to twist on it and that’s what causes the tears. Good luck with the recovery and don’t kneel anymore!!!

Yes, knee surgery is painful after. But your ice machine is the best pain reliever! I loved mine! Hope you heal up fast and have no more trouble with the knees! Hope Austin’s knee heals up fast too.

When I had one of those cold water pumps, the nurse told me to freeze 4 bottles of water remove the labels, fill to the water line and have 4 more bottles in the freezer ready for an exchange out! Teri I'm sending prayers for a speedy recovery. I know how much pain is associated with that surgery!
I had the same surgery 6 times. Movement helps a lot. Don't be afraid to use your leg. You will feel better quicker.

I had two knee surgeries in 2020 in march and may. I had 3 incisions in each knee and almost 2 years later….. I went from being in pain 24/7 to no pain at all. I have only had 2 or 3 flare ups since my full recovery. I have been living with this knee pain since I was 3 but was always convinced it was growing pains, until it got worse after I was done growing. So I am sooo glad I did the surgery. Wish I had done it sooner. Hopefully recovery goes well. I didn’t have crutches either I was able to walk on it the day of surgery if I wanted.

I had knee surgery in September, the first two weeks were rough. Trying to sleep on my back was hard. But was well worth it. 🙏❤️🙏
Sending healing prayers 🙏 ❤ you can start feeling better really soon 🙏 I haven't had my knees done but have had many surgeries i broke my hip and spent 3 months in the hospital my Rheumatologist didn't think it was broken the xray didn't show a break. So I went 3 weeks unable to put any weight on it was in a rolling walker the whole time. I had to take care of my 3 granddaughters because their Mommy had another baby the day my hip broke. I didn't do anything to break it. My bones are weak from osteoarthritis and osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis so I took a step couldn't take another. During those 3 weeks my legs swelled up 2x bigger than they should be and I got huge blisters on my feet and small ones around the back of my feet. I told my doctor each week when I saw him something was wrong he thought it was just my rheumatoid arthritis causing it. He finally ordered a MRI they called me this next day told me to go to the hospital it was broken my doctor at the hospital said who did this to you? I said what my Rheumatologist said it was my rheumatoid arthritis causing it. Then he finally did a MRI and told me it was broken. He said you have blood poisoning because of not getting your break repaired you are a very sick lady. We are going to give you a couple different antibiotics for 7-10 days then operate once your infection is gone. After I recovered from the surgery they sent me to another floor to start therapy I hadn't walked in so long I had to completely learn how to walk again. I still couldn't walk without using a walker when I left the hospital I started therapy at home 3x a week about 3 weeks after I got home I took my first steps using a cane and 2 weeks after that I finally could walk alone. I was so thrilled not having therapy anymore. Was a hard battle for me since I have a very bad back it hurt so badly having to not move in bed for 10 days they put pillows on each side of me to turn me a little without moving my hip. While I was getting my antibiotics. After I got to the physical therapy department they still wouldn't let me walk for about 10 days they wheeled me down to the workout area and sat me in a raised mat for therapy. I was in so much pain they couldn't do much. Over time I was able to do a little more each time I went down. So glad you won't have all that going on. You won't have to use crutches that's really wonderful no pain under your arms from using them I broke my ankle years ago and they bruised my underarms so badly I even put towels around the top part and still had trouble. Well rest let yourself heal and soon you will be good as new no more pain in your knee. 😁❤

Ugh that’s lot of care giving and recovery family strophe. Bummer. Your neighborhood filled with lots of great people. It will pass eventually by end of spring. Everyone will be in tip top shape for boating season.

When I was using a machine like that when I had a broken arm, a sweet neighbor froze some bottles of water and used those instead of so much ice. Three bottles fit in just great. I had 6 bottles so I could rotate them. Still had to put water in the bucket.

Word to the wise..when starting therapy...PLEASE take your pain med BEFORE starting to get maximum benefit of the therapy....when you hurt you won't get addidicted..its taking it after you've healed that is the problem...while hurting the med is going to the pain receptors......
PS have had several knee surgeries and many hours of therapy....suggested info came from my physical therapy team...

Hey Teri just wanna let you know that I had a really major break in my knee and my knee caps for the bus it up to and I have a torn tendon in my back of my knee so I don’t know I just want to let you know

Speedy recovery... a little too go that ice pad for pain you can freeze some small water bottles and put them in there instead of ice it will last longer than ice.... my husband just went though hip surgery and had that great ice pack machine... hope recovery is going good

I will pray for your recovery is fast. I've had surgeries on my feet and legs before. Not fun. I don't like pain killers myself either. They make me sick and I can't take ibuprofen either. Very tough.
