    it's really inspiring to see someone succeed even though he started dancing at 23! I feel like you're always told that if you didn't start dancing at a really young age you will never get to do that professionally but here he is proving that statement wrong

    • @davidecarella4433
      @davidecarella4433 4 роки тому +46

      This statement is always wrong, a lot of professional dancer and choreographer started at 20. This prove that if you have passion and dedication you will be big, no matter your age

    I myself have never taken classes so it always makes me feel so behind everyone, but then through my natural talent, I always end up passing auditions, maybe not my recent one, but I passed the past three I have ever done in my life. I feel like I still suck compared to everyone, making me feel self-conscious, but you saying it's ok to suck, really inspires me to go off even if I suck. I've been working out almost daily for 30 minutes because I'm scared of falling behind instead of catching up. I'm self-taught so it's scarier. I want to take classes, but I'm scared to being bad, but that's how everyone started huh. I also just don't have time. So it's a struggle. I sacrifice time for dancing through dance clubs I have in my high school, practicing at home, and going to workshops. Also being in a dance team at my school. But I still don't think it's enough. Seeing people like Bailey Sok for being so good at 15, makes me inspired yet behind and conscious. Fear is what I feel. I want to overcome it, but I don't know how.

    • @39Bosski
      @39Bosski 4 роки тому +27

      r.picassio, your story is appreciated. I wonder though. You say you're afraid to take a class, but you aren't afraid to go and audition? Think about that for a moment. You, a self taught dancer, passed an audition. That says something. That same force that made you walk into those auditions where you didn't know if you'd get chosen or not, you need to use that and make the time to take a class and improve yourself so you don't feel like you're missing something you were meant to do. You obviously want this. Fear is real, believe me, I know, but sometimes you have to just step beyond it. You can do it!

      Im 18 and seeing Bailey Sok being better than anyone out there is both inspiring and frustrating (but most of the time impressive). So if you’ve got the time then spend every time to practice. I don’t even have the opportunity for dance classes (in shy lol plus im lazy). So really, it’s never too late to improve. I just watch videos of choreography and try to follow and break down each and every move. Is it effective? Kinda. So yeh, fear is natural but overcoming it will be a great reward i bet.
      If you’re really afraid being bad, then just get used to it. We have a large mirror where i practice, and sometimes whenever I dance i wonder if im the worse until I feel the music. Besides, you’ve done something I and many other peeps are too shy and introverted to do, and that is passing auditions. Think about that.

    Life wasn't easy for me from a young age , i have ptsd , depression, reallyyyy big anxiety, i always dreamed of dancing, when little i always begged to do ballet but we didn't have the money n my mom was too busy fighting with my dad , i always would dance alone n watch my shadow as i try to mimic what i saw on tv ,when i finally realized that years have passed, i cried myself to sleep for a longggg time , n i still do , all i have is regrets, all i see is people living their dream n being better than me , i just love dance , i love art , i even love violin , piano , singing, drawing....but u need to star at a young age n i never had the opportunity to do so, life was like "nope" . i always wanted to dance , i just have it in my heart, but i feel like its too late to catch up to these perfect dancers n it hurts soooo bad, i hope 1 day I'll become a dancer

    I need to know something ... what other dance studios, outside of Millennium, have work/study or certificate programs comparable to Millennium? And that can be in the States, across the border, or the pond.
    My mind is blown 🤯
    Mykell took 22 classes per week?! What dreams may come 🤤
    In 1-2 years he went from beginner to this mega advanced level where he's REPEATEDLY dancing on high profile stages? Fire.
    Nurturing your potential & walking in what you feel is your purpose? Yes, yes, scream it from the rooftops - YES!
    If anyone knows the answer to the question above, I would be ever so thankful. But this ... I needed to see/hear this. Even if it's from 4-years ago. Thank you for doing this interview Steezy! 🙏🏾

    EVERYONE needs to see this video! What an inspiration this man is! The way he came back from serious illness, doing the moves in his head, focusing on where he wanted to be, not where he happened to be -- this is the stuff magic and miracles are made of. This is how you create what you truly want in life. Thank you, sir.

    Thank you for telling your story. I started taking dance classes 3 years ago at 25. (I danced in college with friends but it was all self taught) I made the team run by the same people as my class. I used to look at these younger dancers and think wow they started so young and are amazing how am I ever gonna catch up. I'd compare myself and didn't think I'd ever be good enough. Slowly I gained more confidence and decided that I was gonna be the best dancer I could be and that I had a unique style that I could bring to the table. You saying you took 22 classes in a week make these 6 choreos I've been stressing about and have to learn in 2 weeks for casting seem like nothing. I'm gonna do amazing things as a dancer too!

    " you have to give yourself hope in the midst of the struggle" (or something like that):
    Exactly!! I was trying to give my self that little bit of hope by taking dance classes after my husband died, and the teacher ridiculed me. It's taken me years to get over that compounded struggle, but this is so RIGHT. You MUST find creative ways to survive during serious life challenges. And, stay away from people who would add to your pain & struggle. Peace!

    Ok I know no-one cares but I guess I'll share my experience.
    I've danced all my live. Ever since I was 5 years old I went to my school's dancing classes but it was obviously not that much of a help since I only learned to mimic moves and follow the choreographies. When I entered high school (probably 11? Idk) I realized that dancing was what I loved so I started having classes in an academy. It was actually amazing even tho they also didn't taught me the foundation/the basics. Everybody that I knew said that I was really good and a girl from my group asked me to try to go to the competition team auditions but I refused because I never felt confortable with my dancing. While dancing I forget about everything, but just when I finish, the thought of sucking and people making fun of me hit me so hard and I literally fell like crying. That's mostly the reason I quit dancing (apart from not being friends whit anyone in my academy since I'm super shy and insecure).
    2 years later I've realized that I can't live without dancing and I want to start again, but the same thought from the past stops me from doing something. Also, I don't know were to start with and, yet again, I'm afraid of sucking. What should I do? Do you guys have any idea of were I could start with? Honestly I don't know if it is already too late for me. (I'm 15 by the way).
    Side note: I'm sorry for my grammar or any mistakes. English is not my first language. Thanks for reading my story that no one cares about :)

    Wow this is really inspirational and comforting because I've always liked dancing and recently wanted to make it my career but have been so scared by people putting me down saying it's to late you have to start young but you started at 23 and im only 19 this really gives me hope. Thanks for the confidence man 🤙
