Your video came up on my UA-cam feed and I watched it. Impressive! I enjoyed how you first painted the background and then progressed to painting the lemons and leaves. Thanks! Cesar
This is beautiful as always, thank you so much for this tutorial.
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing just totally amazing Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely. I always had trouble blending acrylics. I could not afford oils. So I just painted landscapes. This is amazing.
thanks very much Joyce! It can be tricky to blend acrylics because you have to work fast!
@@ThePaintingStoof Yes. They dry so fast, and I was trying to paint like the guy who had the program and put happy little trees everywhere. Kind of impressionism but the mountains he did were spectacular. I did three that I am very proud of. One of a mule deer in front of a stand of trees, a mountain landscape and a skyscape. I sold all those. I did not frame them but they were on a canvas that was a quarter inch thick so they stood by themselves. This was back in the 80's. People bought art to match their sofas. I love your tutorials. Many blessings. God keep you safe and well. JJ:)
Wow. Amazing video as always 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much 😀
Wonderful tutorial- beautiful piece
Glad you like it!
Great tutorial They look good enough to eat Made my mouth pucker just looking at them TFS!! 👍👍🍋🍋
@ThePaintingStoof I love this painting! I've only been painting over a year now, and I look for tutorials/paintings that inspire me.
I'm trying to do your tutorial on this painting but I'm having difficulty replicating the various shades of yellow in the lemons since they were combined with other existing mixed colors already on your palette, my colors don't seem bright enough. I'm at 43:21 and I keep going back to understand but I'm still having trouble. Would you mind explaining your color mixes for the lighter colors?
Thanks 😊
hi Chloe - thanks for your comment! Right after 43:21 i mixed cad yellow light and a hint of cad yellow deep with the deeper shadow color to get a softer transition from the shade part of that lemon to the highlight. I would recommend just trying out different value charts with a couple yellow color blending variations, on a separate piece of paper or canvas panel. This can help you with blending light to dark more. You can also try making as many color variations as you can with the colors Cad yellow deep, Yellow oxide, Cad Yellow light, dioxazine purple, white, and black. If you need links to color blending or value chart videos, let me know! happy painting!
@ThePaintingStoof
Thank you so much for your reply and suggestions. I've started a value chart; I'm weak in blending colors to achieve the desired outcome unless I know exactly which ones to use, so I know it will help. If it isn't inconvenient, I'd appreciate those links to color blending and value charts. Thanks for your help 🙂
How do you keep your blending background not to get muddy?
This is acrylic paint and it dries within 10-30 minutes, and sometimes starts to become tacky and easy to lay over it after just a few minutes without things getting muddy. Oil paint takes a lot longer to dry and it can be more challenging to layer/blend without colors getting muddy with oil paint.
