Why Are Coyotes Acting Aggressive In Stanley Park Vancouver

For a few months, it has been reported that there has been aggressive coyotes at Stanley Park (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.) I decided to go and see if I can see why they are acting this way. I came across a dog walker who said an aggressive coyote came within 10 feet of his dog. You can still hear the coyote continuing to vocalize until his dog left the area. I believe the coyote was just protecting their pups.
All wild animals will act aggressively if you get to close to their offspring. We must learn to co-exist with urban wildlife in order to protect them and ourselves.

There was an article in the American version of MSN today (08/19/21). It said that it might be due to toxins or drugs. In order to possibly be sure about that, one needs to do an autopsy of one of those coyotes.

Coyotes are territorial, they see these bigger dogs as intruders/competition on their territory. People shouldn't calmly, quietly walk past them. People should be using air horns etc., to frighten the coyotes. For the coyote's and people's safety the coyotes should be scared of people and elusive. They become more dangerous and aggressive when they are no longer afraid.
