Very very Thanks for sharing this. God bless you. An audio cassette of this solo is in my collection, because of continuous playing it is not work properly so I searched many times on the net and finally get it from here after 13 years. This solo is very close to my heart, because this is the first tabla solo I heard (of zakirji ). I think this is the best solo of zakir hussain ever. I recommend this to my friends to hear and detect the bols and bhavas of it. If you heard only this solo of Zakirji no need to heard another one because it is a complete one.
Ustadji comes up with an out-of-the world rau rela that starts at 1:03:37. Very crisp and fast, with wonderful use of tun to create a sonorous effect. But watch what he does from 1:04:45, at full speed he starts playing playing isolated strokes using a combo of ta, ta, tun, na (pardon me if I am wrong here) each of them played outside the beat. I don't think anybody else can do this. That is: starting a rau, going in full speed and the suddenly almost going in reverse, as if there is a reverse rau going within that rau. Educated tabla players may refine my analysis please.
@@hrm9808 Absolutely !!! He is rightfully the 'God of tabla'. There is always an undefined dimension in his playing. The way he plays with tonal modulations and aesthetics of sound, he is well and truly beyond praise. I fully accept that there not enough words to praise this great man, atleast I don't have.
@@Prof_Hazra_IIT True. Only thing I could say after listening to his Tabla is- Tabla is from A to Z, i.e. It starts from Abbaji and ends at Zakirbhai! Really Magical Hands which I don't think one could possibly achieve in one birth! Pranaam 🙏🏻👌🏻👑👏🏻
This is soo true. You should also listen to a similar rendition of the same concept by Pandit Ramdas Palsule ji. ua-cam.com/video/KtV-Tt1fNzk/v-deo.html While Zakir ji highlights open strokes, Ramdas ji highlights bol-s on the syaahi and 'kat' on the baayan through very systematic laykaari. He first goes into halving the avartan by highlighting a stroke, halves it further, and next makes six equal portions of the avartan. Lastly, he introduces portions of 4, each time starting from a different beat. Also, the rela is in tishra jaati.
