JazakAllah khair Mr Mufti Faraz . A hadith from Sunan Ibn Majah states: “A time will come upon people when they will consume usury (interest).” It was said: “All of the people?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever does not consume it will be affected by its dust.” [Sunan Ibn Majah, Book 12, Hadith 2278]. Despite all precautions we take, we are in this "dusty" atmosphere already, directly or indirectly. Your comments please, if you can!
I have another question. According to the principles you have outlined, would it be halal to work in IT for (i) a non-halal slaughterhouse, (ii) a brewery, (iii) a professional gambling company, or (iv) a brothel?
Let's ask another question: Do you use the services of: (i) Bank (ii)non-halal slaughterhouse (iii) brewery (iv) gambling company (v) brothel ? What is the answer? If you can avoid the last four completely, you being a true muslim why are you using the services of a bank? If you are, then don't you think you should pay them for the services they provide you and that benefit you?
Excellent video Mufti Faraz! What about a role we're you are trying to reduce the debt of a company? In this case you are working with Riba, but in fact are actually trying to minimise it. Should we avoid as per your principle of avoiding Riba?
My question is that it is obvious that the conventional banks income is from interest based transactions, so if a person working in IT , HR or security department but he is paid from the non-halal earning and it is known to all of us, aint that an issue? if no then what is the shairah justifications of it?
When conventional banks lend money, they (i) create money out of nothing through fractional reserve banking, and (ii) lend that money at interest, both of which are haram. My understanding is that this creation of money out of nothing is also integral to the functioning of Islamic banks when they lend money, so why do you distinguish between working for a conventional bank and an Islamic bank? Is it because counterfeiting money is somehow acceptable whereas dealing with interest is not?
@@According2Nur Yes, I agree with you, a bank cannot be "Islamic" if it creates money out of nothing. Nevertheless, the practice is unfortunately ubiquitous in the "Islamic banking" industry. So my question remains. If fundamentally the business of Islamic banks as currently practiced is based on fractional reserve banking/counterfeiting money and therefore haram, then why do we distinguish between the acceptability of working at a conventional bank and a supposedly "Islamic" one?
I am a lay person without much Islamic knowledge. I have a question. You are male whose on video and you using your face as a thumbnail picture. Like so many hundreds of scholars these days. Is it not that every female whose looks at your videos and even your thumbnail picture is sinning as they are ordered to lower their gaze to the opposite gender. Is is not that she is sinning for every second she is watching your videos and the person whose actually posting his pictures openly on social media is also sinning? Can you enlighten me or correct my understanding on how one can be on video and post his pictures without committing a sin by the opposite gender looking at him.

Salaamu Alykum Mufti. And the one who is employed by the bank as a plumber or electrician but gets paid by the bank as a salary.

Whether auditing transactions is haram?
What about working in finance department in a bank? Can it be considered halal?

Money is never created out of nothing in Islamic banking.
