Sanding that lip on the pump sack would be less of a gamble than the knife, but I went for eliminating that issue completely and got myself a small rechargeable air pump.
I have an xterm and xlite both have the same valve and use the same pump sack. I agree the sack is hard to put on, much harder than my nemo pad. I don't think it's necessary to shave away at the pump sack connection, I found it helps to squeeze the sides of the pump sack connector and it pops out. You can also use a "flextailgear" usb recharable mini air pump from amazon, it's light weight and game changer. It can pump up the pad and deflate it. It's heavier to carry 2 pump sacks.
Very helpful The modification you did to the inflation sack is key to me getting back into business with mine. Do you have any advice or clearer footage on how you achieved this? I could not see what part you pared away. Thank you
I just sort of used perpendicular friction with the knife to shave around the entire inside circumference. At first, I tried to sand it but the knife was quicker.
Add the lubricant to the pump sack as I have done. Then is slides on and of easier.
Genius. Thanks for the tip!

True about the sanding. I just lost patience after 15 minutes with 50 grit.🤨😂

Awesome. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions!
Here another one that is gonna replace his valve 😂🎉
Had exactly the same problem.
I have the XTherm, however, I've not noticed the tight fit in cold weather, YET!

@@outdoorgearrepair9187 Looks like Robert Williams suggested using the lubricant to reduce friction as well.
