York River - River of Marshes - Short Canoe Trip

- A quick canoe camping trip just outside of Bancroft, Ontario. This trip travels through beautiful Egan Chutes Provincial Park highlighting 3 rugged waterfalls, and finishes traversing crown land to Combermere, Ontario.
The trip is around 60 km with only 3 portages near the start of the trip all on river left. Although an easy trip, some of the take outs are quite close to the edge of the waterfalls. There are a few rapids and swifts that can be run or lined/dragged if the water is low. There are other trip reports that say there is a portage as well.
Conroy Marsh is a beautiful area to explore!
If visiting please respect Egan Chutes status as a natural reserve park and leave it the way you found it.
Can be done in 2 days or 3 leisurely days.

Oh if I had only waited until the credits appeared. Next time I will try patience. LOL
Lol! No worries. I do believe the water level was high for that time of year as I spoke with a lady while passing a cottage south of the dam who said she usually had a beach which was underwater. Would have to wade rather than run some of the shallow rapids but still would be a nice trip!
