I actually had to come to your channel to get this review. It would have been much easier had it been in the description and like you said it was in the other video… ;)
Scott, Thanks so much for your review. I have one ugly patio I am considering using SpreadRock on it and doing it myself. Wish me luck! I want to start this spring. I also watched the other video where you did the actual application. I love the way it turned out! Not sure what to do about my wooden expansion joints. If you have a suggestion let me know. Thanks again!
At the time of this video how long had the product been down. Just want to know how it held up to the Chairs and people traffic. That was not in the video you posted. Thanks T. Henry
Hi Scott. Would you please do an update on the Spread-Rock and how it's holding up after a year. I'm looking at doing my driveway, front walkway and garage floor with it. TY :)
So, if my math is correct, it was roughly $450 for the SpreadRock, $150 for the primer, and the cost of the sealer, which you did not state; my guess is about $100? So the entire project was about $700 plus the tape and other tools ad supplies. But the result is stunning, and it sounds like it's holding up well!! A complete replacement, or resurfacing by a contractor would have easily been in the thousands, I'm sure! My front porch and steps could use a facelift - you've got me thinking!!
What color did you use? How do you clean & maintain->Can you pressure wash? We are trying to decide between sandstone & brownstone and like sandstone but concerned about cleaning.
I used brownstone. I also sealed it using using two different sealers the second being the Daich brand. If you don’t seal it, it is prone to staining. With the sealer and some soup and water I have been able to clean it fairly well. I have never powered washed it. I am very pleased with its durability so far.
I have a plywood deck that I painted with a concrete paint mixed with sand a few years ago. Do you know if I could recoat with Spreadrock? Also, Im going to use it on a patio I just had resurfaced with concrete. How long should the concrete cure before I do this?
this product covers about half the area it claims to and you can hardly see the rock without a super close up shot..it has held up as far as chipping or peeling I have none of that and it feels great on bare feet..I need to clean this year so will see if it can take a good cleaning
Will this product cover slate? The previous owners kept adding to the patio through the years and there a lot of slate pavers all through the concrete and then some concrete doesn’t have them and I want a cohesive look!
I am just a DIYer. You should reach out to Daich and ask them. In my opinion, as long as your surface is stable & secure and relatively level and as long as you use the primer paint as directed and then apply the Spreadstone using a hopper like I did, it should work and should give you a uniform look. I am still very pleased.
Horrible product with no warranty. They will sell you the Terrazzo or Spread rock but not include or tell you it's mandatory to buy their primer and top sealer. This would more than triple the price. I applied a primer but not their top sealer, what a disaster. Runed my partially enclosed front concrete porch after spending hundreds of dollars. When I contacted the Company, they basically said " oh well " you did not use our sealer, your fault. Terrible public relations and warranty. Buyer Beware ! !

Thank you for the tips - we will try this product based on your recommendations
Looks great! Please give specifics about the sprayer you used, tip size, air pressure, etc. Thanks!

Will it be good to cover the (exterior) basement walls sticking out of the ground

Hi Rick, I’d be glad to do that next week. Thanks for the idea.
@@ScottsGarage17 hello Scott. Did you do a follow up video? By the way, the patio look 1,0000x’s better.
@@BlacHaze78 Yes, here it is. ua-cam.com/video/O4CtoiN653k/v-deo.html
Have you tried using it on other surfaces? I am wondering if it will bond to exterior walls that are not concrete

@@ScottsGarage17What was your total square footage? How many 5 gallons tubs of spreadrock & how many 5 gallon tubs of primer did you use?

How does it feel on bare feet? would it be good to use around a pool?
I'd like to know also
Is the spread rock itself nonslip/slip resistant?
Now that its been 5 months, do you notice any chipping or peeling of the surface layer?
No, not at all! We even had some severe weather - below zero and its holding up well.
@@ScottsGarage17 How well do you think this would hold up for a driveway ?
Looking to do this project this Fall. Also, where did you get that outdoor thermometer wall Art? Looking for that too!!
Anything on the Clock Wall Art and how to order?
The size of the patio in the video? Looks great!
Thanks for sharing! Curious how much square footage you had to cover?
Trying to estimate my own project here for about 500sqft...
Slightly less than 500 sq feet
How is the coating when wet? Does it get slippery?
How many years has it been down and how long does it last

SCOTT, DO THE CHAIRS ON THE PATIO SCRATCH THE SURFACE OF THE SPREADSTONE? OR DOES IT WEAR WELL?
No scratches at all!
I wanna see a review on this stuff in a garage floor with no prep

Will my dogs nails scratch this off?
Used it. Love it
We are in Scotland just wondered if this material can be purchased in UK?
Daich is a Canadian company. daichcoatings.com/shop/spreadrock/
What was your total cost?
Very helpful.
how did you create the pattern with the grout tape? The staggered look?
It’s kind of a long story, but I poured the pad very unconventionally. I taped over the actual joints.
Is it ok just to use the primer and leave it at that?
I was just looking at Daich's website, and yes you can, with a sealant recommended. They sell the primer as a standalone product for this purpose.
Do you really need the primer?
It's recommended, yes.
So how is it holding up so far?
As good now as when I sprayed it!
Looks good thank you
How muchs for fee
For squea foot
Bro show u doing it
Why are you talking, where is the demo?
