Feel like it wasn’t like this at launch with the cross creases you could actually play defense and it was fun.. maybe it’s just because OVRs were lower
The problem isn't that the cross crease goals go in the net, because they would in real life as well. The problem is that there is no way to defend them. You can completely read the play and manually cover the guy back door, but the pass will still go right through your player which makes it absolutely out of your control, thus taking away any reward for skill-based defending. They either need to increase pass interception rates, or better, add a button where you can effectively tie the open player up as the pass is coming to them
And also, if I'm playing the AI it's hard for me to defend my zone from these, but if I attempt one that has a wide open lane to pass, it gets intercepted every time. Especially on higher difficulty it never goes through on offense it seems

Still want it to work when it gets through, still want the occasional manual sauce that's just perfect to work , but like.. 1 in 20 ( with the defender there ), not like 80% with the defender there.
Amen to the Cross Crease issue. Personally I don't mind them going in. I do feel the Goalie should be able to adjust to the player who scored like in real life. Make the percentage lower for the Cross Crease to go in if say McDavid scored on Bobrovsky in 1st Period, then chance goes from 80% to 70%. I have noticed EA has allowed for more physicality to let D hit the Offensive player receiving the Cross Crease pass. Your last opponent in game #19? Where you oddly lost, played excellent Defense. Your next X-Factor pull, let your dog decide. Set out 3 bowls of food, and whichever bowl number he eats, that's your pick.

Always get your champs games in for the best rewards then just do rivals whenever u want honestly

That Oetinger is a killer. He always performed super well against me... He seems to have rob you so many times in your 19th game
