Self plumbing is always usually better then factory plumbing. You don't usually have the constraint of staying cheap. Nice fix! 73

Yeah, it wasnt cheap, but it will last and fits the space smartly.

One of the very first things I had to do to my admittedly used RV when I bought it was replace all the plumbing. It was so worth the hassle.

Best to do that right from the beginning before you get on the road!

You are in Texas. The wind is blowing. I am convinced that the dust just comes through the walls.

I usually hook the pressure before the the hose, I have seen the hose swell up from really high pressure at rv parks. Good info for fixing the plumbing!

love the plumbing fix. what I do. put extra shut off valves. my home is all PEX . They just slap the plumbing together when bult. PEX just flopping around. after a wile with that flexing it will leak. with that dust I have seen a portable electro static are filter. do not remember the brand. was a 120V ac . but was small and have to clean it a lot. I have seen water inlet used a short wight hose with 90 elbow and own ground the flow regulator and flow meter on the brick to take load off inlet fitting. I do RV repairs and see lots of ideas from outers.

Thanks! I did add a shut off valve between the city water connection and the water pump. Highly recommended.

I had to do plumbing work on my own as one of the old poly tubing fittings was cracked. I cut the tubing, installed a PEX with 1/4 turn valve and then connected 3/8" to the faucet.

Hi Steve, for an air filter, check out the 'Pure' line of air filters. USB/DC powered and the one I have contains a small battery. I run one in my truck and my bedroom. Filters start out grey (charcoal?) and fade to white with use. A four-pack of filters is only $5/ea. I change the filter about once a month for my usage.

I ran a HEPA filter here in my radio room and it didn't do squat for the dust. You can grow potatoes in the dust here because it's never ending.

Good idea to run your pump. I’ve seen too many times where a situations forces RVers to run off their pumps and they haven’t used it for months - then it doesn’t work. We run off of our tank even when hooked up. But then, we’re boondocking most of the time so we’re used to it.

RV water leaks are the worst.

I would have turned the water off until morning. After coffee.

A shame about the filter. I used to blame the dog for all the dirt also. Then she crossed the rainbow bridge and there was still dirt in the RV. Who do I blame now? Can't be me, right?
