I thought that were the words but online says If love is the answer you hold Hold on If love is the answer you hold And to me I like what I thought it was but if it isn’t and is that, in some ways it’s even better. Hold on.
After the death of Michael Jackson, it is my second great musical sadness. Daft Punk, this is my country. It's France. The French Touch. Thank you for this tribute.
This is their masterpiece. Getting Paul Williams to sing was an absolute masterstroke. The humanity in his voice is amazing. That's a massive life lived for such a small guy.
Guess I'm not the only one, being that emotional and nostalgic about this song... it's beautiful Jonathan. It moves me just like "Something about us". Sending much love. Daft Punk 1993-2021. An Era comes to an end.
I've made this comparison as it pertains to Daft Punk: I like to imagine this is what it felt like for our parents and grandparents when The Beatles broke up. That's how important Daft Punk is for music and, really, culture as a whole. The music scene will feel a little more empty without the hope of a new Daft Punk album, but this is a chance for a new musical act to rise and reach the levels Daft Punk did.
9:17 The moment when he realizes what says in the car in front of him... it's really hard not to cry while looking at it. Such a great video man! glad i saw this today
Finally an unsimulated reaction ! That doesn't sound fake. It's not that common on UA-cam. One of the most beautiful tributes you could pay to the French duo.👍
The ending of the song always makes me emotional. I still remember getting ready for school and seeing Da Funk on tv (I was intrigued by the dog mask lol). They've been part of our lives for a long time. I always admired their longevity and the fact that they remained anonymous while being huge worldwide.
Wow... Thank you for sharing your emotional reaction. I feel touched knowing that Touch had meaning and touched others like it touched me. I just heard the news 💔, watched the Epilogue which ended with my favourite song which in turn led me here. ‘Get Lucky’ may have won the grammy however Touch was sadly the most underrated Daft Punk song for reasons I can understand why. I didn’t resonate with it for a long time and always skipped it thinking it was ‘eerily creepy’. Years later, one day I was out running and forgot to select next track, as if hearing it for the first time and without realising I was still listening to the Random Access Memories album, I thought “what the hell was that!? What song is this? Wait, Random Access Memories... Touch!? Hang on, how come I don’t know this song??”. With too much confusion going on, I stopped, sat on a park bench, played it from the beginning, closed my eyes, and really, really listened to it, wanting to hear everything and every sound. I was completely stunned, I was speechless, Touch took me on a journey, one that transcends space and time, away from this physical world we wake up conscious too every morning. It was deeply psychological, yet profoundly human. Still to this day no other song has ever blew my mind like Touch has and it still gives me goosebumps. Anyway, that was the long answer to a question no one asked! Haha I love synthwave and retro too so happy I ‘stumbled’ across your channel, will definitely check out more of your stuff! Thank you again Jonathan.
Thanks for stopping by! Yeah I am sure we are all glad you listened to the song! Very great articulation of what it means to you as well!! thanks for sharing that
Man, that intro got me. I moved away from home and friends 3 years ago to gain work experience in my career field. I'm a motorcycle mechanic, and the at the shop i work in, I work alone all day besides seeing the owner here and there to see what work needs done that day. Then i just go home or to the grocery store. So really....the last 3 years, i've just been alone. I'm just surrounded by old farmers, with no one my age around to share my interests with. I really got into synthwave because i just put youtube music on in the shop and blast it all day. It's how i found your channel. Finding someone like yourself to kindda listen to music with and know that you aren't afraid to show your feelings is extremely refreshing. I'm finally moving back to my home state of arizona in a couple of weeks and i couldn't be more excited to see some old friends and family again. But i am glad i took this time away, because i really got comfortable with myself and learned a lot. You're a cool dude. You keep doing you and never stop these videos! I didn't know DP were retiring. I have a lot of great memories that had Daft Punk playing in the background. I'm ready to start life again.
Im glad youre ready to start life again Charlie! Seems like 2021 is looking up, and I'm happy for you⚡️ I totally believe that experience that comes with being alone is totally worth it. Gained a lot of XP from that, I'm sure.
It's been 4 years since I moved away from home and as same as you to gain work experience in my career field. I'm moving back to my home state next month. I'm just happy to see someone besides me is moving back
Perdona que no hable ingles. Cuando escucho esta cancion mi corazón se estremece, la frase "Hold on, if love is the answer, you're home", me llena de mucha felicidad y tristeza, una felicidad por que es verdad y una tristeza por no querer que termine. Un saludo desde México y mucha suerte.
As a 25 years old french guy, I grew up with those guys, I'm gonna miss them so much... Thank you for sharing this moment with us. It made me realise that we all are Humans After All...
Never stop making videos man. Feeling the emotion of a song that hits so hard it brings you to tears, watching someone else feel this too is a beautiful thing!
8:04 damn, seeing your eyes fill with tears at the most beautiful part of the song almost made me cry too, i just discovered Daft Punk a year ago when they retired but immediately fell in love with their work, cant imagine how emotional it must have been for some fans like you when they retired, great video, made me feel soft melancholy emotions...
Bonding with someone over the internet and crying tears over what I still believe is the greatest song ever produced makes me feel so good with sharing the appreciation for good music thank you for this... I mean it...
Seeing how gradually his eyes filled with tears speak to me in a very deep way , to me daft punk has been there my whole life i remember being like 7 years old and hearing around the world or one more time , and this song was not one of my favourites but now every time i hear it its impossible not to cry, even more in the last two minutes.
The only album that makes me cry. Maybe its nostalgia... or maybe its just the pure beauty. Thank you for reminding me of my love for this album. I'm going to go out tomorrow and buy the physical CD to live in my car forever.
I don't believe in coincidence, the fact that Jeep was there at that exact time. Your intention to provide good to others in trying times was actualized in reality. Much Love.
Man you made me tear up haha. This is such a beautiful song. For me, this song feels like a quick video of my life. Starting off with Paul Williams painting off a moment of my current thoughts. With a sense of wonder, innocence, curiosity and desire. The upbeat a few minutes in reminds me of my 20's when I was more social and living a different kind of joyful life. More care free and thoughtless. Then the sudden slow down being my darker days when I was all alone and I was going through some things for a few years. I was just trying to hold on, but it was hard. Then one day the sun came out and I felt something I haven't felt in a long time. My heart began to feel love again. My inner innocence and sense of wonder returned. Now even with the current hard times and being alone most of the time while being far from home. Life isn't so grey and bland anymore for me. I see life in colors again and I desire live. I can handle things better now. The pace and beauty of this song reminds me of those times. Thanks for the video and hope you are doing well!
Yeah, dude. This song hits me hard too. It did when it dropped in 2013, then it hit like a truck during the height of the loneliness of the pandemic. Now, in a world that's Daft Punkless, listening to it on the RAM 10th anniversary edition, it hits like a freight train. Solid reaction, man. I feel you.
This particular song is one of my favorite. It's such an emotional song. It will always remind me of my mom who was on her final stage of life. Going through all that was very emotional for me and this song is the perfect example of that. If that makes any sense to you guys.
Oh God it feels like being in another place full of tranquility and no distractions this song is a masterpiece, can you also react to the song beyond from random access memories?
It's sad and upsetting to see it come to an end, but holy cow, what a career. These two changed dance music forever, with an attention to detail, consistency, and a classiness no one has ever been able to match. Legends. You're A Real Person Jon 😟 Seeing you shed tears also makes me Even more Sad. Never Stop Making These videos .❤️ I watched all of your videos multiple times, I love to see you Mentioning me As MVP. ❤️ 😭💙🥺
Feeling it...hearing the news was definitely depressing...found myself tearing up like you to alot of their songs today...the perfect word for this is Reflection....your words about the connections that we used to take for granted, and now no longer can have without possibly being ostracized. 2020 cut deep..and its leaving behind scars that we will never be allowed to forget...for better or worse.
I remember going out with my mom buying headphones when i was 7 because my mom had suggested that i don't listen to the song without them. I got the headphones and when i heard the song for the first time i cried. I was blown away. Touch will always stick with me emotionally and it will always be an important piece to me. I remember near the end of august 2020 i had just gone thru a breakup, and i was preparing for high school, I got even more attached to music and i was just laying in bed for hours just listening to this song. It really numbed me and almost made me feel better, i think this song is just one of those rare moments when a song can really heal someone. For that i am grateful, and for daft punk i am thankful. :)
Thank you Jonathan for making these videos, especially this tribute to such a beautiful song. Listening once more, but alongside you, reacting in similar ways at similar points to the song, is rare yet wonderful experience. My heart swells knowing I am not alone in feeling such a vulnerable moment by a song in the way you have shared. I love your video format for sharing the music listen experience with strangers on UA-cam. Again, thank you for creating these experiences, Jonathan. Be careful on the roads and stay safe; here's to better days ahead of us ❤️
I honestly do not know why I cried as well. Maybe it's because Daft Punk has been apart of my life for so long. I remember staying up late as a kid and hearing Around the World on MTV. I was instantly amazed of what I saw and heard. I later joined the Army and Discovery just came out. It has kept me company while I was at war in Iraq. It made me felt like I was back at home. So to this, Daft Punk I thank you for being there for me in my time of need.
I totally love this song. When social distancing became the norm. I played touch and watched the Within video, countless times. These songs/videos were foreshadowing & almost apocalyptic.
Love for all.. love each other will save the humanity and the Earth.. is the answer and this is the home of all ,under the blue sky!! Let it grow.. peace💕💕✌😎💖
Wow that listening part made me feel like I’m watching the ending of a movie/series where the protagonist finally hits the road and leaves their home/old life behind, listening to the song while reminiscing on everything they’re leaving behind (spliced with a montage of them in between)
recognize in you the eyes of my friend that he came one day and brought light to my house, in return, just looking at me warmly, so that I would not create. Now I look at you, listen, feel on the other side of the eight. We will meet again one day and just be silent to the fantastic sounds of life. Hug u
I've been listening to Daft Punk since Cartoon Network played Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger on a Ben 10 promo in 2005. Then I discovered them at last at Toonami's Digital Arsenal with the Midnight Run Special Edition promo. I wished I'd listen to Touch earlier when it was first released to me, a struggling high schooller, facing introversion, rejection at the time, bullied for only speaking English in an Indonesian country, being the new kid whose weird ever since my parents got deported and me and my siblings moved with them since I was 10 at the time in 2008. I longed for some reassurance of acknowledgement like this song. Thanks for the memories Monsieurs Guy-Manuel and Thomas...
Very emotional see you crying and feeling the song.. deep song.. we are living hard times about relationships .. touch each other is the reason we live
Damn man, I recognize the emotion. This song does that to me every time I hear it. I remember being in Surinam when R.A.M. came out and having to download the album via an ultra slow connection, the anticipation, the amezement... It's the second time I watched your vid, the second time i've cried along. I imagine I'll be back to cry some more. See you then.
I teared up with you my friend, thank you for this. Daft Punk has been with me through some of the most important moments of my life so far and I am in a long mourning. Appreciate you putting this out.
Oh Jeez I’ve seen so many videos on UA-cam and Hands down by far this is the Greatest. I’m not joking in floods of tears because this is what Music does. And seeing your reaction to this song I’m lost for words at this time I needed this. Thank you
Love this. I always loved this song. It's actually my favorite of all their songs. The passion, the emotion, the grind you get from this song are the same that I get. I actually teared up the same time you did. It hits like a heavy stone. Love it brother man.
Over a year later; right there with you bud. Fucking incredible what music can do. Almost a decade later, I can confidently claim this is among the greatest songs written in my lifetime.
Thank you so much for sharing your reaction, I never get sick of this song. The ending transition is so insanely beautiful and emotional, it makes me on the verge of tears nearly every listen.
Its strangly comforting sharing tears with another person over the internet about the same thing
I appreciate that
@@JonathanBelle same....thank u

The reason I subscribe to this channel. I think music is best when it's shared, even virtually.
Also my favorite Daft Punk song. Simply sublime.
Was just thinking this ....
“Hold on, If love is the answer your home” shook me when that came on in the epilogue video.
Same 😔 I was 10 when Alive 2007 happened, and always hoped I would see them live one day... not meant to be 😭
Didnt get the meaning actually?

Tears in the eyes of the listener is the ultimate reward for the musician's work.
A part of me died when Daft Punk retired. For being robots, their music made me feel more human than human.

I just found your video, and it brought me to tears even after a year of the news.....
Wow that listening part made me feel like I’m watching the ending of a movie/series where the protagonist finally hits the road and leaves their home/old life behind, listening to the song while reminiscing on everything they’re leaving behind (spliced with a montage of them in between)
So Awesome brother, Your feeling that Daft Punk Vibe like we all are.. Blessings 🙌
one of my favourites too
Very moving. Thank you for sharing
recognize in you the eyes of my friend that he came one day and brought light to my house, in return, just looking at me warmly, so that I would not create.
Agreed Roca

My tears started at the same time when the orchestra kicks in. Amazing song.

Love this. I always loved this song. It's actually my favorite of all their songs. The passion, the emotion, the grind you get from this song are the same that I get. I actually teared up the same time you did. It hits like a heavy stone. Love it brother man.
it's okay to cry.
Over a year later; right there with you bud. Fucking incredible what music can do. Almost a decade later, I can confidently claim this is among the greatest songs written in my lifetime.
