Why is it teens can’t buy beer or cigarettes until they are 21 years old , but they can buy guns at 18years old no questions asked. Why doesn’t Trump and Abbot and all senators see the real issue? OK folks I will chip in with whatever little I could offer. I'm so very sorry for the families of the victims and the innocent kids and teachers. May they rest in peace. I know it's easy to make decisions in the heat of the moment based on emotions and usually those tend to be bad decisions. Sadly and this is reality this is how dictators and Communists have disarmed their populace. They take advantage of a crisis or past crisis and the ensuing fear of people to pass anti-gun laws. Once they disarmed their population it's all over! One good example of this is Chavez who back in 2012 said he passed anti-gun laws "For the good of the people and because of increase of crime". After that it all went downhill. Chavez took complete control and Venezuela as we know it ceased to exist with many Venezuelans scattered all over the world. Now as for the gun control debate and stats, it's my understanding that places like Chicago where they have the strictest gun laws have a high homicide rate and same thing with many areas where Democrats are in control. Why is that? Because criminals who don't follow such laws will find a way to get the guns no matter (even if on the black market) while good law-abiding citizens will be totally disarmed and helpless and at their mercy! Now how best could this tragedy have been prevented??? MORE gun laws??? What's the use of having MORE gun laws if criminals don't follow them??? Now there are things nobody's addressing and that is how our nation has been in moral decline for quite some time now. People hardly attend church, God prayer and the bible were taken out of the school system decades ago and you see the garbage that's been taught in the classrooms now where teachers are being confronted by the angry parents about it! But yet people expect these kids to turn out to be great decent and moral citizens!!! Doesn't work like that folks! Add to that the fact these kids don't have people mentoring them who are competent enough, wise enough etc. but instead they spend their whole days playing video games that are quite graphic and quite violent!!! This is at the root of the issue here folks! When someone wants to do something they will find a way! Even with a car someone will run over people and we've seen that! A car or truck being turned into a weapon! Yet you don't see people trying to ban cars and trucks or buses do you??? There was an ex KGB defector to Canada in the 80s who passed away. He said the Soviets KNEW that what made America great and/or strong was religion and morality so they infiltrated the school system to brainwash the kids - and as you can see they have succeeded! This is the main reason our nation is in moral decline and in the mess it's in! A gun doesn't shoot itself. A knife doesn't move by itself to stab people. A truck doesn't ram itself into people! It's the people who are mentally disturbed or morally deficient who are doing these things!!! And yes, let's not forget people can use fire and commit arson if they want to cause death and destruction - NOT just guns! And just to give you a good example of this, how come in the better neighborhoods there's less crime and homicide than in poverty stricken ones or ghettos??? Other questions arise such as how about the fact there was no security available at the school? How come there aren't enough measures being implemented to protect kids such as giving them training to know how do act during emergencies such as a fire, a bomb threats, active shooter etc. etc.? Here in NYC this is mandatory at least for businesses! If you're honest you will do your due diligence rather than caving to the left's repeated calls for MORE gun control, knowing full well they're Marxists who want to overthrow our nation and one of their main tactics for doing so is, of course, gun control! Let's not allow the US become another Venezuela!!! Also the fact that police took so long to respond is yet another issue! There should be multiple check points for someone entering a school. People shouldn't be allowed to just "walk in"! There should be cameras so security can spot unusual things and threats at a distance BEFORE anything happens! There should be intercoms so security can clear someone before allowing them in and there should be a system where visitors have to announce themselves and they're cleared from someone at the school before coming in! People shouldn't just be able to "walk in" unannounced and if they have an emergency or need to speak to someone they should get permission from the person inside to make sure such a person can be allowed on the premises! There should be metal doors that are locked from the inside where people shouldn't just be able to get in at will! There are plenty of things that could be done to prevent tragedies! Common sense stuff folks! And many good and proven security measures! Also it would be great if each school has at least two armed guards or police officers on the ready and close enough/ by the premises to respond to emergencies because it could take quite a while before police or other emergency personnel show up! Time is of the essence when there's an emergency, specially when something like this occurs! Of all the things I mentioned you have plenty of things that could be done that could make a HUGE difference, rather than trying to just talk about gun control because certain people are like broken records and that's all they talk about without looking at the whole picture!

Trump does not understand why the US is helping Ukraine. Even Republicans who support our efforts do not explain why we are helping a Democratic nation invaded by a Communist dictator. Putin has eyes on other European nations. The complete destruction of cities, murder of civilians, destruction of clearly marked buildings with children, hospitals, and schools are only some of the crimes against humanity. Russia refuses the bodies of its dead soldiers from Ukraine in order to continue lying to the Russian people about what is happening in Ukraine. Mental health and government follow through. The shooter in New York recently had been evaluated and they knew he shouldn't have guns but they failed to tag him so he would not pass the background check. They had that tool in place but law enforcement didn't use the tag. Almost looks like they might have allowed that one to happen.
