Ron Wood has always been a consistently underrated guitarist. Sure, not as fluid as Mick Taylor (who's a good friend of his), but undoubtedly capable of holding his own. I do think Wood sort of made a deal with the Devil though in order to join up with the Stones after Taylor departed. Part of that bargain included agreeing to never ever upstage Keith Richards, either on stage or in the studio. There's really no comparison between his playing as *the* guitarist in the Faces and his work as a Rolling Stone. Wood was utterly ferocious with the Faces, loud, brash and very in your face, but still displaying an enormous amount of talent and very tasteful playing. His stuff with the Stones though, well, like I said, it always seems as if he goes to great pains to never outshine Keith Richards (which he's clearly capable of doing if he wanted to). Just more of that "guitar weaving" gobbledygook.
Jimbo .... I am writing to you from Buenos Aires Argentina. It's true what you say about "outshining" Keith ... but while everyone has their guitar playing style, Ron seems to be more versatile for Rock, Blues and R & B and has remained with the Stones, because It is also a fundamental leg of that wonderful and great band. I send you a hug Gustavo
Fanstastic Ronnie love you
Wood has always been one of the most unique and tastiest guitarist on the planet-always plays in support of the song
if true ... a second or first guitar that has to be in a band greetings
@@DGCGARY59 He rubbish
One would think that it's Ron and Bernard doing a standard; but this is their song from Ronnie's last solo album. This version here, much grander.
The man is a legend
Thanks for posting!

I don't think it's a competition. Ron plays lead guitar, Keef plays rhythm.
