I only own 2 glass dip pens the other ones broke The kakimori nibs are much better. (Steel and Brass with the kakimori aluminum nib holder)

I have the brass and so not happy with it. Hard to write and when it does, it's a mess on the first 5 words. Heavy ink... Just gave up on it.

I’ve bought hundreds of dollars worth of glass dip pens… all broken now. I love them while they last but I’m giving up on them. All you need to do is tap the nib on the inside of a glass while you are rinsing it or it rolls off the table.

Yeah they can. I've used my Wancher glass nib and find it to be very study. Not sure if you've had one of those in your collection.

I''ve had a lot of good luck with my glass pens, nothing broken. I mostly use small ink samples so I'm extra careful when I'm working - too many options for a disaster with glass and silly little open ink vials to knock over, so I'm very deliberate and careful in my movements. You can get the Chinese made glass pens for just few dollars. They mostly come unground and won't write until you grind them. I wonder how many people buy a cheap glass pen and give up because it doesn't write immediately?
I've heard people with quite expensive glass pens say they write no different to the cheap stuff, but you may need to finish the very cheap ones before they are usable. I just use wet and dry sandpaper. 400 or 600 to shape it, and finer grades to finish it to get it to how smooth you want it. (1200 or 2000, depending).
I don't shake the glass pens around much. Dip it in the water and swirl, then wipe it on a bit of tissue paper and it's good to go again. The only ink that leaves a trace after that is Noodler's Baystate Blue LOL.

Probably alot as you want the experience quickly in writing with a new pen. For me, if I buy something I want it to work out of the box. Especially if I pay more for it. These two, I wss disappointed in the brass nib. I don't use it at all and the Kemmy Labo, that wss me buying broad vs med. I went by the writing sample/ description and it seemed to be off.
