Its because it still was a time when companys spent cash on develop chassis. It has front double wishbone. Wich "acessible new sports cars" have this today?
Great driving. Those are big g's from no aero, and you were right on top of the rear getting floaty at high speed. I remember when the best drivers and best built S2000's were just starting to crack the 2 min mark with far more modifications.
Wow, congratulations on setting the new track record Watching this motivates me to make the voyage to GTA at Buttonwillow this year. I've been there twice - the 1st time in my car with aero, and the 2nd time in a borrowed, non-aero S2K. Both times I was doing 2:04.xx lap times, and had trouble seeing where I could find even 5 seconds to get "sub 2". Watching your driving blew my mind open for how I need to change some of my corner entry angles, how to set those up, and where corner exit really matters. I'm going to watch this a few more times - almost feels like cheating, so thank you
Awesome Driving 👊🏼 Question …..is Button willow 13CW in general a bit faster than 13CCW? … id say, maybe by -1. 5 second -ish.. Would love to hear from u if u have driven the track in both directions.. 🙏
In this video I'm at -3.1 camber all around, 0 toe front and I think ~3/16" toe in rear. That's only because I couldn't get any more camber as the tires are still edge wearing - I've since added some camber joints that give me a bit more. But obviously it's all a balancing act for tire wear if you still street drive the car.
I don't know the track and times so can't tell. But from my experience barbarian driving style means slower lap times. But depends on the tires also. Some tires slide a lot but can deliver good lap times . Others stick like glue with not so good results
It’s amazing that 20+ years after the introduction of the s2000 the chassis is still so capable in the right hands.

Tires are a hell of a thing ;)

1st time for me seeing a video doing quick heel and toe.
Beautiful drive! It was so good to see how you handle and release the break!
That was some serious commitment bro! Great driving, keep digging!
Nice driving! Can't wait to try out the RE-71RS
Tires and good suspension setup makes a huge improvement in lap times.
Crazy time! New bench mark every year from you❤
Amazing foot gear shift
That Mustang SCOOTS !! Seriously surprised how well its taking those corners, given its weight and size, and weigh distribution😊🚗 💨
Impressive!! I love S2ks… SUBSCRIBED!!!
That is pretty damn impressive
nice driving!
I appreciate the Mac Miller soundtrack
Haha glad you like. One of my favorite beats.
god damn it nate
Hi Alex😂
🫡
Well Done 'hop. This is great.

Awesome Driving 👊🏼

Good driving! Like the content.
Awesome driving!
impressive
This is some excellent driving! I have to ask though, what software are you using for the speedo and traction circle hud?
Fair play to ya mate
Awesome driving. Up to 1.5g without aero is great, any plans to add some aero?
Hey thanks! I'm trying to take the car as far as I can reasonably go with no aero before I start piling on the downforce :)
@@W33lhop sounds like a good plan 👍
Are you running staggered tire sizes?
Do you feel the suspension is a bit too stiff for the track? My impression is it is especially for the amount of curb you’re taking.
dude I race a similar s2000 im just learning but I cant even comprehend the skill holy shit
I couldn't hear the bov?
😂
Very nice! OEM rear wheels or aftermarket 17x9?
Thanks man - 17x10 Apex VS-5RS
what's your alignment spec? I have basically the same step up but unsure what is too much camber.

Are you running an oil cooler, baffled oil pan, catch can, rainh8er mod or anything else oil-related?
Toda oil pan and modified valve cover :) I'd like to do an oil cooler too.
@@W33lhop Thanks for the reply! Did you have an oil pressure gauge that showed pressure was dropping or you installed the oil pan as a safety measure?
So basically if you are not faster than a 1:56 you don’t need aero. Roger that.
it looks like you have wide rims on the front and back of your car. are they 7.5" rims?
17x10
wow, what suspension are you running?
Ohlins TTX & 14k/12k
Karcepts front bar, Miata rear
How is no one commenting on how fast that mustang is ?
Thank God for corners. No straight line power for speed
ap1 flywheel?
Stock AP2 flywheel & clutch delay valve lol
Dam, the interior looks like brand new! How much miles have on your s2k?
Thanks - up to 61k now :)
😲
Hmmm
Hungarian GP 2021:
Coach me please!
How do you feel about RE71RS? Debating trying them compared to the A052.
They're awesome. I'd put em up against yokos (A052), with maybe a tad less grip but they last a bit longer.
I don't know the track and times so can't tell. But from my experience barbarian driving style means slower lap times. But depends on the tires also. Some tires slide a lot but can deliver good lap times . Others stick like glue with not so good results
For this level of driving u should get an oil cooler
Snatch oversteer due to running square? Also, you seem to fight with the wheel too much.
