virtual riot has no idea how much of an impact he's had on my life and it would be embarrassing to even explain it. most importantly though, his music was so emotionally touching to me when i was going through a rough childhood, and to this day nobody's music can bring me joy the way VR's does

This is not dubstep. This is complextro, which is a subgenre of Electro house. Dubstep is 140-150 BPM and is halftime while Electro house is usually 128 BPM and has 4 on the floor beat pattern.

I still remember when he became viral after uploading "Idols", "Energy Drink" gave him a boost too.
