As a German I say thank you for your praises. ❤
You're very welcome, thank you for having such a beautiful country
Sometimes i would like to have 10 thumbs , such a nice person
You're too sweet :)
I think German architecture is some of the best in the world!
I couldn't agree more!
I am german and glad you like this country
It's such a beautiful country
Hamburg is nice. There are many other nice cities. I´m living near the Alps .. if you want to hike mountains, you should do this before November, because of snow.
Oh I would love to go the the Alps one day, such a beautiful area
😂🎉❤ you are and will be always welcome here in Germany - we need positive people like you 🤓🫵🫶👏🖖
Oh thank you, you're too kind
Speaking of German driving skills… here in Germany you have to pay 2500-4500€ for a driving license and go to driving school for 3-6 months… so you can count on good driving skills ;-)
That's very expensive, but definitely worth it to ensure safe drivers!
If you arrived in Germany from another SCHENGEN state, you don't have to go thru customs, usually, there isn't even one. From outside the SCHENGEN zone it is the same as everywhere else.
Very interesting, I came in from Dubai and didn't have to go through customs
@@Coralie_Anne it depends on your declarations. If you have nothing to declare relating to import taxes you can just avoid that part. If you import goods into Europe you have to go through customs on your own. If you don't and get caught you'll be fined.
👍🥨👍🍞👍🥐👍 Welcome to Germany!
Greetings from the Black Forest.
Thank you, visiting the black forest is definitely on my Germany bucket list!!
That trainstation looks similar to the one in Winsen (Luhe). NIce that you enjoye(d) your time in germany 😁
Oh I've been to that town once before!
Hi. If you really like to stay here i think you can get a German Passport because of your Grandma.
My Grandma wasn't German, but someone down her family line was. Not too sure who or how far back it is, I'll have to try and do some family tree research
Regarding the paid sick leave: when you are sick, up to 6 consecutive weeks are paid by your employer. So, if you get sick multiple times within the same year, the sick leave paid by your employer could be even more than 6 weeks. After that, you get up to 78 weeks of 'sick pay' from your health insurance.
Oh wow.. that's insane!! I love that so much
Often I watch on DMAX the shows about the opal/gold miners, outback truckers and so on and I'm fascinated. But the same time I'm shocked about the time you have to spend on the road for simple things. Also I like the charming ppl you are.
Oh yes, it can take a very long time to drive places!
On a traffic jam on the Autobahn its called the right hand rule. You use your right hand and put your thumb to the left and any other fingers to the right to get the emergency lane, so the most left lane gets to the left and any others goes to the most right way possible and its mandatory by law. Actually its a thing in most, if not any European countries.
It's a brilliant law!
Die deutsche Bahn würde sich sehr über dein Kompliment freuen.
Deutsche lieben es alles zu kritisieren, so auch die Bahn.
If they were to live in another country outside the EU for a longer period of time, they would know how good Deutsche Bahn is.
Exactly! It might not be perfect with delays, but it's still miles ahead of many other countries
And in other situations , i would like to have 10 midlefingers :)
Hahaha, I feel that
If you would like to try raw minced pork (Mett), but don't really feel confident, then I can recommend that you look for “Veganes Mühlen Mett Fein” from Rügenwalder Mühle (red windmill logo) when shopping. It tastes very similar on a bread roll with a little salt, pepper and fresh onions on top.
Interesting Not sure I'm brave enough!
@@Coralie_Anne Try it, it's vegan so not much can happen like with fresh meat and if you don't like it, at least it was an experience. You only live once.
I agree, Germany has some really marvelous cities. If you have the time you should really go visit places like Neumünster, Duisburg, Essen, Dortmund or Salzgitter. Most beautiful cities here in Germany! 🙌
Oh thank you, I'll definitely add them to the bucket list and see how many we can get to :)
But only if the Ogre comes too..
I'd rather heat over cold! the last snowfall we had in the hills was in 1951. I remember, in the 90s i think it was, light snow falling at Mt Lofty a day or 2 after Christmas. There's a 7 News report of snow flurries at Mt Lofty in 2021. ABC and 9 News also show snow in the Flinders in 2020, Mt Lofty in 2016 and 2015. Tho to be fair it's normal a light dusting in SA. I've been watching the latest season of Jet lag: The Game and they complain about how bad the trains are, I cant remember if it's specifically German or Italian trains. SA did have a lot more trainlines but they started pulling up the tracks and abandoning them, even as late as the 80s and 90s.
The Northern suburbs have 3 bins - normal rubbish, all in one recycling and a green/organic waste bin. Container Deposit Legislation has been in SA since 1977. It hadnt spread to other states because of a section of the Constitution regarding free trade between the states. The SA legislation required an exemption from a Federal Act. The NT deposit scheme was challenged in court until they were alos exempted from the same Act. The deposit was originally 20c or 10c for glass bottles depending on size. it went down when platic bottles were introduced. IIRC a certain well known major soft drink manufacturer also lobbied against a Federal deposit scheme for many years saying they didnt work.
At least we have the Lobethal lights, tho heard they haven't been as good the last few years. I guess the Autobahn is better than a one way part time road to nowhere 🤣Until 2007 the Northern territory had no speed limit outside of built up areas. You could buy fireworks in the ACT up til 2009. Pretty sure we saw them in a supermarket there when i was on school trip in the 90s.
I hate summer and i hate heat. I cannot stand it. sweating everywhere, taking care not to get a sunburn. Food spoiling so fast, not being able to wear what you want and the insects... yuck !
Oh I love reading all your facts. I swear you must be amazing at quiz night!!
I am German in Germany and I love Australia. I wanna go there since I was 16 yo butr never managed it til now
Oh amazing!! I hope you have a wonderful time in Australia :)
@@Coralie_Anne from which part are you if I may ask?
thank you
:)
Tostedt 😍
Such a gorgeous town :)
Hello. Deutsche Bahn is efficient? I'll call the management at Deutsche Bahn, they won't believe it themselves. 😊.
There haven't been real German winters for a long time. Depending on where you live.
You don't earn anything with the Pfand. It's just to keep trash down in public.
The emergency lane is required by law, but the penalties are too low
And I wouldn't say German drivers are better. I have now driven over 1 million km in my life and can give a verdict.
There are strict rules when it comes to raw meat. Fresh minced meat/Hackfleisch may then only be sold on the day of production.
Pregnant women have special rights. You can't fire them. § 17 des Mutterschutzgesetzes.
Within the Schengen area in the EU, you do not need a passport.
On the subject of visas. Just get married sometime. There are almost only advantages/benefit.
Less dangerous animals in Germany.
All great points! I'm sure the longer I live here the more I'll find these things out. Very interesting about the pregnant women!
