- Well it happened again making this the 5th Whelen siren I've heard to do this. I did tell a fireman from the station about it. Hopefully it gets fixed soon, since this siren gives the downtown area quite a bit of coverage.
If you keep those sirens healthy, their startups might sound like they're happy
From these videos, it does seem like battery issues.
The battery voltage is dropping when the siren is activated and the amp (?) goes into fault and shuts down. By the time the next signal is recieved, the battery voltage has raised enough for the siren to sound untill the voltage drops.
This is just my thoughts on the issue.
ScottieNiven but the batteries have exploded before
cool explanation
if you keep these whelens kept up correctly, they'll last forever.
Looks like at a certain frequency it short circuits which what that popping noise probably is when it cuts off
Probably a low short since you can hear some of it still going off
Or maybe a wiring issue And the power just isn't enough for the science to run completely or the wires are chewed up from mouses Incense power through and then cuts off
It sends*
@@kellysouders4577its the battery.
Siren battery may need to be replaced
if thats on an old thunderbolt pole i can understand why it might be broken
i think since its on a thunderbolt pole it sometimes accidently sounds a thunderbolt sounding tone and it has to restart because it doesnt sound right (maybe) thats why i think it cuts off
What? That makes no sense. Electromechanical and electronic sirens have nothing in common. How would a POLE, made from WOOD affect the ELECTRONIC siren?!
He’s just confused , give him time.
Do ANY of the Georgia Whelens work properly?! GEES!
Yes, they do. All sirens, regardless of the brand, have their hiccups at times. I think the reason the ones around here fail is maybe from something like old batteries or dead chargers. Whelen makes a darn good and reliable siren, but like any siren you have to take care of it for it to take care of you.
DJ2226 I have this Tornado Siren
A siren malfunctioned near me in Wichita Falls Texas on October 2019
@@DJ2226I think it could be misread DTMF codes or the wireless signal being too weak
0:30 voice activation
I Thought These Sirens Run By Electricity.
wow thats the stupidest comment I have read today.
@@huskerman8850 I'm no einstein, but I'm pretty sure he meant powerered via electric cables, not battery
Some do but they have batteries as backup(late reply)
Maybe some of them do and maybe some of them run on batteries But also what type of battery has the power to power a siren A SIREN📢
Maybe a car battery me
This is the reason why I don’t like whelens
Hey Whalen go home your,er drunk..
