Great White was such a huge part of my youth in the 80’s..another great one gone too soon. ❤
@@RobertHunley-u5qnot soon enough RIP Jack Russell like the dog. Great cover band. RIP Rhode Island.
@@lenaaustin6692 No One will ever forget the 2003 Nightclub Fire Tragedy that killed 100 People.
😢😢💔💙
Yes!
@lenaaustin6692 not soon enough? Those some big words to say, wishing, death on another person. 😢 that's sad. Don't blame the band for that night, blame the owners of the station for having that flammable crap on the walls. Me and a friend were there. We were towards the entrance of the station. We got out thankfully, but still a tragic night. But, DON'T EVER, wish death on another person, KARMA HAS NO DEADLINE.
Literally the best led zeppelin tribute album Jack's vocals were perfect throughout
I drive by the Station fire site almost daily in West Warwick RI.
It sucks that it will be part of his legacy.
Hopefully he’s at peace.🤘🥃
Only to the idiots who make it a part of his legacy, to the rest of us his legacy will be how good of a vocalist he was, even up until the day he retired.
@@trendmassacre8423 Exactly. The building and the code enforcers were at fault as they looked the other way to a place that was a torch waiting to happen. The band knew nothing about this.
@@trendmassacre8423
You should have been there.
Perhaps your family would praise Jack?
Probably not.👍
@@muffs55mercury61
You should have been there too.👍
@@trendmassacre8423 thank you 🤙🏻couldn’t said it better. Jacks passing has bothered me quite a bit. The psycho city album got me through some really tough times.
I’m sick and tired of idiots posting about that night !!
I will never forget when Great White opened for Judas Priest , the song "stick it" was the hit that kicked it off. RIP Jack.
I saw opening night of the tour in Niagara Falls R.I.P. Jack 🤘🏻
@pdxpete48 My favorite song . (3:35) Jack Russell at his best ! RIP Brother .
God bless Jack.
Thank you for the rock and blues.
First band I ever saw in concert. Opening for whitesnake on 1987. Made a huge impression on me. Jack knew how to rock. The rock and roll world lost an underrated legend. May you rest in peace Jack.
One of my favorite vocalists of all time. So sad. His music and vocals will always live on.
❤❤❤❤
Yeah top 5 of hair rock singer There cover of " Babe Im going to leave you' was as good as Zepplins version and that I can't say that about any other singer! Rhode Island was a tragedy R.I.P. to those folks and Jack awful young to die of terrible Disease
I'm 56 and the summer of 1987 was the best in high school. I was playing in my first band, the music was great, girls wore mini skirts, a case of Budweiser was $10 out the door, you had to have a hookup to buy weed and cruising in my 72' Chevelle with a full cooler was unforgettable....well a few forgettable nights!
One Friday night before band practice my drummer and I stopped by my parents while he waited in the car. I came back and he said "Dude! You just missed a great new tune by Great White." We had practice and after the band cruised with the radio on and Rock Me came on. Other than the drummer we all heard it for the first time and partied all night long!
I was born that year, but reading your story made me feel all good inside to how life was back then 🥰🥰🥰
@@Alexandria87 Seems like a lifetime ago compared to the craziness of today.
Deepest condolences to the family and band. You were awesome. I just saw Great White a few weeks ago at my county fair in Cali. Not Jack Russell, but it was fun. I saw Jack with them years ago. R.I.P.
Jack Russell
You will be greatly missed! ❤❤😢
So sad. My father in law passed from dementia! RIP Jack! Your music will Always be amazing!
Sorry buddy
One of my all time favorite singers. “I don’t want to face the day” was always the first song that pops in my head when I think of Great White.
Love that song. It helped me remember I wasn’t the only one with depression.
(In case you weren't aware?) That was actually a cover of an Australian band "The Angels" (from 1980)
The first Great White song I heard.
That is a dandy, can relate to it for sure
Great White was & is a big part of me getting into Rock .. Sad sad early demise. What a vocalist! His Russell & Guns collab with Tracii Guns was on my play list till few days back. R.I.P. Jack Russell 🎉
This hurts my heart. Phenomenal singer. I love Great White , incredible songs. They belong in the hall of fame.
Greg Kihn just passed and now Jack Russell a double blow in less than a few days, it sucks watching all these legends pass year after year.
NOOOO!! It can’t be. I love Great White!! I saw them in concert back in the 80’s with Tesla opening up for them. It was a GREAT concert. I even still have my concert shirt. I am very sad to hear this news. Rest In Peace Jack……..❤😢
I’m thankful for his music and grateful I was able to meet him in 1988. He was very cool! God bless.🙏🏼
You will live on from the gift you gave the world... Your music. R.I.P.
An amazing singer and performer. His music will always live on. His music has so many wonderful memories in my life. God bless.
R.i.p jack russel i remember "save your love" was one of my favorite song's as a kid and one of my earlier memories of music(still in my playlist today)thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends ❤
I don’t know where I have been but I just found this out. He was my favorite singer and Great white was my favorite band. R.I.P.
Jack was one of the great voices of the 80's. One of the best music eras in history in my opinion. Gone too soon for sure RIP Jack!
Sad story for sure. I wonder if the tragedy of The Station fire gig ate at him. What a crazy world.
Great White was one of my favourites in the late 80s and early 90s… When „Hooked“ was out, I heard it 24/7…
Only the good die young! RIP Jack
All of our rockers are getting older, retiring, and/or passing away. So very sad. Wish I could turn back time. Prayers to the family.😢❤❤
I bought the Out Of The Night EP on vinyl when I was 13 years old and was a fan for life. Great White was a blues based hard rock band that got labeled hair metal. Jack's voice was clean and powerful and he WAS Great White! R.I.P. Jack and thanks for the good times.Sail Away.......
Rock' on! R.I.P "Once bitten, twice shy"
OMG! I am in total shock! I can't believe this! I am absolutely devastated! First concert I ever went to, great white and tesla 1989! I can't believe this! My heart is broken! I am truly shocked! RIP JACK! you were one of my favorites!
Jack, no! So sad. I saw them in concert back in the day...too soon 😢❤🌹
Thank You Jack for your passion of rock and belting out those vocals!
Save Your Love, Rock Me, She Only, Lady Red Light, Heartbreaker and Call it Rock n Roll.
Rest in Peace!🤘🏼🎤🎵🦈
Jack will still be ROCKIN In The After Life!…Ya can’t keep a GREAT singer down……
We have Lost So Many !! Thanks for The News,You Rock 🖤🙏
He had a great voice and always felt Great White was really overlooked. They did some really great takes on Zeppelin classics. May he Rest in Peace . One bitten twice Shy! Crank it man!
You will be missed my friend, God bless you . ❤❤❤❤❤
I was 22 and driving a Semi when their first album came out. Lots of miles and memories driving over the road listening to both of their albums. RIP Jack Russel.
Rest in peace jack thanks for the memories
No mention of The Station fire. RIP to the 99 fans who died that night.
This video is announcing the death of Jack Russell, not a history of everything he went through in life. Jack spent the rest of his life tormented over The Station fire. Try to have some respect.
Just last night I was singing along to my favorite song of his, "Save Your Love", and just hours later I learn he's gone. An unfortunate coincidence. RIP Jack Russell.
Such a great song
Damn, I remember watching Great Whites unplugged version of Babe I'm gonna Leave You back in the day and being blown away! R.I.P. Mr. Russell, you are one of the best.
RIP Jack Russell- the king of cool.
The best vocalist ever! Party on!
How did I never heard of great white and Jack Russell?
Got meet him at a Seattle bar.. super cool.. damn been a lot leaving us lately
I saw Great White on a double bill. They opened up for Aerosmith, I think. Great White was AWESOME live. I was saddened as I came across this video. RIP Jack, you will be missed. ❤❤❤
Sad. One of the greatest voices and a sweet guy
Seen them in 91 at 17 years old, it was a great show I still remember that day now 33 years later.
His voice on Rock Me is brilliant, RIP Jack, thank you for the music that you gave us, it'll live on in this rocker's heart forever.
R.I.P. At least his voice will be sounding throughout time.
Rest in peace to one of the best voices in music, so glad I got to see him perform a few years back
He's been struggling with his health for a while, so I am grateful that he's no longer suffering. It's still saddening to lose one of the greatest rock voices of the 1980s, and I can't help but to wonder what the f--k is going on with dementia seemingly becoming a common issue now when it used to be so rare.
You can probably look to the medical community and the food industry for it.
WOW 😢 THEY WERE ONE OF MY FAVORITE GROUPS WOW HE HAD A BEAUTIFUL VOICE.
RIP JACK 😢GOD BLESS YOU JACK 🙏 ❤️ 💙
Sad news.. what a great singer. Rest in peace Jack.
Such an incredible and unique singer!!!!!! Love Great White!!!!!! Jack, you will be missed!!!! RIP brother.................
So sad to hear this. Great White were part of my youth. ❤
I saw Great White in concert.. They were amazing!!! Jack Russell was an amazing and talented front man. I Love his voice!!! Still do... 💔💔💔❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹😢😢😢
Saw Great White opening for Alice Cooper back in late '89. I wasn't jazzed on seeing Great White as all I knew of them was the vastly overplayed "Once Bitten Twice Shy" from the year before. But seeing them live completely changed my mind. "House of Broken Love" was SO damn good live.
I had the most awesome experiences seeing Great White twice in my hometown in '89 being the first. Jack sizzled,, and the band was a thrill. RIP, Jack...
Damn I saw him last October and he sounded amazing but you could see he was hurting. RIP Jack
Åh This is so sad rest in peace i just lovede This band 💞💞💞💕🙏🙏🙏🥀🥀🥀🥀
One of the greatest vocalists in Rock N' Roll! A big part of my childhood is gone. R.I.P. Jack Russell, you will be sorely missed 😢
New Jack before he got famous. We all grew up in Whittier late '70s early '80s. I used to practice over there at Dan Bush's garage in Whittier. Not too many people know that. Rest in peace brother
Really sad . The first concert I ever got to see was great white opening for white snake . I still have the shirt from that tour .
Ultimately one the best bands going .
My deepest sympathies to your family
RIP Jack Russell
RIP, Jack. You will be missed by all.
I live in Rhode island where the fire happened. it was a very sad day. my dad actually put up the memory area where the station night club fire was
I got to see you a few times. I also got to build your stage a few times R.I.P Jack
Rest in peace Jack Russell. Your voice was beautiful and will live on forever! 💯
RIP Jack, really great vocalist ..... always in my heart
I like your shirt Brian
How sad. RIP. Fortunate to see him perform along with some other old school bands 6 to 8 years ago
Real good singer.. good band.
Once Bitten is such a great album. A true just push play record. Prayers to his family.
Great white is seriously one of my favorite bands 🤘I have them as one of my 20 alerts on my xmradio 💙
Wish they made more music ,, Rest In peace jack ,,, ❤️rock me ❤️
Rip jack russel. House of Broken Love is the GOAT
RIP Jack! Rock on wherever you are bro!
I saw them twice in concert, unbelievable Singer. RIP they were so much better than Twice Shy.
Rock singers come and go. They flame fast then fade away. But some still carry their special torch for decades and there after. Morrison of the Doors, Lennon of The Beatles, and many more gifted singers. Brother Jack will carry Great White well into the future. Legacy is not an understatement. Into the halls of Rock Karmin...forever rockin' on!
And sometimes they flame an entire nightclub.
@@boataxe4605 That wasn't Great White's fault.
@@JulieFuraitar Well,it was a shit storm, and many people contributed, the club’s owners who went cheap by installing flammable soundproofing instead of the flame resistant stuff, the fire marshal who passed the place despite the fact that it didn’t have a sprinkler system which was required by code, and the bouncer who wouldn’t let people out of the stage door. But Jack Russel claimed that he was given permission to use the pyrotechnics, while the owners of several nightclubs that they played on that tour said that they had used them without permission in their clubs (including the owner of the famous Stone Pony)
RIP Jack. There is only ONE Great White...and it's the Great White with Jack.
I wouldn’t wish dementia on my worst enemy. I hate seeing people go through it. Life is a cruel joke
Oh no. I saw him in Phoenix in 2017. To be honest, he looked like he was knock, kock, knocking on heaven's door even back then. RIP
I saw Great White open for Judas Priest in 1984, here in CT., I think it was the Hartford civic center, but it could have been the New Haven Coliseum, both long gone. I was 16 at the time, a great era for metal concerts.
In this world, all that you have you must surrender as you become old. Good times good tunes. RIP ✌🏿
This is so sad😢 RIP Jack❤
This sucks...Great White had a lot of kick ass songs R.I.P. Jack Russell
R.I.P.❤🎤
This is a sad sad night RIP Jack Russell 😢
One in a million. Gone too soon. RIP ❤
R I P Jack 😢
One thing about Great White they transcended the genre.
Well, rest easy Jack.
💔🎸💔🎸💔🎸💔🎸💔🎸💔🎸💔🎸💔Sad hearing about God's traveling on to another universe. RIP Jack!!🙏
On July 17, 2024, Russell announced that he was retiring from touring and disclosed that he had Lewy body dementia.
Russell died less than a month after the announcement, on August 15, 2024, at the age of 63 at a family member's home in Southern California, from complications of LBD and muscular system atrophy.
It was his time to travel.......
But at least Jack left us a gift
In January 2024, Russell released a collaboration album with L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns, titled Medusa. This was Russell's final studio recording before his retirement and sudden traveling on to another universe.
See ya soon brother..... hopefully in a few decades.
rest in peace
RIP
Sad news, I don't want to face the day.
My,my my ( once bitten, twice shy) 😢
R.I.P Jack
Rip Jack Russell.
Wow I’m so sad
R.I.P.
Saw them in Jax as an opening act when Rock Me was new . For some reason they refused to play it and got booed off the stage. Never heard what that was about.
So sad😢
