I had to google Cassava, it be made into flour, or cooked, but is poisonous if eaten raw. You got a great crop when you dug it up. Fascinating upload my friend💯👍4
Yeees we were very excited to see the size after ignoring it for many months. Cassava flour is becoming more popular here, but I prefer to eat it fried. It is a good crop, that withstands the dry season. Thank you for your lovely compliment, the pleasure is all mine.😊🙏👍
Wow, the wonders of nature! I have seen cassava in ontario grocery stores. Very interesting video. Berina and Ken, so happy with that monster root. Brilliant! So rewarding when food we grow works and provides for us. Love your artwork!
Thank you so much for being here Greta. It is quite amazing how the soil can produce wonderful food just on its own. It made us realize how wrong we were about the cassava. I have planted more and hope to post the growing process. I watched your bounty harvest video. I must pull up my gardening socks. That was beautiful. I wish you well and happy gardening.🙏🙏❤
Wonderfull harvest Ken looked so proud when he got that big root out. The soil looks lovely condition. Home grown and fresh brings out the best in all vegetables. 👍
Yes. Ken was happy. 😂😂😂 The soil must have been good otherwise we would not have got that size of cassava. I think because of the unwanted plants and grass I disposed of there. Yes naturally grown is the best. I appreciate you being here. Thank you so much.🥰
I loved the roasted cassava when I bought it at the road side, but the boiled one, not really. Now that I can prepare it myself, I fry it and it is very delicious. Thank you for being here Koi. I appreciate it.😊🙏👍
Wow, that was one huge cassava. I'm like Bongiboi Music, I have heard of it, but didn't really know what it was or how it was cooked. Learn something new every day. Nice video, Professor.
I also did not know that there are people who took cassava seriously, I thought it just grew wildly, but after research, now I know. I planted some the other day. It is really good and has a fine taste. Thank you so much for watching. 🙏🙏
Super interesting video, Berina! Love how hard and skillfully Ken worked and how happy he was with the results. ❤ Glad it turned out to be delicious! I've wanted to grow cassava (to make flour from it) for many years. Cassava flour is an excellent (some would say perfect) alternative to wheat flour - gluten-free, but not gritty or sandy like other gluten-free flours. I'm in a good climate to grow this, and I like how low-maintenance it is to grow - but oh, my, the work to extract it definitely would be too much for me! 😮😬 Thank you for saving me from that experiment! 😂😂🤣 Loved seeing some of your art, the pretty orange kitty, and your cooking fire. Excellent video! Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
We needed a lot of patience when harvesting this. I almost had the feeling it was revenging against us for undermining and neglecting it. The results were rewarding, we discovered it was good quality, I planted more the other day. You may plant the cassava, it needs very minimum care and if the soil is right, well draining, it will be easier to pull. Someone advised us in the comment to pour water on it in the evening so that the ground may be soft in the morning and so easier to pull. 😄😄😄I encourage you to plant, hope to see you harvest one day. I am so happy you liked the video and glad to see you here always. Thank you very much. 🥰🥰
@@berinanaturethirst It's always fun when something surprises us with how good it is. Happy to hear you've planted more. Soaking the ground with water ahead of time does sound like a wise idea. ☺️
I knew about cassava, but I did not like it, until I cooked it and fried it. It has a unique, fine taste and I learnt that it is nutritious. It is also very easy to prepare and takes a short time to cook. It was a great surprise! It is becoming more and more popular here. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.☺👍🙏
Now I want to learn more about cassava and the many recipes. I appreciate how you take serious the cultivation of the root. Working the land is so rewarding and is one of the few things I miss about living a more traditional lifestyle. We hope someday to have and experience and try cassava root. 😊🚚
I make sure to go out for a while when I take a break from making the videos. One of the best activities is to dig and light firewood. Digging especially, is so relaxing and watching the plants grow is more exciting. Dreams and wishes come true, you travel a lot one day you might find a friend who does this. Cassava can be cooked in several ways and they are all tasty. Thank you for being here. 🙏👍😊
"We found Big Cassava - Nature's surprise in the soil! 🌱🌍 Unearthing this giant cassava is a testament to the fertile land and the wonders it can yield. Mother Nature has a way of reminding us of her abundance, and this remarkable find is proof of the richness of the earth. Celebrate the beauty of agriculture and the joy of discovering nature's unexpected treasures. A big cassava, a bigger connection to the earth's bounty! 🌾👏
This is true, the soil is very rewarding, we appreciate the produce we get from it. Mother nature has been very fair to us and I have always told Ken that our soil is blessed, because our harvest is always good. We cannot express enough our joy when we unearthed the cassava. Thank you for your wonderful words and thank you for being here. 🙏🙌

Huge find🎉 but the extraction part lol, 😢
Ooooh. I agree with you there, it was mutilated. 😆😆😆Thank you for watching.
@@berinanaturethirst don't mention it, some people wet the area over night and get 2-3 people to pull, but its necessary to dig up the top soil abit
Ahaaaa. You know I wondered how they pulled it out of the ground so easily. 😮😮
