What do you guys do with all the food you grow? Is it just for you two, or do you sell it/give away?
Hi guys, can you please help me understand something with the BTE method that I’m super confused about? I’ve done my potato patch this year with the compost then wood chip mulch but I’m confused about what to do after your veg has finished growing. For example, when my potatoes finish I’ll be planting Florence fennel next. But when it comes to next year am I supposed to add more compost and if so how do you do that? Do I have to take off all the wood chips, put new compost then put the chips back on top? The chips I used this year were pretty much fresh, I know they should be at least a season old but that’s all I had, it doesn’t seem to have had any adverse affects though as my taters were first planted into a deep compost mulch before the chips were added. Anyway, as such the chips are not even close to being rotted down so I assume I can’t bury them under another layer of compost then more chips - my bed would be taller than me 🤣
hey jowdee, great question … and I good one to be clear on too …. I’ll try and answers you question fully as some as I get a mo (just about to do our garlic harvest right now) … but in shorts, you might find that this video ( ua-cam.com/video/Ksfd2BKeTu4/v-deo.html ) here explains to you how we resow/plant our beds when the woodchip hasn’t fully rotted. let me know and if not I’ll try and explain better, we’ve also made another vid again about using woodchip, that you might find useful too you shod be able to find it on our channel page … it was just after the link above if I recall ✌️🌿
@@freedomforestlife thanks guys, I’ll check the videos out and get back to you if o have further questions! Xx
