jeff bauer how is your camaro now, long term update any reliability issues or problems like electronics? I’m thinking about getting one as well I agree not bad for the money gm has gone a long way with the v6 performance wise
You know what I love about MW they show the car the full time. Today so many people are trying to be the star of the video so you have to look at them more than the products.
+cadsux Congratulations! You should have no regrets. I'm a fan of both cars. I think both are awesome. Design wise I can't decide which is better. Only performance wise the Camaro seems slightly better, but I can assure you that 0.2 of a second to 60 doesn't make a difference in the real world. Have a great time in your Mustang! That's all that matters.
+cadsux new vs new price is almost the same. Just wait couple of years. Although this is the sporty option, I am still undecided which one I want to actually own.(Mustang is more practical and tuning parts are cheap)
I have been watching you since the 1990 toronado trofeo. I am so glad you are still doing motorweek. I know you are the best. and I look for you to help me choose what car to buy. Thanks for 20 plus years of car talk
I think V6 muscle cars deserve more recognition. In the early days, most of these muscle cars had pitiful inline-6 engines from standard (not like folk generally bothered since the more powerful ones remained cheap), but today even the V6 versions are fast enough for most people.
@5:12 the engine noise sneaking into the cabin is intentional by design. On the v6 engine there are tubes that run from the engine directly to the firewall so that the sound is augmented closer to the cabin. And for the I4 turbo LTG engine the sound of the engine is ‘enhanced’ when you also add the technology pkg w/Bose 9 spkr, where the sound is coming from the stereo in sport mode. In tour mode the sound is disabled.
+Mize Z I tend to agree. I like the new Camaro, but it's styling isn't quite a home run like the new Mustang is. The performance though? Killer. +scott9050 He does not.
Used to sell the Gen 5's. Not a bad car if you can get by the poor visibility and blind spots. Used to sell Mustangs till 2013 too. Haven't driven either of these new bodies, but from what I hear they are both fantastic pony cars.
I've always been a mustang guy, but this car might change that. It looks really good in my opinion, better than the current gen Mustang. Looks Like I got a new dream car.
@black ice 2018 Camaro 1LT. HOT Red. It's got 36k Miles on it. RS package. I plan to Get Black Rims once I have the $$$. Then possible get the RD Spoiler replaced with a black one. Then a Black Splitter
@Alexx nice. Are you getting the 16-18 blk 5 spoke wheels ir the current '19+ blk spiral 20" wheels? Cuz imho, those fit the camaro best. But it's your car. The graphics front splitter with the small blk spoiler? I can see the finished result
USA production, great! The front quarter plastic seam is too high, very noticeable on light colors, silver, white & yellow. A+ on lowering the black plastic on the rear.
Camaro SS starting just under 38k. Mustang GT starting just a little over 33k. Yes you get a lot more in the base SS than the base GT, but at least Ford gives the option to the buyer for an old school barebones V8 car or the one with all the neat-o gadgets and leather (though what comes base in a car these days is pretty damn nice if you ask me). If Ford didn't have a 33k GT, I would not have been able to afford a V8 Mustang and just wouldn't have bought one. I think GM would be smart to offer a less-optioned SS for around the 34k mark, even if they are only available special order, they won't price out folks who are kind of on the fringe money wise, but won't own a Camaro with anything less than a V8.
After Canada helped to bail out the nearly bankrupt GM, they take the production of the Camaro out of Canada. According to MotorWeek, that's where it belongs. Well thanks a lot GM...and to MotorWeek I say...We make great cars in Canada!
+Blake Swan Bought a 2016 SS a month ago. Styling is subjective, so can't argue that (though it looks awfully good to me in person) but you're right about the outward visibility. It's definitely not an easy car to see out of. But, they do now have blind spot monitoring, which I stake my life on (I'm hoping it's always accurate because there's very little ability to check it visibly... lol) and have also added oncoming car side monitoring to the rearview camera, so you get an alert if a car is coming and it tells you what side it's coming from. Overall, it's been a fun, good car, purpose-built.
NightcruiserMA i meani guess the take away if you guys are fine driving off an lcd monitor. I prefer to be able to see with my eyes. to each their own but i can play video games at home
+rhino250r mustangs looks like a fusion, its cool looking but not aggresive enough,, motor is a 5.0 wich is not very reliable at all, older 4.6 were lot better, 5.0 has 415hp and ss has 455, camaro engine is lighter and lower mass wich is far better for drivability and fuel economy, camaro engine have lot more meat on the bones so more room for more power adders, except the price ford have lot to do to keep up
+Michael Harris -- All vehicles have smaller, gunslit windows today because of the crash test changes that were made in the early 1990s. Rollover protection standards that did not previously exist mean that a roof must support four-to-five times the weight of the vehicle. That bulking up increased the weight of the vehicles, ruining fuel economy, and causing the need to move to multi-link rear suspension to handle the heft. Ultimately, the poor outward visibility means that you must now have exterior cameras everywhere as well. And the French flag is the reverse order left-to-right... BLUE-WHITE-RED. The Camaro emblem has an All-American arrangement, as... RED-WHITE-BLUE.
+sahiel5 The SS is more than the GT, but comes with more standard features and outperforms it by a decent margin. You'd have to step up the near un-attainable GT350 to get a faster Mustang.
Adam S well it beter be faster since its more expensive but im not shure its worth so much more, especialy if u consider its baisicly 2 seater that u cant see out of... standard equipment is the same - dont even try to bullshiet or justify gm usual and unexplaineble price difrance

If you step up to a GT Premium which has essentially the same features, then you end up at essentially the same price (minus the performance). As seen in this comparison the GT actually cost a lot more than the SS. www.motortrend.com/news/2016-chevrolet-camaro-ss-vs-2016-ford-mustang-gt/

looks like a great drive... but hell is that thing ugly! Those hard edges don't flow and the sunken headlights make the front of the car look like it has a window sill or something.
Give it a couple of months and you'll learn to like it. I've found this with almost all new cars that come out now, don't like them at first, but I learn to appreciate thier looks.
In my opinion, this is actually one of the smoothest riding cars I've ever driven. While the braking and gas pedals are smooth, they both can make the car kick like a mule when you use a little extra pressure on them (i.e, trying to merge in on the highway). The engine looks ugly, even to work on, so it probably will not be an easy fix. The manual transmission is smooth however, had no problems changing gears. The only thing that makes me debate about buying it, is visibility, it's near awful. However, the large side mirrors and universal adjustable seats may make up for that, if adjusted correctly.* Personally, I'd give this car an 8.5/10.
Uh, the 4 does 0-60 in 5.4 secs. That's faster than nearly all 4th gen Camaros, Z/28 and SS. It's nearly as fast as the 5th and 6th gen V6. Couple that with much lighter weight and great gas mileage and it's highly appealing. Plus Turbos are fun. Do your research.
I have a 2012 camaro ss I'm a camaro fan boy but if I had to choose between the 2016 Camaro 2016 Mustang or 2016 Challenger I would have to go with the Challenger because in my opinion both the new Mustang and the new Camaro are ugly as fuck the challenger still has that mean aggressive look to it and the Camaro and Mustang just look ugly they both lost that aggressive look that's my opinion

Easily the best-looking Camaro.
The turbo 4cyl is a pretty cool trim level. Can't wait to see those boosted crazy!
lexus toyota car designed styles japan made
Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge choose what you like I'm just happy that's it's fast, fun American performance
The camaro is like Honda’s in my area you see one everywhere .
Actually you see mustangs more since they’ve sold more
Here in the NY Metro burbs the Challenger is far and away the most common of the three.
I think V6 muscle cars deserve more recognition. In the early days, most of these muscle cars had pitiful inline-6 engines from standard (not like folk generally bothered since the more powerful ones remained cheap), but today even the V6 versions are fast enough for most people.
GO USA!!! I love the CAmaro....
You may have not been able to grab performance numbers from an SS, but there's no reason to not have benchmarked the car you did have. SS or not.
