I wanna try this out also. This is awesome it shows you what route your pigeons like to travel and familiarize themselves with most. Therefore you can try to make adjustments and train your pigeons to fly in a straighter line and reducing the time to get home. 👍
Very interesting shaun we could learn so much using gps on our pigeons!! Keep up the good work!! Am still thinking of buying the system to see what's going on with my birds,, regards kingzie
Thanks Kingzie! Just the fun factor alone has been worth getting these rings but I am surprised how much I'm learning from the results. I can't wait to see your results.
AlohaPigeons am looking to use the system on a very long distance race, that we always get poor returns to see what's going on,,as we have no idea but the gps could give us a insight in to the problems we face!! The distance is over 500miles, regards kingzie
I just started racing pigeons last year and I've learned a lot from watching your videos. Your birds seem to always be on great condition. I noticed your nest bowls are made out of paper? are those DIY? Goodluck and more power mate.
Do u know the id of the bird dat went over de water and de airport on de first test. Would take dat one straight to de stock or see if it does it again on another test. Good bird dat seeing that the others all go around the water.
That was interesting and yes I know which bird that was and I did breed from him this year. I will use the gps band more in the future to get a better understanding of where they like to fly. Thank you! Aloha, Sean
How far could your pigeons actually fly? How long does the battery last? Can I find gps coordinates with this? If a bird went down somewhere, could I locate him... gps/phone map???
Just the 1st and 2nd Maui race this past season but no gps tracking during the race. I think this season will be a better gauge of how the birds can really perform because I should do a better job getting them ready. At least I hope so.
Hey Sean. Now thats very, very interesting. Something even us oldtimers never knew. I suspected that my birds would follow a tree line thats next to where i live. Its where the military have war games and practices military exercises. But its a mystery to me as to why your bird did this. Have you thought about using the 5 rings on the same 5 birds and then only releasing those 5 for a loft flight and see if its a fluke or confirms what happened in this vid? I shall consult with my inner nerd and think about this. This gps system is looking more and more valuable to have.
Kingzie mac yep! We can still kick a little ass when we need to though right? Can you imagine what we could have done with this gps back then? Combining this with our experience make the possibility of us being untouchable in races very high. Its rare when us oldtimers learn something new about pigeons, right?
Howzit! Wow, where the bird flew during the loft flight just makes you think "hhmmmm." Like you, I would think it would fly around close to home. I must admit that the GPS is a good thing to have. I have just one question. Was the bird flying alone or with the flock?
Hi Gary, so today he came back with 2 of the other birds in my loft so I think it was just the 3 of them that took this route. The results did take me by surprise so I had to share it with everyone. Aloha!

Great. Greetings from Sunny South Africa.
Sean, I think if you send off for training all the time, that they will become better at taking the shortest distance from release point to home?
I'm really surprised they went around the Airport.
Is it possible to get information about altitude of the flight?
Do u worry about the pigeons interfering with planes as they come over the airport
