Normal life thrown out of gear as Delhi inundated in flash flood following heavy rainfall

After prolonged excruciating heatwaves, Delhi & Delhi NCR received incessant rainfall in the wee hours of June 28. However, the respite turned into tension as normal life was thrown out of gear shortly after the downpour. Roads across the national capital have been inundated in water as Delhi lacks a smooth drainage system. From small cars to large trucks, visuals from different parts show how vehicles have sunk in water disrupting transit. Several people were also trapped in inundated bus who were evacuated by rescue squad later. The helpless people were seen wading through knee-deep water to reach their workplaces and destinations. The heavy rain also claimed a life and injured 6 as a portion of canopy at IGI airport collapsed following downpour. The incident caused temporary suspension of flights from terminal causing inconvenience to passengers.
