I am so loving this Jamaican woman who is so proud of her roots regardless of where she is and what she has done and where she is going. Let us all emulate her and continue to left our beautiful Island, Jamaica, the Land of Wood and Water
Sherelee has always been giving back to Jamaica in many ways. I remember her talking to us when I was in high school and making is realize that we can achieve anything. Thank you Sherelee! You are always an inspiration
This is just a phenomenal 🇯🇲n woman show casing our culture and what is in our DNA from our ancestors. Jamaican are all over the world they are major contributors to society and trendsetter, trailblazer. Thank you Miss Sheryl Lee Ralph, for really showing off your Jamaican blueprint. You incorporate your beginning in your career, and I respect that. We are proud of you. I wish others would emulate you and make this world a better place. Old time Jamaica is truly missed, our children are in trouble. Jamaica is in trouble, only Jesus can intervene, too much crime. Help us Lord
Sheryl Lee Ralph she’s a true Jamaican. I love that woman she loves jamaica she big up jamaica everywhere she go. I just love her she’s a jamaican queen love her.
Miss Sheryl L.R. is a force of nature. You can feel her honesty in every single word. This woman is smart, educated and independent graceful. Follow her ideas and thoughts, it maight teach you some important life lessons. ❤
Black Queen! I'm Black American but I love Jamaica! I hope that the problems can be resolved and Jamaica can prosper! Jamaica is a special place and it hurts to see that these problems have come to affect the island.
I met her very recently and it was a great honour. And believe me people, she was just the same way you are looking at now. Very down to earth! ...she is a very wonderful lady!...and very beautiful!
Very sobering, and true. A friend of mine came up from Jamaica about 5 years ago to accept a Teaching position in Dallas. He was a teacher in JA and said how he had been living from hand to mouth, could not meet his obligations, all this while Teaching full time in Jamaica....He didn't want to leave but for him it was survival. He's a smart guy while Teaching he's earning his pharmacology degree....unfortunately it is very likely that those qualifications skills and experience will not be put to use in Jamaica, which is a crying shame.
He went to Colorado he got into a Pharmaceutical program there@@Dallas3212. If you don't have family in Dallas and need a good home cooked Jamaican meal from time to time let me know.
Love you Sheryl Lee Ralph ❤️❤️ I'm very concerned about the healthcare system in Jamaica. I pray every day that more Jamaicans at home and abroad will get together, and do whatever we can to improve the hospitals.
Powerful speech Ms. Ralph I don't know what's happening to our children and their education teachers are running from Jamaica like butter against sun, we have to do something about it please my fellow Jamaican we have to step up unity is strength.
You should go to Europe. America is a mess. Andthe teachers know usa curriculum is the problem. Plus teachers in the USA don't get paid for vacations. They have to find a second job. Utter madness.
Well, like many other celebrities she said all the right things I hope she is putting her money where her mouth is. There are a lot of bright poor children in Jamaica who just cannot excel , no food, clothes or not even a proper place to rest there heads and the government doesn't give a damn. We are living in a sad selfish world!
The goverment is indeed part of the problem, but also women and men having kids with different people when they themselves are unable to take care of themselves only adds to the problem. One female having multiple kids with various men, while each of those same men are having kids with various women is a recipe for dysfunction and is a contributor to the crime problem. At some point, we are responsible for our poor decisions, especially when we fail to learn from the first, or even second bad decision.
Early Childhood Education spoken by a queen that understands our 4-5 years olds need the foundation. Our newborns to up to age 8 are critical to the success of the ECD sector.
My God what she said is straight facts. Crime is like a disease. There was a time in my life where I never thought that crime could find its way in to places like Mobay and Ochie and look now. Idle hands breed crime. 😢😢😢🥺
Blessings to you Sheryl in abundance. I feel so relieved hearing that coming from you, a lady of great influence but I hope the "deaf" is listening. Same sentiments that I've been sharing for a while now. Focus attention on the youths...that's where the intervention starts. Teachers, police, soldier leaving in droves to join the USA system and governments over the years haven"t done anything to stem the exodus. The goverment and those in the higher echelons of society doesn't care. They have the financial & relevant resources to "fly out" in the case something goes wrong. But wait, Haiti is right on our doorsteps and we might just get there if something isn't done urgently.
It’s about time the alarm goes off. I watched the value of education deteriorate in Jamaica 🇯🇲. We have come to a point where we promote dancehall over education. Jamaica forget the value of the most valuable and important thing to its society. We have a boxed economy where our children are so focused on money. It’s time for our leaders to stand up and start recognizing what’s more valuable to its citizens. Get stand up 🆙
Bc their teachers, Dr's and nurses are resigning also and either choosing different professions such as Social media or going to other countries where the curriculum no so strenuous. Jamaicans and other 3rd world see the money because it's new and they convert it. But after awhile if they stay there they two will become frustrated. Why can't teachers all over the world be paid good wages???
She is 💯💯💯✅✅✅✅I am so pissed to hear that sooooooo many teachers have left my beloved Jamaica. Tears to my eyes hearing this news. We MUST do better‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
She is so right. Criminals in the US are getting younger and younger and they keeping them in prison forever. Or those young men get out and go right back to crime even after earning a GED in prison because parent at home can’t do or doesn’t do anything to help her child move on to turn their life around.
That what i called myself 😂😂i am a jamamerican❤❤❤love you girl .despite where ever we rome Jamaica 🇯🇲 will always be our home our country has been brain drain this

Sherly mom leave jamaica for a better life, it was not 1980. It was before that to show people was leaving Jamaica for green pasture. Not since 2000, we need to pray and stop every negative impact we hear we joint it. It not help Jamaica.
Here we go! I have been saying we have a Jamaican disease! That man or woman that is looked down upon. Been there! Thank you, Sheryl! That is my sister's name spelled with a "C"
Everyone is migrating for Jamaica is this and that. We are not staying fighting to make a difference. Why are so many of our know how to fix Jamaica dont go in representational politics and make a difference. Let us all leave Jamaica. The land will propers without all of us.
One of the problems is also that the education system in jamaica seems to be aligning to the US system. And from my own experience. US education system is a joke. The children in America are tested at yr 3 and y7. Simply to find out how many prisons to build. Jamaicas problem is that the traditional education system was modeled around UK grammar schools and quite successfully too. Jamaican children are known to be articulate and also know what career they wish to pursue from an early age. Once the government disassembled the UK standardized Jamaican system and aligned themselves with the US, It went down the toilet. I'm so over fayval. She looks so disinterested in the welfare of our children on the island. I was educated in Jamaica and the UK. I'm glad I wasn't in America. All of these issues sit firmly at the feet of the JA government. They are wholly responsible. Ineptitude, nepotism, and racism are at the heart of it all.

TVH, please forward this interview to the Prime Minister and Education Minister Fayval Williams. They need to see this interview.
This is some hard-core truth
This was sooo good! She's so beautiful!
The only alarm I hear ringing, is the minister of education warning teachers about their legal obligations to give proper notice that are leaving.

Teachers should be getting the highest pay because you can't get no profession with out a teacher!!!!
That me always say too
Ikr bt they are not the most important rn!
It’s one thing to say teachers deserve more, but to say they deserve the highest pay is shallow reasoning. Go and reanalyze that statement.
