You know what's crazy. Is Illenium didn't learn the basics of music theory til some years ago. I think he talks about possibly Dabin teaching him. Can't remember what live stream he was talking about it on.
Yeah you don't need it, it's totally possible to 'press n guess' as I say. Certainly some of the best rave tracks I love are complete guesswork.
It helps to know when you fluke success though, so you can repeat it!

No of the root doesn't change that's just a different "voicing"
