I use the one on the right, I'm cheap :), you can increase the output on these, go into settings, I use a 170w, 36v panel, , and a 20amp cheap controller, my output is a 12v small fridge, led lights, and a small tv, summer time UK, it is ok, winter time, time to get the geny out, I got a 60amp lifepo4 batt, good vid and info :)

What do do for charging LI-ion battery with solar panel that has DC7909 output cable only when the MPPT controller has negative and positive terminals and in inverter?

Read the manual that came with your lithium battery, mine says to set the solar charge controller to b04 in the settings, I bought a solar blanket and the PWM controller that came with the blanket had that option of b04

Hi - i have a 100w 12v panel and a 30ah lifepo4 battery. Also got a 30a pvm charge controller with options for sealed (14.4v), gel (14.2) or flood (14.6). The float, discharge stop and discharge reconnect are adjustable and the charge reconnect is 13.2v. Question is… can i use this pvm controller? And if so what should i set it to and do i need to change the adjustable values. Hope u can help

I wouldn't use a PWM, because none of the cheap ones are sophisticated enough to be configured or trusted. The old school ones from 1994, like Plasmatronics and Morningstar are good, but they cost a bomb. Then on ebay, practically everything called MPPT is a fraudulent crappy PWM. You are left with Victron and Epever, and they both still have issues. They are highly configurable, but the Victron can have stability problems when finishing the charge, and the Epevers have bad slow software that can sometimes get the solar input voltage wrong. The Victron won't blow up, and has current limit if you want to be conservative. The Epevers come in 3 models, one of which is cheap and blows up. The Triron and the one that looks like solid aluminium works OK. But I have yet to work out if the Triron is easily configurable.

Reading through my lithium battery manual it says to set the solar charge controller to b04 and my crappy PWM has that function and charges my battery well
