The way axl had to fight for his life to get back on stage was hilarious and he wasnt late for his part. The band and the fans did great showing how to have a good time
Axel must’ve been thinking, This was a terrible decision. I think they’re trying to eat me. And not in a fun way. Security is thinking: Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit!
Best performance kit he is short at breath. Search for civil wars 1990 and the first video gives you an Axel sprinting over the stage and holding every long tone for ever while here he is unfortunately shortening some segments. But still their best performance.
i love Matt Sorum but Steve gives a rhythm and beat that totally make the difference, probably the best version of paraside city ever made, by the way how i miss Izzy.
Slc, o Axl marcou minha infância (era doidão), na verdade toda a banda marcou. Penso que se o Steven e o Izzy nunca tivessem saído a banda teria sido muito mais foda do que já foi.
a legendary concert and above all a good sound signed mtv. I read that the band was tired that night, that says it all. in fact we have very few good quality video testimonials from that time which is why the ritz is referenced. in fact the band sounded perfect in 1988. izzy said that when steven broke his arm he was temporarily replaced by a technically very good drummer but that strangely nothing worked without steven. that's what I think. steven axl slash izzy duff for ever gnr 88 🙏🙏🥀🥀🥀
I remember this concert being televised and I think I was waiting to hit the recordbutton on my parents VHS recorder for probably an hour in advance. Can't remember playing a VHS so many times as this one. Even managed to record the sound onto cassette and listening to this on my Walkman day after day after day... And when I read back, what I just wrote I can't imagine a comment that sounds more '80s than this one :-)
I saw this live on MTV i was a Junior in HS i had just driven up to Cortland U to visit my sister n dude she was datin put this "CASSETTE " (LMAO soooo old) in his Mazda tape deck n very first time i heart GnR. HOLY SHIT i thought ...Appetite For Destruction was to me the greatest debut album i had heard at that point in my life to anybody. I still have problems thinkin of who could pass them in ANY genre. Maybe LZ maybe Jay-Z come close but AFD was the GOAT to me of debuts EVERY freakin jam was an jnstant classic. It's So Easy n Rocket Queen grabbed me instantly then this. Even UYI 1n2 still great but this was peak. So then i saw this show on MTV solo in my crib. Like Stones said, GnR were rock stars before they were rock stars NOBODY got this reaction. And i know about Hanoi Rocks influence n no matter how big like Springsteen or so on ONLY Beatles n Stones got this reaction straight outta gate. And Elvis but not even LZ or Cheap Trick in Japan or Jimi in England. GnR was the shot heard round world lile Nirvana would be in few years. Music revolution hadnt been this big sjnce 60's. They lived it they paid their dues they were incredible. As long as they had money for Heroin n their instruments they made great money rockin at Whiskey A GoGo in LA n Ritz in NYC n food n shelter was given to them. This was beginning and already they were superstars. Incredible. Like The Police they broke at correct time. Izzy new they were as big as they needed to be and as rich so fast all was done.
La banda original, nada más..ustedes 5 son los dueños del rock..no hay imitación,ni reemplazo, solo ustedes 5..en el 88 estaban en su máxima expresión,era todo lo que estaba bien..gnr por siempre
This is so absolutely awesome. side note: probably not the smartest move to jump into the crowd mid song, hence the no shirt when returning to the stage.
When u REALLY think about it GnR ONLY needed 6 yrs (87-93) and 3 albums AFD n UYI 1 n 2 to leave a permanent mark on the world of everything. Rock , music , pop culture...etc...6 yrs n 3 albums n boom into the HoF. Thats F'ING CRAZY ..NO other band did that. Even Jimi n the Doors LZ Stones Beatles even i love them all plus Jay-Z, Springsteen so big those 2 ppl were Obamas only 2 ppl next to him n his wife before winnig reelection i love Cheap Trick HUGE in Japan in late 70s HUGE n Into HoF the American Beatles bc CT as a Pop band wrote the best pure Pop songs after Beatles they influenced Nirvana n such. Nirvana is only other band but they due to death and Hanoi Rocks without them no GnR HUGE influence...all this said to point out that WITHOUT a death n all members alive no other band has done wat GnR did. They changed the world n brought raw rock n roll back to a Stones type of level not posers but real thing. Just 6 years n 3 albums. Idc if u hate the Smiths or Morrissey or love them he belongs in HoF as well. If the criteria is 3 classic albums which is definitely needed Moz did 3 with Smiths AND 3 Solo n isnt in. And they completely bypass n ignore latin music such as Merengue n Salsa which was developed hear in NYC even if born elsewhere. Anyways again point blank GnR , again , with ALL members alive did it in 6 yrs n primarily 3 albums. Full studio works really was only 3. Incredible.
These Songs Took So Much Effort to Sing....Can Not Even Imagine How Drugged up This Band Was During Prime of Their Carrer....This is in My op 3 All Time Songs
Was here I didn't know who they were at the time friend had 2 tickets i knew them after the show slash was strung out and struggled at first someone threw a ballon on stage and he got right
Crazy to think this was 36 years ago, what a time to be alive. This concert was legendary
Crazy how he's getting back on stage singing in the right time
Steven Adler had a unique groove that cant be replicated
he is known for writing in the frequent implementation of the flam rudiment
The way axl had to fight for his life to get back on stage was hilarious and he wasnt late for his part. The band and the fans did great showing how to have a good time
Axel must’ve been thinking,
This was a terrible decision. I think they’re trying to eat me. And not in a fun way.
Security is thinking:
Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit!
5:43 Izzy cracking up at Axl after he gets back on stage and just starts dancing haha
No more rock and roll than this.. not in the history of this planet
I totally agree
thsi should be in the National Archives as the only needed depiction of "LIVE ROCK SHOW"
There hasn’t been a bigger band since…..
Absolutely❤🤘
Time flies so fast ..really fast
You’re just old
Pure energy... So powerful! The original band was unbelievable... Outstanding! Thanks for publishing this...
Man that energy gives me the chills
This was their best.....raw and raunchy....that's GNR.
On his back, off his face, but still manages to pull off that guitar solo.
What a great performance by the band that day. Perhaps the best of Paradise City. Axl
vocally and physically at the climax.🤟💯
Best performance kit he is short at breath. Search for civil wars 1990 and the first video gives you an Axel sprinting over the stage and holding every long tone for ever while here he is unfortunately shortening some segments. But still their best performance.
@@TheApp9He didn’t shorten anything. The only thing that is short is your dick.
i love Matt Sorum but Steve gives a rhythm and beat that totally make the difference, probably the best version of paraside city ever made, by the way how i miss Izzy.
Matt was good , a bit mechanic, Adler was sway, 50% of the band was on him
Axl rose one of the best front man and slash all time great! No one couldn’t h them at that time
Axl at his peak. Appetite is a very special album to me and this concert along with Paris 93 are GNR's masterpieces.
Slc, o Axl marcou minha infância (era doidão), na verdade toda a banda marcou. Penso que se o Steven e o Izzy nunca tivessem saído a banda teria sido muito mais foda do que já foi.
Anyone ever notice someone latched onto Slash's kok at 3:16, and then he walks away like his balls hurt? 🤣
SPEECHLESS… fucking legends!

I watched this on MTV that night. VHS recorded
Living legends. 👍🏻
The good old days

Pure rock and roll, unbelievable🙌
A well deserved mic drop!

Seeing Izzy smiling as they got AxL back on stage made this video… They were at their best and they were still brothers here. RnFR
Hey axle rose keep on rocking with Slash message from Ryan Schmitt from Saint Paul Mn.
Nice
I think Chuck D once said GNR isnt a band. They are a gang.

Well, Axl wax never really a big drug guy. But I agree, it's no wonder his voice is shot now.
2:22 Does anyone know why the guy tried to rush the stage, and who or what is he after? 😂😂😂
3:53 Captain America
Rockenf**kenroll
6:41 of Axl not having a fit like a toddler
Was here I didn't know who they were at the time friend had 2 tickets i knew them after the show slash was strung out and struggled at first someone threw a ballon on stage and he got right
well... RIP shirt
It most likely was in fact ripped.
HOW AXL GOT DRAGED OF STAGE
Pinche axl rose se salto el ultimo solo por tirarse jajaja
Why not upload it in the right aspect ratio????
When they were half decent
A qué te refieres
Never liked this version. Its too quick. Matt Sorum plays it at a slightly slower and better tempo
Agree to disagree. Adler provided the feel for those early albums and when he got fired a piece of the band was lost forever.
Sorum is trash, Adler was the only drummer for GnR.
This sucks!!..he sounded like Mickey mouse drowning.
Not once during this song did he sound like Mickey Mouse.....2024...different story.
Adler the best drummer gnr original
