@@Lady_Amelia-EloiseThey implemented it into the Seasonal Challenges. But it's only a one off per location. They removed the weekly "Flashpoint"... because people don't want to play patrol.... because they don't update them.
i couldnt agree more, the moment i heard them saying that destiny is an mmo and trying to combat ff14, i knew destiny was entering an identity crisis let alone the fact soon they are gonna diablofy the game
well no, at its core for both games it was ment to be a looter shooter, from the loot, the gunplay, the means to get said loot, it was a looter shooter and should have stayed in its lane
I still remember Destiny 2's year 1 dawning when every patrol destination had snowballs you could pick up and throw to slow down enemies way before stasis was ever conceived. You could even use them in strikes to freeze bosses, which made it more fun to farm strikes for... well there still wasn't much to farm for back then but it was still a fun idea that I wish they would have brought back. I still don't know why they never did.
Remember around beyond light when Bungie said they would be able to pull content from the DCV? Whatever happened to that, all we got out of the DCV was sepiks, SABER and omighal plus the cosmodrome Anyway things Bungie should do with patrols: increase enemy density, improve loot, design patrols for solo players, bring back flashpoints as mini narrative procedurally generated quests that you pick up from the planetary vendor with each week being a different patrol zone, reintroduce the plaguelands and the Dreadnaught Bring back activities like archons forge with updated loot pools and a matchmaking system, 12 man match made escalation protocol or archons forge?
One thing that is annoying is that Bungie rarely follows up on important key plot/world changes, like the Hive "guardians." This was a fundamental change to everything we knew about the light and dark. I thought we would have seen the new Hive guardians everywhere in the story, but now they're just an afterthought for the most part.
one of the things regarding this is that they did this with season of the haunted, they brought back the leviathan as a destination with new activities and a new aesthetic and it felt VERY mmo-like to me. they honestly could do this with so many seasons like Deep when you can even just re-introduce a small portion of a patrol, update it, and make the rewards for playing in the area up-to-date and yeah. so they can do this, but will they?
I'm convinced that most of the content they vaulted was actually deleted completely. If they tried to bring back all the vaulted content they'll have to rebuild it from scratch..
i really hate when people say destiny's an mmo, especially bungie like dog, most activities in the game are 3 player activities you have less people able to join you in most of the game, than co-op games that came out in 2009 had
Wondered if this would be covered because I always found it weird they changed Nessus for the season caital came with her tank so it’s always there, but never did that again, would be awesome if they left the bunkers as either lost sectors or mini zones or like these echos they should change the actual areas to include the terrain changes all over nessus to make the game feel alive
There was a post on the DestinyTheGame reddit, about bringing flashpoints back as endgame patrol rotators with big bosses' world look overhauls and some of the unused D1 raid loot as unique destination loot.
Instead of Bungie thinking about remastering D1. Update D2, bring D1 aspects over to D2. Make patrols like the pale heart, random world bosses, updated strikes, Strike specific loot like ALL us D1 veterans have been asking for since the Red War. secret quests on patrols. Unvault some of the content & upgrade it with new enemies. Just something, instead of Remastering D1.
I agree with basically everything in video, i run patrol only when im low on glimmer. Speaking of remaking some old stuff and gambit. I dont remember where i saw this idea, but basically idea is to make Gambin extraction game mode, like Tarkov or HD2. Basically, your team and enemy team spawn on patrol area and they need to collect motes, cap is not 15, but maybe up to 100-150. And to get more motes you need to kill primivals, that will be like 2-4 throwout the map (1 in each area basically). And you can either go for them OR go kill other team, but shield and HP AGAINST PLAYERS increased, so you need time to kill them. And if you kill full fireteam - you won. OR you can "extract" with motes. Team with more motes win also btw. idk, i would play this
My biggest problem with destiny is the new player experience none of my friends want to play this game due to the story its a fucking mess for a new player. It starts you with the new light quest cool all good thats easy enough then that quest ends and you are lost as to what to start or do next and i have tried guiding them through it but there a big gap in story and no one is interested in going outside the game to learn what happened they want to experience it themselves and that in my opinion is why we need a Destiny 3 just to have a complete story in the game again instead of bits and pieces of cut and not cut content that makes no sense.
For me, quite a few "innovations" Bungie has made to the game, only made it worse. Minus power/power disabled removed the power grind. I know some would say that isn't a problem, but the issue is that now you can't get stronger than the activity like you used to so power just feels useless. Champs are just bullet sponges that make the game take longer and in part, the artifact champ mods limit loadouts to whatever the weapons are for that season. And then there is the Rahool change for getting new exotics which takes forever to get. All of these changes and more have actually pushed my Fireteam away from the game so I have had no one to do anything with anymore. I just want the game to feel more like D1 in a sense again. Making power actually matter, fun modifiers for strikes like Daybreak, and actually fun activities overall like Haunted Forest instead of Haunted Lost Sectors. Like I just want the fun to come back into the game. Then you see someone like Datto being like "they shouldn't have nerfed Counterfeit". I hear that and wonder who hurt you to want an annoying modifier to stay so bad it would ruin your day multiple times over.
hey bungie, do something like, "Get a kinectic tremors chroma rush by doing activities on Europa, Pale Heart, or The Moon. Increased chance on getting double perks on the 3rd column by completing lost sectors or strikes." Something like that.
They literally just need to do something within Destinys 'Asset repurpose' design. Weekly flashpoints should return; feature weeklies for reworked destination weapon red borders and mementos themed to that planet, new armor maybe even a rare exotic drop you can farm for. EDZ Flashpoint? Do activities all week and maybe one of your rewards from an event or boss drop will be the "No Land Beyond". D1 Taken invasion style random event but its the Dread. "The Enemy moves against one another" but theres a big world boss that spawns if you kill enough. Public events more frequently plus do what leviathan did and make everyone 10 power under so you can't just steamroll it.
Things I'd like to change with patrols are like high value targets. Let them be high bounty targets you can get from the patrol vendor and when you pick that bounty up they'll randomly spawn anywhere on the map. There are spots in patrol zones I forget even exist because how empty they feel. Two other things that be nice to change patrol is to rework the vendors for the areas to drop new gear and weapons even if they're reprised alongside with having each area have a large scale public event like the vex incursions on neomuna. ( Im only in a few mins in the video so idk if he already mentioned any of this already)
Treasure hunts! Let vendors give you treasure maps to search out caches of loot from the patrol zones! It'd be like the region chests but with higher tier stuff to give.
Ooo a fun idea each vendor in a patrol could have a quest for a d1 exotic or sumthin like if devrim had one for no land beyond, nimbus could sell tlaloc, and Petra could sell like dregs promise (since we didn’t get it with tomb of elders) etc
Destinations for sure has became the most useless, wasted thing in the game rn. As well as the fact that they Focus too deep into MMO and new content, and not Innovations, because at its core is RNG Looter Shooter. what I suggested is take specific world drops that fit with the older destinations, so for example Scathlocke auto rifle and more Hakke and EDZ Camo weapons and Armor for Devrim Kay. You can buy the normal version for the Dusklight shards and glimmer, but, you can't buy the Shiny/Glowing versions of the weapon and armor, only inspect it at Devrim. You can only earn them by, both, gambling for them it Harder Public events/patrols and Easy level Nightfalls, Or guranteed a random shiny and armor in Harder level Nightfalls and Grandmaster if that Nightfall is on that Destination. I've said it again and again in your comments, they lack INNOVATION, Quality over Quantity which impacts Replayability.
I’d like patrols to be a threat not as much as grandmasters, but yeah difficult enough, with public events that make you move around the entire map like that Adventure in the EDZ that involved a giant teleporting servitor in D2 vanilla
I think that they should give us "armor crafting" where we need to get resources from the patrols to be able to craft the old season pass armor that isnt obtainable anymore including the cosmetics and ghost shells and sparrows instead of selling them to us again. im not saying they should let us craft new armor or anything like that but just things that have trash stats so we can get things again. it would give people a reason to explore to find the things and also allow people to get those old things again. they could even give us back fishing in more paces and have that be something we need to get for this crafting system.
The game just feels big and unruly at this point. The new challenge of elders has its challenge ui overlapping the buff ui. Stuff like that would be unacceptable in any other game but for some reason destiny lets it slide because our quality standards are so low. Exotic armour from year 1 always has an extra +1 in a stat because of some residual armour code that is still in use. It just makes the game feel like a frakenstein monster when all the new stuff is just stitched on top of a failed older system. Then combine that with years of removing content and it makes me question why i should care about the game when it seems like bungie doesnt care about the game.
I think this is why D1 is better than D2, when Taken King came around, they updated ALL the patrol areas to spawn taken every so often, they revamped certain strikes to be taken themed; not to mention they also gave taken enemies to the original Prison of Elders AND gave a new way to play it in the form of Challenge of Elders. When Rise of Iron came, while they didn’t spawn splicer enemies on the patrol zones, they still re themed strikes, and did present the Cosmodrome with a new coat of paint in the form of the Plaguelands (sure, different patrol zone, but still cool). Making D2 “Free to play” doomed the game, I play still on occasions, specially when events like Iron Banner, Festival of the Cost and The Dawning show up, but all else is so neglected. D2 has become a subscription sort of game, and frankly, with the amount of neglect the game has in no small part because of the layoffs, its just not worth it anymore. I say those of us who have console, should go back to D1, sure the game is slow, and is far from perfect, but at least it respected everyones time and money, maybe if they see us dip out of D2 in favor of D1, they’ll want to make change (very doubtful, but what’s there to lose?)
Thats what i did. Took my ps3 out of storage and booted up d1. Sur its 68% of 720p and it runs at 30fps if your lucky but i still feel its a better experience then having my soul stollen from me by a shit game made by a now shit companie played by a shit and toxic community. Saying fuck pc and going back to console as been the best decision these past few years. Funny thing theres more people in the tower in d1 then in d2 during events. Pvp is still playable in classic ffa but youll need active friends to do anything else that is matchmaking or not.
Midtown onslaught with visually different multi roll weapons and how we were able to focus them with ease is peak content for me. The other maps I don’t care for. Bring more of this back…compact, high add dense difficult modes.
strike specific loot and more cosmetics to chase through challenges would be nice but thats unthinkable to them cus eververse. Also not being able to unlock exotics through lost sectors anymore is a massive failure
I have high hopes for all the loot and activity reworks coming in frontiers, because if they are succesfull then they will have great opportunity to update patrols
I think that players are hoping for innovation in destinations by what Bungie said before Destiny 1 launched, which was "If you can see it you can go there" Meaning that they were probably wanting to have big open worlds, but with Destiny one technical limitations, and that moving over to Destiny 2, it's just three zones put together and a lot of the stuff you can see you can't really go to see. I would think, if Destiny 3 only came out on the PlayStation 6, NextGen Xbox, and PC, in 2028 or 2029 or 2030, then they could really innovate and not be held back by any type of hardware at all. Especially for the sizes of the maps and enemy density If they released Destiny 3 on the PS5, the PS5 would already be 8 years old by that point and would already be holding the game back, so it would be best for them to only release it on the next gen systems, maybe to get them to sell more systems
If patrols or open world stuff was just massive waves of enemies, champions, or even bosses attacking these locations I would hang out in them all the time. Especially if they did something unique. Like offer gear drops from all eras of the game, exotics, or even a rare chance at some artifice armor. It might be a bit much for a new light or a free to play player but you could partition it off to an easy, intermediate, and hard zones in the EDZ, Cosmo, Neomuna, ect.. I'm sure more experienced players would be happy to show up and help someone who's having a hard time in some places. Also the pale heart is a joke. I'm pretty sure you have to pay to be there and it's boring AF! That should be a literal expert level of onslaught level of madness. Would be a great place to test builds and slay out with your friends or random people that spawned in there. Another thing I was talking about with a friend is that I would love for there to be open world pvp. I've played games like that in the past and it's fun. The crucible is basically. Put on your favorite guns and build yourself in a way that you never would in a pve setting. Now imagine you're fighting hard pve level content trying to get good loot and all of a sudden someone comes along and is trying to kill you. Now you have to be ready for anything and even the attacker would need to gear up in some ways for pve just to have a chance to fight you. The penalty for death would be you get sent back to the start of whatever the place is and you have to fight your way back in to where you want to be. So you could potentially kill a group of players trying to farm an area and force them to work their way back to get you or they could send you packing yourself if you fail. Then in the worst case scenario where you're getting beaten up on by players that are way over your skill level just reload into a different instance of the activity. I'm sure matchmaking could also be employed to some degree to try and keep the playing field even. Anyway these are just a few easy to implement ideas that could shake up the game a little bit. If they're not your cup of tea then don't participate. There is lots of stuff in D2 to do, but I do think a lot of people would enjoy it. Perhaps it could even entice some retired players to give the game a go again.
So years ago in D1 we had an event on patrols with new targets and stuff but it was so exploited it wasn't funny. Because Bungie had it that you could just sparrow out and back in and get the chest again, something I think they actually repeated on Neomuna at first as well. And that was with people that KNEW the code, the people there now don't really seem to know how the old ass code works. See them still not knowing why people just get guitar errored out of the Pale Heart constantly and other persistent errors. I say this because I genuinely feel they do less partially because they are afraid of breaking the game(even though that happens often anyway at this point). But I believe not improving patrol zones is because the code is getting unruly and they aren't sure what they could get away with plus as I mentioned, being nervous to just give players far too much loot for a day or two and they know they can't undo that. MOST of the reason is money but I think those issues are also involved.
Lets say Bungie spend time & money changing all the existing patrol zones to have an 'escalation protocol' like event. How long are people going to play it before they get bored of that and it becomes empty again. I give it 10 runs before I get bored of it, maybe another 10 more if there is loot to chase. I would rather that time and money be invested in new campaigns, new locations. I don't need to revisit places, add the new activities to new places. Kind of a side step but I will take an Onslaught over prison of elders every time. We have done prison of elders, let's leave that in the past and look forward.
Why would Bungie overhaul a destination or patrols, for example, when you guys would spend far more money for cosmetics in the shop, and buy $100 for 4 season passes with dungeons? If the community had demanded more than spend, Destiny would have been in a better place. Think about it. *4 seasons a year, 4 dungeons a year, a raid, raid remake, a DLC, and whatever holiday event in a year.* That's a lot of work to work on in a year. You guys refused content drought because "omg content drought in D1 was so terrible." So Bungie listened and rapid fire content. Its why SRL is not in D2. Why make a gamemode like SRL? When it costs so much to make, and takes time to make. When I could simply make a season pass with so little missions in such short time, copied & paste, and call it a day while making millions from that. The point is why would Bungie update each zone with new monsters like animals, new type of patrols, update the system, update the events, update the loot when I could just make a season far cheaper and gain millions from that?
Cuts staff Cuts staff again Old content isn't thought about New content is what's stressing everyone out to not lose their jobs Old content rots New content comes in half baked Newerer content already being worked on with burnt out employees ??? Cuts staff more
It’s not even innovations. This is basic ish, other games including Destiny’s rare direct competitors have done this stuff. They can’t even do basic hunting or fishing ffs. Basic things every game does that have zones.
The updating of strikes in d2 is such a downgrade of d1, d1 we kept both strikes so we had verity in d2 the og version is tossed away in the for a possibility worst version, the dumbest thing when we have so little strikes as is.
I didn't want a d3 because of all the gear I spent time getting that was a long grind and I want to enjoy it, sunsetting when it was done gave a lot of stuff no time to be enjoyed but now ? I want a d3 that's made from the ground up to have more added to it, d2 gets more and more unstable as they add half baked content to it I want a d3 because then maybe the devs wont have to make half baked content that gets deleted after a season to keep the game stable I want a d3 that actually allows innovation and not just this bare minimum cash grab slop they have so many assets and I know putting them into a new engine would take time but like, instead of starting fresh having assets ready is almost 3/4 of the work done but they wont because people of at the top and some of the old guard with a death grip and a "vission" for the story and don't care about the players of the devs -.- heck even if they did start fresh with a d3 all they would do is cram in even worse anti consumer cash grab scams and ruin the rest of the game -.- still funny rise is actually a better destiny game outside the paytowin scam stuff
Clearly you need to research instance based game engines. Critiquing this way with 0 knowledge of game design, how live services work as well as scaling is pretty frustrating to listen to, as a Dev. You literally have no clue and yet you feed your community this same "it should be this way" before you personally understand "how it could be this way". The constant "make patrol endgame" talk is also bizarre. Patrol endgame? Scaling enemy to our power level, making champs be in patrol? How t f can someone this disconnected get this many subs. smh..

as well as her Dad 5 feet behind us.. Having us jump upstairs to get a comic book to go back to the Holo as a "mission" was an all time low too..

Tbf they did update Nessus for season of the chosen with the giant tank
Midtown onslaught with visually different multi roll weapons and how we were able to focus them with ease is peak content for me. The other maps I don’t care for. Bring more of this back…compact, high add dense difficult modes.
We have all these origin traits and weapon models that could be updated but there they sit.
None of the old but there content should be just there
strike specific loot and more cosmetics to chase through challenges would be nice but thats unthinkable to them cus eververse. Also not being able to unlock exotics through lost sectors anymore is a massive failure
I have high hopes for all the loot and activity reworks coming in frontiers, because if they are succesfull then they will have great opportunity to update patrols
Don't forget that there are tormentor in dreaming city.
I think that players are hoping for innovation in destinations by what Bungie said before Destiny 1 launched, which was "If you can see it you can go there"
Meaning that they were probably wanting to have big open worlds, but with Destiny one technical limitations, and that moving over to Destiny 2, it's just three zones put together and a lot of the stuff you can see you can't really go to see.
I would think, if Destiny 3 only came out on the PlayStation 6, NextGen Xbox, and PC, in 2028 or 2029 or 2030, then they could really innovate and not be held back by any type of hardware at all. Especially for the sizes of the maps and enemy density
If they released Destiny 3 on the PS5, the PS5 would already be 8 years old by that point and would already be holding the game back, so it would be best for them to only release it on the next gen systems, maybe to get them to sell more systems
How can you look back when all of the people that were in the back are gone now.
If Bungie can't put a price tag on it, it won't happen.
Looking forward into hearing your D2 ideasñ
*4 seasons a year, 4 dungeons a year, a raid, raid remake, a DLC, and whatever holiday event in a year.*
That's a lot of work to work on in a year.
Cuts staff
Cuts staff again
Old content isn't thought about
New content is what's stressing everyone out to not lose their jobs
Old content rots
New content comes in half baked
Newerer content already being worked on with burnt out employees
???
Cuts staff more
It’s not even innovations. This is basic ish, other games including Destiny’s rare direct competitors have done this stuff.
They can’t even do basic hunting or fishing ffs. Basic things every game does that have zones.
The updating of strikes in d2 is such a downgrade of d1, d1 we kept both strikes so we had verity in d2 the og version is tossed away in the for a possibility worst version, the dumbest thing when we have so little strikes as is.
Slowing down? It’s stopped.
I didn't want a d3 because of all the gear I spent time getting that was a long grind and I want to enjoy it, sunsetting when it was done gave a lot of stuff no time to be enjoyed
but now ?
I want a d3 that's made from the ground up to have more added to it, d2 gets more and more unstable as they add half baked content to it
I want a d3 because then maybe the devs wont have to make half baked content that gets deleted after a season to keep the game stable
I want a d3 that actually allows innovation and not just this bare minimum cash grab slop
they have so many assets and I know putting them into a new engine would take time but like, instead of starting fresh having assets ready is almost 3/4 of the work done
but they wont because people of at the top and some of the old guard with a death grip and a "vission" for the story and don't care about the players of the devs -.-
heck even if they did start fresh with a d3 all they would do is cram in even worse anti consumer cash grab scams and ruin the rest of the game -.-
still funny rise is actually a better destiny game outside the paytowin scam stuff
How t f can someone this disconnected get this many subs.
smh..
usually one of my first "what should be removed from the game" answers is always patrol zones, they're such a waste of development and space
Done*
Why hasnt Bungie 'did' anything to these? Done! At least get the grammar correct
