You are absolutely right. I was raised in a cult (the one in the shiny happy people documentary) and as a kid you think its normal and what's supposed to happen. I'm so glad those kids are out of there, but the trauma is going to take years, decades even, to heal.

I live in southern Utah, about 30 minutes away from where this took place. It is very uncommon to take discipline this far in a religion that preaches God’s love for you. This woman is mentally deranged and I hope she gets punished to the max!!!!

Geordie this is so similar to my childhood still currently living in the backyard in an rv now disabled from mental health issues and unemployed I'm happy that they. got justice for their situation but the pain and torment is lifelong scars that their kids will have to deal with its so common and sad how much of this abuse gets unrecognized

This is so heartbreaking, there's no help out there for abused children. People would rather turn a blind eye than question bad behaviour from parents. To publicly abuse and tortured children and people watch and copy is beyond a joke. I hope they rot in jail.

My memories of familial abuse start at app 6yrs old..now over 40yrs later..i still remember....i feel for these kids sentenced to a lifetime of mental health issues/ trauma....only saving grace is..in today's wprld, there is so much put there to explain what happened and help them heal..to some extent.

CPS in this country is kind of a joke, in my opinion. I work at a Women’s and Children’s hospital and you would be surprised at how much it takes for them to finally take kids away from abusive, unfit parents.

I never heard about this story ... it's so f-ing disturbing. As a parent myself, I feel my guts turning inside out. Children are supposed to be the recipients of all our love and care. I mean, there's going to be struggles in any upbringing, but if you genuinely care about your kids you're never going to hurt them. No matter the punishment she gets now, it's going to be nothing compared to your own kids ignoring your existence for the rest of your life!
