I go to one of the schools that had a past rivalry with hickory and my dad went there and whenever I told him that hickory made state he was ticked to death. I just found this clip and sent it to him. He’s happy to see his school make state again.
Dudley had so many chances to win smh. This game was decided by coaching and hickory coaches did a better job.

Yo NC football is physical. Look at most states, looks more like basketball. hickory was physical as hell. That's what I like to see but that's NC football. We'll run it down your throught all night long. But Hickory played physical at every position. Congrats you boys earned it.
Great game overall, but there was definitely a huge difference in coaching. Hickory was playing chess, while Dudley was playing checkers. Hickory would audible based upon the look that the defense was giving them, and Dudley rarely made adjustments. Both teams had tons of talent and speed. Hickory had to overcome so many penalties that went against them, and Dudley started making late errors as well with the false starts and illegal substitutions. Hickory used Dudley's quick strike ability against them by milking the clock with their long scoring drives. Both defenses didn't play too well, and Dudley should've kicked a field goal before halftime. These two teams may see eachother again next year for sure.

As a Dudley Fan and Supporter that was the first to get on the visitors side at 5:30p.I can't find any arguments in your Assessments. I agree with 100% in what you said. Dudley had Opportunities. But Hickory game plan was perfect on offense
Hickory's QB is a junior. He will be even better next year. I am not sure of who all they lost. I am a Hibriten fan first. My boys went down in 2nd round of the 3A playoffs. We have had some rough times since winning the 2AA state championship in 2017. Anyway, Dudley had a great team and they have a great coach!! The 3A is soo stacked that it is ridiculous. 3A is the toughest class of them all.

@@ProsperVenturesInc Whoever calling the defense may not be terrible but they not great either. Those athletes been saving them but the lack of adjustments was just bad. The coaching cost them a ring.
Dudley can’t win them all, but they are by far one of the best football teams in NC… but it’s Whirlie Pride over here

@@CapeFear1falcons lost because they can’t score at any given time. Hickory offense controlled the clock and forced seventy-first to go to the air which they can’t do. “Too small” “bad defense” “weak conference” Hickory proved everyone wrong so give them the respect they earned
@@CapeFear1 "Falcons are the better team." If only there was a way to determine who is the better team. What I'd propose is a timed contest played head-to-head against the two teams, with established rules and methods of scoring points. At the end of that contest, whichever team has the most points will be determined to be the better team. But alas, without such a way we will never know who is the better team.
