Written Pattern*
Make a slip knot, ch 10
Row1 - 1sc in the 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in the next stitch, 1 in the next ....rep till the end of the row(9sc)
ch 1 and turn
Row2 - 1 sc in each of the 9 stitches. ch 1 turn
Repeat row2 untill desired length.
ch 1 fasten off.
Make one more piece with the same above pattern but a little smaller in size than the first piece.
Front portion of the pencil
Attach white yarn
Row1 - ch 1, 1sc in the same stitch where you attached the yarn. 1sc in the next st, 1 sc in the next ......rep till you reach the end of the row. Ch 1 turn
Row2 - sc first 2 sts together, 1sc in next 5 sts, sc last 2 sts together. (7sc) ch 1 fasten off.
Attatch next colour(light brown)
Row3 - ch1 , 1sc in each of the 7 sts. ch 1 turn.
Row4 - sc first 2 sts together, 1 sc in next 3 sts, sc last 2 sts together. (5sc) ch 1 turn.
Row5 - 1sc in each of the 5 sts. ch 1 turn.
Row6 - sc first 2 sts together, 1 sc in the next st, sc last 2 sts together. (3sc). ch 1 turn.
Row7 - 1 sc in each of the 3 sts. ch 1fasten off.
Attach black yarn,
(Strap)
Row8 - ch 1, sc in each of the 3 sts. ch 1 turn.
Repeat Row8 untill you have a long strap.ch 1 fasten off.
Now place the other piece of the pencil on top and join by sc sts all around.
Make another strap on the bottom of the pencil with the same pattern of the strap at the top. ch1 fasten off.
Add a button to one strap and a loop on the other.
Your beautiful pencil bookmark is ready.
