Darksiders was an epic adventure to me which I was looking for and I loved the story. Darksiders 2 simply amazing. The story, the game play, the stage design, even the voice actings are surprisingly fun and captivating. Playing my second play through in my PS5 after stumbling upon this video.
Darksiders 2 is a definitive Darksiders experience and I'm still so pissed why they throw it all away for another souls clone, just fucking why? I hope they make things right in the fourth game and we'll get a great Darksiders again, because Darksiders 2 is one of my favorite games ever!
Don't you mean DEATHinitive? Also yes, Darksiders 3 was a slap in the face. It shouldn't have been a souls bootleg. And there's actually a lot more wrong with it. Fury is REALLY annoying. The music... just isn't there. The story should have moved on instead of milking the apocalypse. The environments were... well not too bad, but nowhere near as good as they were in Darksiders 2. Darksiders 3 was an embarrassment. I almost quit the series because of it.
@@Hynotama Well I don't hate the third game. Yes, I have many issues with it and from now on it's always gonna be the black sheep of the series, but the game itself is fun. The problem is it's a terrible Darksiders game, the story especially is just really bad - one giant fetch quest with barely any world building and ending minutes after it pick ups? Ughhhh... But at least we got Genesis.
@@simla5 I didn't actually play Genesis yet. I tried a pirated copy for a bit and I like the Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light vibes. I bought it on Steam a few days ago, but I'm waiting for some furniture to set up my new computer before playing it with max settings. With Genesis, I wish they would allow us to choose the second horseman instead of forcing War down our throats. But at least we don't have to stomach Fury again.
Darksiders 2 is a forgotten masterpiece. The amount of epicness in this game is insane. The visual style, character and environment designs, voice acting, story, dialogues and that incredible soundtrack!! It has fantastic atmosphere, it constantly surprises and never looses its grip and it has so many absolutely epic moments. There is just no other game like it. And you play as Death! Its the only game where even such thing as opening a door is epic. Sure its not perfect, but I sill love this game so much.
I loved this video. Darksiders 2 is also my most favorite one in the series and the soundtrack is just phenomenal while Darksiders 1 and 3 soundtracks were forgettable. I'm still playing Darksiders 2 to this day it's just that good. :)
I personally like all the soundtracks and think they're all great. Even though Darksiders 2 is best of the bunch for sure - also Genesis has got fantastic soundtrack as well!
While Darksiders 2 is a great game overall (and a bit iffy on the technical side), it will boggle my mind forever the game had a budget of 80 million $ on last-gen when Witcher 3 had a budget of 87 million $ budget on current-gen.

I got a copy of this game with my Xbox 360 and didn't even know about the franchise at the time (given the fact that I lived in rural Nevada and we couldn't afford wifi). This was the game that got me introduced to the series and I remember loving my time with the game (although when I did that initial play-through, I was very bad at games and had a hard time on Easy Mode). Now I have the Deathinitive Edition along with the Warmastered Edition of Darksiders. I actually think it's better than what I remembered on my first play-through back when I was 12 since I've now played enough games to know how to appreciate a good story. Especially when there's as much lore as the Darksiders series has to offer. This is also the first game I've beaten without the help of a friend so of course it would hold a special place in my heart as one of the best action games with rpg elements that I've ever played.
Thank you so much for making this! I got these games at a generously discounted price and I’m really looking forward to playing them now XD If I’m feeling up to it, maybe I’ll make a play through 😙
I actually like the gun more this time around because you can get lots of shots in out all at once, kinda making it a wild card. And with the right abilities and gear, you can make it so that shots fired at enemies restore some of your Wrath. So it becomes this thing you incentivize to use more powerful moves more often.

Although I'm not sure the game's pacing would really be able to stand up to two (or three, but I don't consider Earth a world in its own right, it's just a dungeon) extra full size worlds. It would have been better if they were able to spread out the same amount of content that the game already has more evenly between all the worlds. But of course hindsight is 20/20. I think the DLC dungeons actually help to remedy that problem a bit though. They place them at very good points during the Deathinitive Edition, helping to break out the later parts of the game. They're also easily some of the best dungeons in the game. Belial also makes up for the final boss not being too great to a certain degree too.
