i discovered paradis in 2018. their album “recto verso” is such a masterpiece for me. i don’t know french at all but whenever i’m depressed, sad or angry idk why but their songs made me feel like i’m somewhere which is so quiet, calm, in peace. it never changed until back then. so i just wanted to say thank u for your music. i wished that you could continue tho:(

Recto verso is a latin expression who mean the two sides of a sheet of paper for exemple. Recto meaning the front of the page and verso meaning the back of the page.

Honestly, finding Paradis was the best thing to me. For the life of me, i can't seem to find any duo/band that's nearly as good as them. i've heard Bleu Toucan, Lewis Ofman, to name a few but there's something about Pierre's melodies and Simon's voice (oh that voice) that just hits home perfect. Was utterly devastated when i heard they disbanded. Good music like this, won't be found elsewhere. :'(

This comment had me feeling seen. Recto Verso is an absolute jewel of an album. Felt similarly about the disbanding of a group called Royksopp some years ago...such is the sad and beautiful reality of those rare acts that are a uniquely magnificent distillation of a very specific creative muse. Some times all the hundreds of parts come together so right one can only be grateful to have experienced it...
