Silage removal for biogas | MAMMUT SILO CAT

Extreme endurance test for our SILO CAT: Every day, around 30 tonnes of silage are removed from this huge silage stock of the biogas plant in the video using silage shear from MAMMUT. Here, above all, a reliable and robust removal technology is required that can withstand the extreme loads.
TECHNOLOGY FOR PROFESSIONALS
The use of silage shears on a biogas plant is not only about huge removal quantities, but also about the ongoing use of the technology, which of course should function as smoothly and uncomplicatedly as possible. Failures here cost working time and therefore money. The XL series of SILO CAT models has a block volume of 2.52 m³ to 3.13 m³ and is therefore the ideal machine for professionals like those at this biogas plant in Upper Austria.
AVOIDING SECONDARY FERMENTATION
A smooth, precise cut is advantageous in order to avoid post-fermentation in the silage stock and thus mould spots. The compact surface means that bacteria cannot penetrate as easily and the formation of odours caused by mould is also minimised - this plays an important role in biogas plants located close to residential areas.
LOW CUTTING RESISTANCE
Thanks to its unique design and welded Hardox cutting knife, the SILO CAT silage shear achieves a smooth cutting surface with very low cutting resistance. This means little strain on the carrier vehicle - but also gentle removal of fodder from the silage stock.
