Hey Rev, this is Jack (cooltrainerjack) with Loose Packs. It was awesome to meet you, and I'm glad you were willing to give our boxes a shot. We make these to counteract a lot of the more scummy and scammy boxes you see in the hobby (many of which you have highlighted on your channel), and it takes a lot of time, resources, and energy to make sure they are as good as they can be. At the end of the day mystery products are a gamble and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but our goal when we put these together is with the end collector in mind. We want whoever is opening these to feel good and be happy with what they've pulled. Our mindset is to have a higher floor and lower ceiling relative to the price of the box. So you'll always come away with something of value, rather than most other products on the market where you almost always coming away with nothing chasing the huge hit. Thank you for showcasing our product we work so hard on, I do need to fix the wording on the odds a bit because I guess it is confusing haha!
I really appreciate people like y’all who think of the collector. Lots of these boxes just contain random items, and people will lose. It feels like you made a win-win kinda box. Out of curiosity, how long did it take y’all to come up with the “perfect” box you wanted? These look really cool!
@@VonDoughBoy I appreciate the kind words! A lot of work goes into making these and I am really grateful for the positive response they've gotten. I have been making these for a little over 2 years now. I don't exactly remember how I got the idea, but it was at a point in the hobby where mystery boxes were popular but the only products on the market were basically scams. I made a spreadsheet and kind of pieced together this idea I had in my head of my ideal box. And then did a test run that included Stormfront packs and WOTC packs. Back then Stormfront was like $100 and a 1st Edition Fossil heavy pack was $450. That was the floor and ceiling. The test run I did was 10 boxes for $250 + shipping each, and someone bought 2 boxes and got both Stormfront packs, he streamed the opening live and was SUPER disappointed. So I re-evaluated and decided sticking to vintage only is the best option. And we decided to go with the least controversial option which is WOTC and EX era only. I've continued to listen to feedback (like Rev's feedback about the listed odds being kind of confusing, that will be addressed!) and I try my best to make boxes that are exciting to open and that people will be happy with regardless if it is a ceiling or a floor. Someone at collect-a-con this past weekend where Rev picked these up pulled a heavy base set pack and ripped it right at our booth. Got the Charizard. Absolute jubilation. A young kid came up to us (probably no older than 12) and wanted to get one but needed to sell some stuff first as it was his money he had to use, and not his dad's. Ended up pulling a heavy 1st Edition Jungle pack and decided to keep it sealed. It's those kind of people I like to keep in mind when I make them. A kid deciding to spend his allowance money, or whatever spending money he had one something I made is pretty special. And I don't want the product he receives to be less than special. Probably my favorite though is one time when I was streaming someone really wanted to get one and had been chatting with me for a few days prior about it. The ONLY pack she wanted, though, was a Neo Rev with Entei as the artwork. It was the last pack she needed for her collection. She decided to take the risk and ended up getting that exact pack. I couldn't believe it haha. Sorry for the long reply, but basically in short I came up with the "perfect" box by creating it how I would want it to be if I was the one opening it. How would I feel if I opened one of our boxes and got the absolute worst pack imaginable? Would I rather spend $50 and get $5 worth of junk 999/1000 times but have a 1/1000 chance at a 1st Edition Base Set pack? Or would I rather spend $300-$350 and at worst get ~$200 in value and at best get ~$850? The modern packs are just an added throw in as Rev basically said. We figure a lot of the people who are going keep the packs they get sealed so it's nice to have something cheap that can just be ripped. We've had a handful of alt arts get pulled from the modern packs so that's always cool too.
@cooltrainerjack please keep doing what you guys are doing. Y’all are some of the best in the hobby and I have loved getting to see how you guys keep growing and learning how to be the best
@@cooltrainerjack thanks for the reply man! I’ll have to check you guys out and see about buying a box myself, and whatever y’all have available. I appreciate you taking the time to write something long like this out. Good luck with your business!
For anyone curious, Giovanni holo 1st edition from Gym Challenge is going for around $35-50 raw and between $225-250 in PSA10. Not too valuable, but still a cool pull. And the Lt Surge's Pikachu he got in the same pack goes for about $100 in a PSA10.
Prolly woulda been a couple hundred if he sent the whole pack to get graded and sold the pack lol 😂 but there’s always that little voice in the back of your mind what if there’s a huge card in the pack lol 😂
I'm from the UK and I have bought all my vintage packs from these guys! Whoever does their Instagram messages is awesome, very helpful and packs are awesome! Glad these guys are getting more recognition!
Love that you keep opening old packs. This is so nostalgic, that your channel was like a main motivation for me to open pokemon cards once more after more than a decade from my last pack.
Hey Rev, I am the kid who you saw at Collect A Con wearing the teal/aqua shirt. I am also so glad I was able to meet you and get a selfie! Also, nice vid. Those two final vintage packs were great!!
@@Cheezish unless your really like to open up cards but besides that if you just like old cards it’s better to buy singles then gamble at the chance to get a good card

Like this comment to get a hit in your next pack
Me about to open a base set pack 😂
I've been hearing about Loose Packs recently. It's good to have a trustworthy place to get vintage packs.
That was pretty great actually. Expensive, but a guaranteed vintage pack is a nice encouragement.
Pretty cool to see someone create this style of vintage mystery box and make it seem worthwhile, even on the lower tier of what you can pull.
Love that you keep opening old packs. This is so nostalgic, that your channel was like a main motivation for me to open pokemon cards once more after more than a decade from my last pack.
I’ve never seen mystery boxes that are good… until now
I love seeing the background falling but have u thought bout finding a way to clap it to the table. Lol

Now we know where to go for vintage packs. Thanks Rev
These boxes were insane! So cool!
Glad to see those vintage packs were more than likely unweighed.
Yes
These boxes were actually pretty legit!
Should I buy a vintage pack, is it worth it?
Probably not
@@Cheezish unless your really like to open up cards but besides that if you just like old cards it’s better to buy singles then gamble at the chance to get a good card
Yeah probably not
If you collect sealed vintage sure lol
The Eeveelution gold stars are my vintage chase cards!
Pokerev No Doubt Makes My Day❤
I love meeting new vendors with fun boxes like this when I go places. There are some good hidden products out there.
I liked my own Comment!
And?
I thought this trend died…
Thats sad
I disliked it for you
bro thinks he is going to be famous
I love the artwork on the boxes!!
I’m a fan of mystery boxes especially when vintage is involved.
Heard about loose packs, they had a great idea with these
The walrien pack art is awesome!
Very cool! A local shop by me has some base set packs unweighted that cost the same as that box did!
Wow, actual heat from a mystery box, nice!!!
10:39 scarlet and violet base WHAT
I thought he said 'it's the final pack ho!'
These are some super cool mystery products
It’s cool how you got a 1st edition vintage pack
Yo this is dope. Hawk tuah on that thing she said!?!?❤🎉❤😂😂🎉😅😅😅
You should do a video of your most cherished cards.
These mystery boxes don't seem too bad 🧐
Power Keepers definitely helped without those boxes being a total bust.
Awesome boxes Rev! You should do more of them 😋
To be able to do this for a living is crazy, he's literally living our dream childhood
I was 100% ready to call these out as being filled with only light packs. Glad to see I was wrong!
Cool mystery packs for sure, thanks for sharing Rev!
That reverse fire energy was sick
Love the vintage stuff man
They were probably some of the better mystery boxes you’ve ever bought
*breaks even* on 2nd box:
PokeRev: "dude we lucked out on that one!"
I like that every box has a vintage pack, price reflects it, but far better than throwing money at a scam box!
It's cool that these boxes guarantee a vintage pack. I would get one if it wasn't so expensive!
Those where pretty darn awesome 😊😊
A much better mystery box than the other ones you’ve been opening.
Wow alot.. hope at least you get some great packs
Always down for the surprise vintage
I just love those classic gym boosters so much nostalgia
Shrouded Fable Release date... Can't wait it's so close 😄
These mystery boxes are so cool would love to see you open more of these in the future
Really nice concept 🙌 hats off
For my opinion, most of the vintage pack selections for the mystery pack were good.
Love these mystery videos
Good to see some vintage from mystery products
these are pretty cool to see, wonder if 1st ed base is in the pool
At least these weren't a scam
Nice vintage packs
A guaranteed vintage pack!?! I’m saving to buy one right now! This is probably the best random mystery box I’ve ever seen!
So are definitely better boxes to open. Seems like you have a real chance at a good vintage pack.
Very cool that you picked up some unique stuff to rip on your channel at the con. These were pretty decent.
This was the first stand I found at collect a con, my budget was pretty tight after leaving that table lol
Awesome to pull vintage packs from a mystery box!
Just wondering if you can order these boxes online they seem pretty decent?
Good box not scam
Guaranteed Vintage Boosters Guaranteed!!🤯😱
I love some good high end re packs. So much fun
It's not a pokerev video without that back drop falling
Il definitely check them out thank you for the video❤

What an INCREDIBLE opportunity for vintage packs 😮
I remember opening jungle packs as a kid.
There is almost nothing that brings me as much joy as my daily viewing of Rev's content :)
Not holding back any bugdet on this video 😱 really cool mystery boxes and amazing video
That was probably the closest to cash back I have ever seen on mystery boxes.
I remember opening Gym Heroes back in the day. Great times!
That Giovanni is really nice! :D
So cool, always a joy to watch you open mystery packs.
Yea rev 🎉🎉🎉
I’m glad you guys try these mystery packs so we don’t have to
Crazy because I’ve seen reputable sellers on eBay selling box fresh vintage packs for less than the box
Was great to meet you at the con!
If you open up your box cutter there is blades inside the handle
Amazing video❤
2:28 not the first time 😅
@9:13 Metagross card worth $50 max. Where you getting $370 value from?
You’re looking at value for the raw card. He puts up the potential value of the card if it were graded and earned the highest grade
@@PokeNoah.$50-$100 is for a PSA 10.
@@motorcarclassics2922 Can I ask where you’re getting those numbers from? Neither eBay sold items nor PSAs website shows anything close to that

Always nice to see vintage pack opening, and gym challenge is one of my favorites.
Let's go Rev awsome video
It really seems like its ultimately a better risk/reward ratio. The buyer never walks away without something cool... Its the level of cool that TBD.
