Monte Melkonian is an Armenian hero 😊 Such an inspiration. There has never been anyone like him. He fought and died for Hayastan. He was American of Armenian descent and was not able to speak Armenian until he was an adult, where he then learnt the language. He fought for all Armenians including those in Lebanon 🇱🇧 where he also fought in. Sadly he died at the battlefield when he tried to liberate Armenian land from the Azeri Turkic occupiers.
You missed a lot of things from his terrorist biography. Please write all the terrorism, killings he committed. We Azerbaijanis finished him in our lands since he was an occupant. I hope he enjoys his life in hell
This doesn't surprise me. Despite having been told by so many people that English is very prevalent in Georgia and that you shouldn't speak Russian, I have had pretty bad experiences in Tbilisi trying to communicate in English (and I've been there several times). First of all, I can't even count the number of times people have just stared at me like some sort of alien creature when just saying "Hello" or something simple, even in Georgian... I don't know if it's that they thought I was Russian or something, but I genuinely felt like I had landed on a planet in another solar system and the people I was interacting with had never seen a being like myself. And English speakers were relatively rare. I had to speak Russian in order to communicate much more often than I was expecting. Granted it wasn't everyone, and I have lots of Georgian friends that are super warm and friendly, but I've never experienced anything like that in Armenia. Even if an Armenian doesn't speak your language, they are almost universally friendly and helpful... and the level of English seems to be higher in Yerevan, to boot.
I've been living in Armenia for half a year and the people are really fantastic. Always nice, welcoming and outgoing and even often trying to give you something or feed you without expecting something in return) And the nature there is awesome, mountains, lakes, lovely food as well Just incredible, absolutely must visit country!
I'm Lithuanian living in London and I've been watching you Justin for quite a while. Surprisingly good content and I love your genuine approach to all the locals where ever you travel! I can see the new star is rising on UA-cam and soon we will see London taking over Brighton! Keep on moving Justin and all the best mate!
Another excellent video Justin! I hope you are recovering and feeling better in Latvia. I really enjoyed your UA-cam live video from earlier this week. Just to let you know, there will be the Armenian Pan-Armenian games taking place in Yerevan this August. Tens of thousands of Armenians from all over the world will be coming to Armenia for these Olympic-style games. You'll get a chance to meet Armenians from Europe, South America, United States, Canada and the Middle East. In case you were thinking of visiting again! I know there are flights from Riga few times a week! Cheers!
Hi David. Sticking to the doctor's orders and hope to be back in full swing very soon! Thanks for asking👍 I also really enjoyed the live stream and am currently planning the next one. Hope to see you again on Tuesday. August in Armenia sounds amazing, you never know I might show up!!! Would make a great video talking about the different diasporas... Thanks for the info.
@@J.E.E Hope you recover soon! Looking forward to your summer adventures. Just take it easy for the time being to get to a 100%. As for Armenia, sounds good! Should be loads of fun interacting not only with locals but Armenians from all corners of the earth congregating in one place. Cheers and wishing you a speedy recovery Justin. Looking forward to your next video.

I can say that Armenians have language skills. There are a lot of famous Armenian linguists (I am studying to be a linguist in Russia and many of our textbooks were written by Armenians). In confirmation, I can cite my experience. I know about 7 languages myself due to frequent moves to different countries😅

What a smart person, being an Englishman, knows Russian and speaks it so well. In addition, I want to tell you that the youth of Armenia also knows the history of England, since we study the history of the Middle Ages at school, including the history of England and France, especially Armenians know the history of the 100-year war.
1375 King Levon V of Armenia was exiled to France. From there he visited England and after a great reception by King Richard II and escort to London made a plea in Westminister Palace for the English and the French to end their 100 year war and turn their energy towards the middle east and a new crusade.

The guy from Syria is Armenian too (hence the first name, Harut.. but also I can tell from his face). Before the civil war, Syria had one of the largest Armenian diasporas in the world, mostly established by Armenian Genocide survivors. Syrian Arabs welcomed them to their country, and helped save countless women and children after the genocide. Those Armenians kept their language, culture, church and identity, as Armenians have been doing in foreign lands for millennia, but sadly many had to flee to Armenia during the war. Same goes for Lebanon - there are lots of Lebanese Armenians in Yerevan. They're easily identifiable as they don't speak Russian, but usually speak English fairly well with a mixed Arab-Armenian accent.
There are a lot of Armenian people living in Syria as Kurdish people and they all consider themselves also Syrian, so I was not surprised at all and find it amazing that Harout said that he is Syrian even though he could have said that he is Armenian and you have never guessed that he is Syrian too, I like these people who mention their origin :)
