Given the sheer scope of the Wars of Beleriand and the larger magnitude of things going on in that time, like Ancalagon, the greater number of Balrogs, etc., I could see an anime format actually working really well for these conflicts, particularly for Fingolfin’s duel with Morgoth

I would have to say that I'd love to see the Wars of Beleriand in an animated form, just like that of the animated The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and even the Return of the King. Those Films were so great, and in such you get the same thing like the look of the Orcs, the battles and even more. And the fact that it feels more to the book.

Great job mellon, for doing this summary. I always love first age of ME because there are many great stories to listen to/read to and also many favorite characters. Save this video to “watch later” so I can rewatch again every time I want to.
I just bought my first copy of the Silmarillion on Saturday and will start it soon, but I have been listening to it via audio book for a while now. I'm listening to the part of the war right now. it's just starting the 4th battle.
This video is should win a award because it is absolutely amazing! 💯 Yes, I would love to see a breakdown of each battle in more detail please & thank-you! 😃❤👍👍😊
may I suggest getting a Tolkien Bestiary, really helped myself with the sheer scope of history and making sense of the Silmarillion (a cracking read by itself btw)
Another amazing video, honestly altough I would really love to see these batlles on the big screen I also dont want beacuse you never kniw if that would turn out to be as BOTFA, and this entire legendarium is amazing for our imagination, and so this batlles are as great as we imaginate them, if that makes any sense.... Great video!!!!!!!!
I would love for you to make a video for each one of these battles individually. Even one for all the great battles that took place from the 1st to 3rd age. I know that would take forever to make though.
The whole first age needs to be adapted onto the big screen for sure! I think we are on a wait and see approach with the new Amazon series showcasing The Second Age. If it is good and is a success I think we will get some studio getting the rights to The First Age material. I personally would love to see it play out in movies with each major event being one film like The Oath of Feanor, Beren and Luthien, The Children of Hurin, The Fall of Gondolin etc. This obviously would lead to several films but I think that would be great and keep us all salivating for the next upcoming film chapter. A series would be good too but I think you would miss a lot of material with that outlet and would take too many seasons where general audiences may lose interest. The big screen it is for me!
I would watch hours and hours of movies or TV seasons to see this adapted faithfully. Following different characters through ages and wars. That would be amazing
Great video loved it you never fail to amuse me! And sadly I don't think they would make a show of the wars :( but I think I would like a live action more 😎 a show would be cool and all but live action is better yk?
You forgot about the ruins of Doriath and elves and men that were with Beren fighting and killing the dwarves that killed Thingol and took the silmaril and the 2nd and 3rd kinslaying.
Ngl whenever I reach the part where Morgoth Screaming and his Balrog Rushed into the rescue always make me laugh 😂 I imagined the Balrog running with their tiny legs 😂

Melkor and Fongolfin's duel would definitely have to be an anime I personally think. If it's ever done at all. Though, I like the legend of it within my mind personally....
@@missourimongoose7643 I'm with you on that.... I'm worried about what they're planning to do with Tolkien's Masterpiece. There's so much good within his stories and valued lessons. I hate being pedantic about pronunciation. However, Maedhros is my favourite of the Sons of Fëanor. The "ae" is pronounced as a long "a" and the "dh" as a "th", so the name should be pronounced "MAY-thross"
There are many people requesting this to be put on the big screen. Even tho Lotr was a success, Peter Jackson couldn’t adapt everything from the books. The first age is so complex and massive in everything that happens, that I think is to be imagined in our fantasy. The series would be so Long, so expensive to make, it would take more than 10+ Years to be made with quality. I love the Silmarillion, because it feels like a time long gone. Legends and Tales of an different age of the world and only the eldest know about to tell the story. The ONLY way to adapt this, would be in my view a animated series with an unique Style of drawing to it. Not like the hobbit or like clone wars, but a more artistic and vague kind of way. Just to show how ancient and mystical the story is.
Pretty sure Fingolfin was killed by falling backwards into a crater from Grond then having Morgoths boot on his neck, not by Grond itself. Love the detail/imagery tho!
Could Agate dowels the dwarf king's dagger that he put in the belly of the Dragon bee sting??? Would make sense. And yes I would love to see this big battle on the movie screen. I would not even care if it was six films three or four hours long. They could put an intermission in between them or something like the old days, but make it better than Peter Jackson's movies.
THIS is the speech that matters of such import should command. The Silmarils were jewels wrought by Feanor, mightiest of all the Elves. In imperishable crystal he captured the mingled Light of the Two Trees of Valinor before Morgoth and Ungoliant slew them. Morgoth stole the jewels and fled to Middle Earth and the Noldorian Elves led by their princes followed purposing to wrest the jewels from Morgoth by force. In their hopeless war the Elves were eventually succored by the Vala when Earendil, with a Silmaril bound to his brow, was finally able to sail to Valinor carrying their plea for aid. Earendil was not allowed to return to Middle Earth but was set to sail the skies with the Silmaril forever.
So, if the Noldor elves never returned to Middle Earth bounded to Feanor's Oath to reclaim the Silmarils and Mandos' doom, would Morgoth have an easy victory defeating the Sindar elves, Silvian elves, the dwarves and the race of men and would have successfully conquered Beleriand?

If you are the director will you film this all accurate? Not like Peter Jackson
Trouble is Tolkien killed off most of my favorite Elves. THINGOL is not one of them though.
Didn't Beleriand fall into the sea at the end of the War of Wrath because of the destruction wrought by the power of the Valar and Mairar?
